The unknown face was a young man, maybe in his 20's. Steven Olson is around Julie's age and is played by Stephen Schnetzer. He wasn't shown in the Day of Days promo.

Unless the young man is Steven's grandson who might also be named Steven. I'm hoping the young man is either a son/grandson of Scotty Banning (Julie's grandson), Steven Olson (Julie's full brother) or Dougie LeClair (Doug's bio son).

She was on Days for years.

It leaves out that Liz and Neil Curtis have a daughter named Noel Curtis, who is Sarah Horton's half sister (since Neil Curtis was her biological father). Sarah and Rex Brady initially broke up when she learned he cheated on her with Noel (off-screen). In real life, Gloria Loring (who played Liz) was married to actor Alan Thicke (the dad on Growing Pains) and they had 2 sons. One has Juvenile Diabetes, so she asked the producers to write in a storyline about it. Noel was diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes and it was a big storyline for Liz and Neil Curtis. Also in real life, Gloria Loring sang the theme song for the Facts of Life tv show.
 
Yes, I believe the Steven in the spoilers is referring to Julie's brother.

So we still don't know who that young man was approaching Julie at Doug's grave.

Noel is rumored to be making a return as an adult for the first time. We have not seen her since Liz blew town in 1986. Sarah had better watch her around Xander. He won't cheat but Noel might make a play for him.

Other than having Steve come back to Salem with Stefano's "essence" on a chip in his brain, Days hasn't recast any vets who have died in real life (Tom Horton, Alice, Pop Shawn Brady, Caroline, Stefano, Victor, etc.) It's doubtful they'd recast Doug. They obviously used a body double to have Jack find that Doug had died in his sleep, and as Julie sits with him when she goes upstairs. They also hired a body double to be Caroline (from behind) when her spirit looked into the pub at the family celebrating her after the funeral, but that's as far as they've gone.
