Such a good show! No Body and Soul. Coincidence?

Townhouse. Brady and Eric embrace. Brady thinks Eric for helping him. He can't believe he trusted Fiona, a woman he barely knew, who turned out to be a homicidal maniac. Eric assures him that the right person is behind bars.

Complete replay of Fiona and Sarah. Fiona toasts to her freedom while Sarah scowls.

Replay of Philip coming in to stop the transfer of Titan. He calls Xander "big brother" and says he's there to stop him throwing away their father's legacy.

It's Gabi's cousin Javi at the door. He annoys me right off the jump by proclaiming "He's here, he's queer, and Salem had better get used to it!". Like, no issues with the gay, but much issue with the dumb over the top in your face writing.

Stefan replay chat to Stefano followed by strangle and couch plop. Masked man reveals himself to be Ivan. Vivian comes in and praises his excellent work. Ivan thanks Madame. She points out that they've known each other for years and he can call her Vivian.

Ivan is her loyal servant and would not dream of using her first name. Vivian is just glad they are in cahoots again. She asks him to check if Stefan is breathing. Ivan confirms he still lives. Viv hates to resort to draconian tactics, but this is all for his own good.

Javi and Gabi chit chat about his dead mom and the letter Rafe received. Javi is upset that his mom sent the ring. Rafe is the son she always wanted, while Javi is the son she got.

Fiona tells Sarah that her attorney got EJ to change his mind. She isn't facing any charges. Sarah points out Fiona's crimes of vehicular near homicide followed by attempted murder by stairs. Fiona says that her freedom is all thanks to Sarah.

Philip muses that the last time he was in this room Alex was his new half-brother. He wasn't exactly thrilled that his dad's company was in the hands of that vainglorious jerk, no offense Justin. But Alex is Steve Jobs compared to Xander. He's only been CEO for a few months and he's packing it in and handing it all to Kristen. Once he got wind of this idiotic deal, he had to do all he could to block it. Xander is seething at him throughout this speech while Kristen is looking irritated.

Philip screams that he's Victor's son too. Xander yells but he didn't leave Titan to you! He tells Philip he has no legal right. Philip begs to differ.

Vivian knew the impending divorce was too good to be true. Stefan has a weakness for Gabi Hernandez. She tells inert Stefan that his mama is here to make sure he never falls prey to a cuckolding shrew again.

Gabi doesn't think it was intended to be a slight against Javi. He rightfully feels that way. Gabi says his mom just knew that Rafe would be more likely to give it to a woman. Javi says what if he wanted to give it to a man? Or wear it himself? He tries it on but notes that it's nothing compared to Gabi's rock. Gabi whines that she won't be wearing it much longer as she is about to be divorced.

Fiona explains the confusing testimony from Sarah leading to her release. Sarah points out that only happened so she could save Fiona's son from committing nephew murder. Fiona notes that it was a noble gesture that worked out in her favor. Sarah points out that Brady also remembers.

Brady owes it all to Eric. He flew from Paris to support him, but as grateful as he is to be clear, his conscious is not. If he hadn't been drunk, Fiona would never have been in his car. Eric tells him he needs to forgive himself and stay sober. Brady lets him know that there is a chance for Sarah to walk again. Thanks to Kristen.

Kristen peaces out. She doesn't want to watch Kiriakis family drama. Xander pleads with her, but she takes off, telling him he can keep the first vial, and he can let her know when he's ready to deal for the second.

Xander turns on Philip. He has no rights to Titan. "Father" didn't even put him in his will. Philip says only because Victor was protecting him from his legal troubles. Xander notes that he faked his death and framed Brady. Justin is wondering how he ended up in this family? Philip points out that Brady let him off the hook and now he's able to be alive again and is prepared to assert his rights. Xander says Philip's only right is to watch while he does what he wants. That's what Victor wanted. Philip pulls out a letter and says, actually, it’s not.

The letter appeared at the psych facility right before Victor's death. It conveniently only made it to Philip now. Victor told him that he had made a new will and would have liked the option to leave Titan to him but could not due to him faking being dead. Philip states that he is the rightful heir and it's only by happenstance that he's not. Xander wants to know why he didn't make this claim earlier? Philip reiterates that he did not know about the letter until now. Xander asks Justin if Philip has any legal standing? Justin says enough to block the Titan transfer for now.

