Prayers for Florida Hurricane Milton

Just as an FYI, Lisa and I happen to be dead in the center of the path at the moment (Palmetto, FL) unless it turns, which it hasn't for the last 36 hours. Shutters are up. We have sandbags to put out, and that's about all we can do except wait at the moment.
To follow up, Lisa and I came home on Thursday. We chose to evacuate South East to Palm Beach Gardens on the other coast for a couple of days.

Got home to one blown out fence panel, no power, and no network, but we believe that seems to be the extent of it. We were very, very lucky. Others in our subdivision didn't fare so well, but nothing like the damage we expected.

The hurricane which by all blessings hit the coast as a Cat 3 and not a Cat 4 or 5 was almost directly centered over our house. A little north and the damage would have been far worse (on the back side of the spin). A little south and everything would have been even better (for us)..

Hopefully no one else here was affected by either Helene or Milton. Hopefully the potential hurricane Nadine decides to go home instead of crashing the party next week.

The image of Tropicana Field Stadium's missing roof hits home for Lisa and I. We almost regularly attended ball games there every couple of weeks and would have been sitting on the ground floor underneath all that falling metal.

Am so glad you both are o.k., and your home stayed intact. Thank you, bless your heart, for keeping in touch and easing our minds. I have a good friend who lives right in the middle of where the storm hit.........she only was able to post she was o.k.

Glad to hear you and your wife are ok and with minimal damage. Glad you also heard from your friend, Poirot.

Such a devestating disaster.

Hi everyone, I am back, lol. Blessed no repairs needed on our home. but two homes on our street are demolished. Please pray for the folks everywhere who had damage, or lost their homes.

I just got my internet back late yesterday, guess living in the boonies, has both its good points and bad points. I missed you all and appreciate the good words you shared with me here. It sure is good to be back. I am fine, but Cookie is going to the vet today, my son's dog had severe fleas, and even though Cookie had protection, she picked up some fleas. She has a raw spot on her tail where she just kept scratching. She was so happy there, she could run free in the backyard and play with the kids to her delight. She slept on my pillow every night lol when I say sleeping on my pillow I mean ON my pillow lengthwise allowing me about about 6 inches for my head. I think she wanted to make sure I did not leave her.

Thanks again all, for all the prayers and love. We are ok, just some giant tree limbs to clear up, and a neighbor will do that for me for a price, lol:clap:

Thanks for the update, Cookies Mom. I'm glad your home is ok. Good luck getting rid of the fleas.

Cookies Mom: Thank you for checking in and letting us know you are okay. We missed you here!

I am so sorry for your neighbors. These storms are so random the way they take out a house here, a house there, not always in consecutive order.

So sweet about Cookie. I hope she gets relief from the fleas soon.

Still sending prayers to all affected and dealing with the aftermath.
