Days of Our Lives - Monday, October 28, 2024

Off topic, a little bit more Spanish knowledge is that many times, they add "ito" (for a boy) and "ita" (for a girl) to the end of children's names as a sign of affection. For instance, Gabi's relatives could've called her Gabriellita as a little girl, or Rafe could've been called Rafito or Rafaelito. I learned that from good friends who moved here from Spain many years ago. All of the little ones end up with "ito" and "ita" at the ends of the their names.

Not that Days cares a whit about such minutia but I guess we're to believe that Javi is the son of Eduardo's brother. So that the aunt who was so fond of Rafe (Javi's mother) wasn't a blood relation? Otherwise, Javi's last name wouldn't be Hernandez. Not that such a scenario would be all that unusual but it just seems a little forced. And didn't Gabi say they'd lost touch with "that side" of the family?

Oh, well. I'm sure I'm overthinking this.
Couldn't she have been their mother's sister? She would have had a different last name.

Thanks for the summary.

Sounds like Javi is definitely "out there" but hopefully less of a miserable character than Leo (who, admittedly, I have grown to like more). I don't mind that he or Leo are more effeminate, as those kinds of people are out there. And they've already had other gay characters who aren't stereotypical. But I wish his introduction was done a bit better.

I enjoyed everything else about the show. I'm sure it's a set up for Stefan and Gabi reuniting years down the road, which I'm all for. I do wish we could've seen Stefan and Ava have an actual relationship, something else I would settle for in the future. But I didn't want them to reunite yet, because I'm actually intrigued by EJ and Gabi.