Xander changes tactics. He tells Philip about the serum. This is his wife. He appeals to him as his brother. He begs him to drop the lawsuit. Philip says not a chance in hell.

Brady recaps the whole serum for his release saga. Eric is dubious. It seems out of character for Kristen to be generous. Brady says she's full of surprises lately. There is a knock on door and Brady opens it to: Like this one! Says Kristen smugly.

Fiona notes that Brady's drunken recollections are also iffy court material. Sarah reminds her she confessed to her, Xander and Brady. Fiona says but not to the police. And since Fiona didn’t tell the police she was responsible, and didn’t admit to confessing to anybody, she is in the clear. She swills some more alcohol. Sarah is all oh my god.

Javi is recapping the Stefan adultery and Gabi retaliation adultery with her. It's like an episode of Real Housewives. He apologizes for the crack when he sees how sad Gabi is. She is hurting. And not only that, but she is also having second thoughts about ending her marriage. She is still in love with Stefan. Is that stupid? Javi says you can’t choose who you love, if you could, he would have had a far easier time growing up in Texas. He quotes, in Spanish: The heart wants what it wants. Gabi says Stefan wanted the divorce. She's expecting papers any minute. Javi says maybe he will remember the beautiful sexy woman he is married to and forget how to sign his name when it comes to the moment.

Vivian is going over the divorce papers and grousing that they are far too generous. Ivan agrees, especially since Gabi cheated on him with his own brother. She wants to make adjustments, but Ivan cautions her not to raise suspicions. Viv concedes and says she will just sign as Stefan. Ivan queries if she can adequately forge his signature? Vivian notes "forgery happens to be one of my great talents." She signs Stefan O DiMera. Her son is free at last. She returns the pen to Ivan and says “Cahoots!” I love them.

Ivan offers to deliver the papers. Viv wants to do it, discreetly. Viv tells Ivan to take care of her son. They pop Stefan's wedding ring into the envelope. Vivian apologizes to prone Stefan. He will be angry with her one day but it is the best thing he could do for him. Ivan warns her not to linger. Viv tells Stefan she loves him and will see him soon.

Javi has helped Gabi realize she still loves Stefan. Enough about her, what about him? Now that his mom is dead he wants a fresh start. He would like to follow his dreams instead of having then stepped on. His mom is kind of needy and complicated, he means was. God rest her soul. They both do a quick sign of the cross. All he owns is in his car. Gabi invites him to move in. Rafe will love it! Javi says even if he's wearing his ring. Gabi says as long as he is only borrowing it, it's cool. He says they will have so much fun! Javi needs to job hunt. Gabi has the best idea, come work for her.

Eric suddenly needs to go and pack. Brady thanks him again. Eric is glad it worked out. He needs to get home to Nicole and Jude. They bro hug. Eric tersely says goodbye to Kristen. She settles on the couch and purrs alone at last. Brady looks trapped.

Sarah doesn't understand. What happened to the woman so desperate to make amends with Xander, who would play with Victoria for hours? Who claimed to love Sarah like a daughter? Was that all a lie? Fiona crumbles. It was real. She would give anything to get that back. But she is somewhat self-aware. Her bravado is just a way to cope. And drinking dulls the pain of knowing that she has ruined everything, as she always does. Sarah is unsympathetic and starts to roll away. Fiona calls her back. She has a favor to ask, although she knows she has no right to ask.

Xander asks Philip if he understands what is at stake for Sarah? Philip does, but he correctly points out that there is no guarantee that the serum even works (THANK YOU PHILIP). And even if it is legit, is it even worth giving up a multi billion-dollar company? Xander immediately says yes, this is Sarah, the love of his life, his wife, the mother of his daughter, think about what this means to Sarah. Justin looks solemn.

Philip thinks he brought this on himself. Xander wants to know what he means by that? Philip says that the accident would not have even happened if Xander had not been naive about a woman who apparently treated him like crap when he was a kid and then abandoned him. Xander warns him to watch where he is going with this line of talk. Philip is just saying if Xander had been paying more attention he would have noticed his mother was still a hopeless drunk before she mowed down his wife. Xander has had enough now and goes for Philip.

Brady wants to know what brings Kristen by? She tosses him a car key. She bought him a new car. She had his old car crushed into a tiny little cube so she is replacing it. Brady notes that the keys are for a car with a waiting list years long. Kristen says that he is going to be seeing much more of Rachel and their daughter deserves to be driven in style. Also it is self-driving, just in case.

