Yo have me on the edge of my seat. Oops fell out of my seat and ripped my pants waiting for the next chapter. Oh no there is a draft in here. :DThanks for the story.

AAAAAAAHHHHHHH! You stopped before the reason! I really love this storyline, it's full of greatness! :) ...oh and I'm a blonde that was in a math club (high school) hee hee....still love you though! :)

Hee hee, Dreden. I love it! I have a confession to make. I, CTG...am a blonde. But I still laugh at blonde jokes. :) :) :) Thank you for the compliment!

Disclaimer: CTG is NOT responsible for any injuries incurred falling out of chairs, ROTFL, or spitting tea/coffee on the computer screen/keyboard while reading this story. Thank you, and goodnight! (love ya'll!!)

Argh! I can't wait to find out what Chloe did to earn the money. I need to know now. I think it's not what CTG is trying to make us think it might be. I think it might be something else. Am I right? LOL.

Shame for you, Kpatch. As a fellow writer, you should know I cannot tell you. But I am sure you all have no idea where I am going with this. :evillaugh:

Is it Thursday yet??? squirrel pouts 'cuz she wants to know what Chloe did to get the money.

Wait a minute......CTG might be trying to pull one over on us. Maybe Chloe didn't do anything bad. She couldn't have cut her hair because she wouldn't be able to hide that from Philip. Maybe she sold her wedding ring???

:)Heh heh. It will be Thursday before you know it. No, Chloe didn't cut her hair. (She couldn't be wearing a wig, even READING it, we would know it was fake. Remember Nicole's black wig??) LOL. Patience my friends. :)

Oh, and Kpatch, yes. You are off the clock when you visit CTG land. Well deserved break it is, dear. :)

It is Thursday I am so excited I feel like a kid on Christmas day. When are we going to get to open the presents? Will check in later. I am thinking that she sold something very special to her.

My bad. I am sooo sorry. I had to go to my sister's house and take care of her. She sprained her ankle pretty bad yesterday. Lucky me...I have access to her computer. Today's chapter will be up very soon. I promise!
Hugs - CTG

Philip and Chloe's place - Philip is concerned over Chloe's sudden guilt...

Philip: What are you talking about? You told me you had sold a ring you had years ago and never really wore it. What is going on, Chloe?

Chloe: (sighs) Well. I am really sorry, but there was no ring. I had to do something, Philip. I couldn’t just sit around and be hounded by EJ, his goons, or any of it. Just listen to me, and if you want to be mad, fine. I get it. Okay?

Philip: What did you do? I hope you didn’t visit the red light district of Salem and..

Chloe: Um, excuse me? Do you honestly think I would sell my body for money? Is that what you..

Philip: Of course not. But the way you are carrying on, it made me wonder.

Chloe: Just listen, and if you think I did the wrong thing, I will understand. Well, you remember the fund raiser at the hospital for Parker a few weeks ago?

Philip: Of course. Surprised the devils playground out of me that EJ donated money. Not much, but he was there, I remember. And he taunted me then about how much rent we owed.

Chloe: That’s just it. EJ didn’t donate anything. He just brought a check from Dimera Enterprises. But what I found out is there was supposed to be a bigger check. Quite a lot bigger as a matter of fact. It was from Swift Kick and Run.

Philip: Chad’s dojo? Really?

Chloe: Yes! Chad donated a million dollars toward Parker’s hospital bills and expenses. But EJ found out about it, and I don’t know how, but he stopped it from reaching the hospital. I bumped in to Chad a few days after the fund raiser, and I mean literally bumped into him. I was crying, upset. A real mess. He started talking to me about Parker, and I started crying even more.

Philip: Baby…

Chloe: I have my moments, Philip. I can’t always hold it together!

Philip: But you never..in front of me. You don’t show it.

Chloe: No. I don’t. I want to be strong in front of Parker. I have to be.

Philip: Still. Anyway, sweetheart. Tell me the rest.

Chloe: Well, the conversation turned into Chad asking me about the fund raiser. He found out by the total I gave him there was no way the money he donated made it into the final amount. We started getting curious, and he found out EJ somehow messed with the money. He hasn’t figured that out yet. Though, he felt so bad about it, he invited me over to his house that afternoon. And, he cut me a check for the rent and a little more. That is how I was able to buy Christmas for Parker.

