SPOILER !! Week Aug 19

I think we all agree that Fabigail is likely Jack's daughter but probably not Jennifer's and nobody is going to check. I've seen lots of speculation that she's Gwen on a grift, but I can't see Ron resisting showing another Theresa and Gwen swap, nor him recasting his beloved Emily O'Brien (Gwen). If she is not actually Abby, but doesn't know it, let me throw out another possibility. Back in August 1988 Melissa dumped Jack at the alter and blew town, going on their honeymoon alone. She returned in early 1990, angrier at Jack than even when she left. If she was pregnant and had dumped his kid somewhere this would actually make sense. And Fabigail would have ties to the Hortons and Johnsons. Anyhow just a thought because I hate Gwen.

This would've made so much more sense than the stupid story of Tiffany showing up in Salem and Laura paying her some hush money to leave and never speak of having Jack's child.
 
Wouldn't it? I could see Melissa finding out she was pregnant on her non honeymoon and not wanting Maggie, or especially Mickey, who loathed Jack, to find out, then giving up the baby and waiting over a year to come back so she was fully recovered from the pregnancy.
 
How naive of them all to just test Jack. Test Jennifer and the kids. But they won't because of "duh plot."

If Clyde's end game is to play around with Chad and family's emotions, then this is definitely going to achieve that if it is later revealed that new Abby is not old Abby. While I believe she is not old Abby, who knows at this point?
 
I'm sorry but I could never wrap my head around Cady McClain as being Jennifer. In fact, I wish she would never come back as Jennifer. I find her quite annoying. Just me. There is only 1 Jennifer that my brain can digest and that is Melissa Reeves.
 
What is surprising to me is that the re-casting of a Days character used to work very well..........years ago. But somehow, tho the actor could be a very good one, they are given the part of a character that just doesn't seem to fit. No idea the why........tho I am thinking it boils down to $$$. NBC cut the budget, the show was forced to comply, and thus doesn't have the funds sometimes needed to get the person who might better fit a character. Heck, regular cast had to take pay cuts, and .....well, not easy to get someone who knows how to write for a soap. Very different writing for 5 shows a week, compared to once a week, or a movie or two a season.

I know I have mentioned writers from cancelled soaps probably being available, but.....many either retired or took other jobs. Sure hope NBC loosens the purse strings a bit.
 
I'm really hoping that Ava comes to Melinda's rescue before it is too late. If Melinda is killed off I'll be as mad as when Susie Chang was killed off on Rizzoli and Isles. Susie Chang was played as well by Tina Huang. She has been a favorite of mine for years and I was thrilled when she took over the role of Melinda.
 
I'm pretty sure Tina Huang (Melinda) was in the videos and pictures of the 15,000th episode celebration. Oddly, so was Remington Hoffman (Li Shin), which makes me wonder if Li's really alive, or if he's still appearing in Connie's imagination in November/December??
 
If any character in recent years deserves a DiMera poke, it’s Li Shin. He's unrelated to most of the town and his history with Gabi (before they made him the bad end in the triangle) gives him some kick. He's also a good actor who can do serious stuff and comedy. (His cardboard cutout is out-acting Connie as you read this.)

That said - if he is not coming back in the flesh or as a twin or something - I really hope we're not still being subjected to Connie Vininski's delusions in November (unless it's a one-off appearance and she's locked up in Bayview being tormented by Li).
