We have a columbarium on the side of our church, which has individual boxes containing the ashes of departed loved ones. My husband is there, and I will be right next to him. Have to say, tho, attended a funeral some months ago, the deceased was cremated, and buried in the columbarium. As I stood there, was a bit disconcerting to see MY name on a nameplate. I was unable to see my husband's, just mine. (the person's slot was right above me, but I did not realize my name had already been carved in. And yes, birthdate is already on it....death date "to be added" as they say.
When I have visited the cemetery here in the past, so many graves were neglected.....family no longer lived in the area, or also has passed away. We have NO family here at all, any still alive live far away, and........even longtime friends are no longer around. I will say there are now a few organizations that constantly tend the cemeteries. (like VFW, church groups), so headstones are cleaned, ground is raked, mowed, dead flowers removed, wreaths cared for, etc. etc. ) Sorry, did not mean to get off on a tangent like this.
Wishing you all a lovely day. God Bless.