Philip: You accepted money from a Dimera? Why would you…

Chloe: Philip! I had no choice. And you know Chad. He is a responsible sweet guy. He is no Dimera! Not like EJ. Not like Andre was. Nothing close to Stefano. You should know that. He’s even nicer than Lexi.

Philip: He better be. Lexi is no saint. Look what she put my own brother through! Stealing Zack away from them for all that time. Knowing full well that JT was not even Bo and Hope’s son. Sick and twisted. And people think I’m a villain.

Chloe: Of course you aren’t Philip. But can’t you understand why I did it? Please tell me you do. I love you. I adore Parker. I can’t handle knowing I hurt you over this.

Philip: No Chloe. I understand. I just simply hate the fact I don’t have the money I once did. There was a time when I could have already had Parker cured and us living in the most splendid mansion money could buy. The thing that kills me is I am not doing what I should. It really is a huge stab at my ego. Seriously.

Chloe: It’s going to be alright, Philip. We will survive this. I promise you that.

Philip: I hope you are right, sweetheart. I hope you are right.

EJ and Arianna are watching at the window still, Ari shaking her head in disbelief.

Arianna: You are the quintessential Scrooge, EJ Dimera. Stealing money from a child? How could you possibly get any lower? No. Don’t answer that. Because I am sure you could. Let’s go look around at more of the good citizens of Salem. If I hear any more from Chloe and Philip about you, I think I will just have to shoot you myself. Bless Samantha Brady’s heart. I had no idea, EJ.

EJ: Et tu’, Arianna?

Wow. That was a good one. Didn't suspect any of that. Thanks for another awesome chapter CTG!

great chapter, well worth the wait, and what an angel you are to help out your sister.

hugs

Ahh. I was thinking for sure she was hook'n for cash! That was a sweet little twist to what I had in mind. Thanks for the chapter, looking forward to the next one! :)

Boy I love the way Chloe got the money. So glad she did not have to give up anything special to her. Super that it was EJ's brother that ended up helping. So looking foreward to the next chapter.

Hope your sister feels better CTG.

As for EJ, now you've done it. Taken a cure away from an innocent child. Good luck redeeming him now. I'm quite interested to see how this will turn out. Thanks for the story Tex.

Arianna looks at EJ incredulously. It was hard to believe she thought of him as a friend. It was so obvious now to her he only thought of himself... She closes her eyes, and instantly they are taken to downtown Salem. The place where patrons stop at the Java Café, Barron’s, and wander on down to the Brady pub for hot chowder and half empty coffee cups. But now, the streets are empty, filled with snow. It is only a short time before midnight, and it will be Christmas day.

EJ: Why are we here? Nothing going on. Decide to give me a little reprieve?
Ari: Hardly. For the life of me EJ, I don’t see how the powers that be could think you could be redeemed. You are as low as an ant to a snake’s belly.
EJ: Since when did you start talking like a southerner?
Ari: Since I started hanging around Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, and Jerry Reed in heaven.
EJ: Surely you can’t be serious.
Ari: Oh, I am very serious. And stop calling me Shirley. By the way, do you see that coffee shop over there?
EJ: What is it?
Ari: It’s a building that serves expensive caffeinated beverages, but that’s not important right now. What you need to focus on is the person that is inside, cleaning up the place.
EJ: Why?
Ari: Quite asking me dumb questions and just do it!
EJ: Fine, fine. (EJ exaggerates furrowing his eyebrows and squinting his eyes to look through the window at the coffee shop)

The woman inside still cleaning the place is Nicole Walker. She has taken a job with a housekeeping firm that is owned by none other than Dimera Enterprises. Obviously the company doesn’t care about time off for holidays, the hours of which their employees work, or any of that nice stuff. Nope, nope. After Brady kicked Nicole to the curb, she had to support herself and Sydney somehow. But, humility is a strange thing. Sometimes it can either make a person, or it can break them into.

Nicole: (talking to herself, like most Salemites do) Oh, Sydney. I hope you are warm in your bed tonight. Cause mommy is freezing her hind end off. But it’s going to be okay. Seven years old. I cannot believe how them time has flown by. At least Hope and Bo were gracious enough to let you spend the night with them. I don’t know what I would have done had it not been for Hope…faith, and charity. (Sorry folks, I couldn’t resist the word play.)