Brady tells Kristen she does not need to worry about that. He is sober and going to meetings. Kristen is so proud of him. Brady is pleased with how generous Kristen is being. Even Eric was impressed that she is just handing that drug over to Sarah. Kristen demurs that she hasn’t quite done that yet.

Justin is ineffectually trying to pull a raging Xander off of Philip. Xander releases him. Justin tells him he should go and cool off. Xander warns Philip that he is not getting away with this. Philip says "Whatever you say, Bro!" Xander stalks out of the room. Justin turns on Philip. Philip does a weird thing with his hands and face and says “Philip, what? You can’t seriously think it’s a good idea for him to give away the company?”

Justin has reservations, but you can’t expect this to be easy for Xander, it’s not just business, he is doing it for his wife. Philip is doing this for his father. Justin knew Victor better than anyone, so he would know that he would be devastated to think they were giving up his company. Philip is going to honor his memory by making sure that never happens.

Javi asks if Gabi really wants him to work at Gabi Chic? Gabi is in desperate need of a new personal assistant. Javi wants to know what happened to the last one, did she fire her? Gabi says not exactly. Javi asks "so she quit?" Gabi says no. Javi asks if he's walking into a Devil Wears Prada sitch? Gabi tells him that Connie tried to kill her, and Rafe, and now she is in the loony bin where she belongs. Javi wants to know if he will get free stuff? Gabi promises loads of freebies. Javi is in. He goes to get his stuff from the car. He finds the divorce papers on the porch. Gabi opens them and is bereft.

Stefan is tied up in the trunk of Ivan’s car. He is awake and recognizes Ivan. Ivan tells him it is good to see him again. Stefan wants to know what is going on? Ivan apologizes for the discomfort, but he is following his mother’s orders. Stefan realizes that Viv is having him kidnapped. Where are they going? Ivan says back to the motherland. Stefan realizes he is on a one-way trip to Alamania. But why? Ivan informs him that he is going to begin a new life, away from Gabi Hermandez. Stefan struggles against his tethers and mutters "no."

Brady wants to know why Sarah doesn’t have the drug? Kristen isn’t going back on her word, is she? Kristen lies that she is not, she already met Xander and gave him the first part of the serum. Brady wants to know why she has not given him the whole thing? Kristen fibs that Rolf is still working on finishing it, and she will give it up as soon as things are "all sorted out."

Xander is looking at the vial of serum and cursing Philip. Sarah wheels in. Xander is so glad she is home. He needs to talk to her about Kristen. First, Sarah has something he needs to know. Fiona is free, and not facing any charges. Xander wants to know how that is possible? Sarah will explain it all, but Fiona wanted her to give him this. She hands him a letter.

We cut to Fiona still in the Square, finalizing her bill, as she voiceovers the letter: "Dear Xander, I know I’ve made a terrible mess of things and I don’t expect you to forgive me. But please know that I did honestly try to change for you. I wanted so badly to be part of your life, part of my granddaughter’s life, I just couldn’t quite pull it off in the end, obviously. Perhaps one day, in the not-too-distant future, I will really change and become a person worthy of your forgiveness. (we see her drinking the last of her martini). God willing. But even if that never happens, I want you to know that I do love you so much, and I always will. And I’m so proud of the man you’ve become. Love, Mum." She walks away.

Xander crumbles up the letter. Sarah wants to know if he is ok? Xander is just angry; she got away with what she did to Sarah, but at least she is out of their lives. Sarah wants to know how it went with Kristen? That’s what he must talk to her about.

Philip arrives at Vivian’s Salem Inn room. She wants to know how it went? He says, as expected, Xander’s head exploded. He was counting on using Titan to get Sarah the miracle drug. Vivian titters that Xander will just have to find another way to help his invalid wife. Because soon, Titan will belong to US. She cups Philip’s face in her hand. Philip looks less than happy. I think that we know where that “Victor” letter manifested from, from this self-admitted master forger.

Gabi can’t believe Stefan signed the papers. Javi says maybe she should go talk to him. If she was having second thoughts maybe he was too. Gabi finds the ring. She knows Stefan meant to sign now. This is the same scenario as when Kristen tricked Xander into thinking Sarah left him. Here we Re-Ron again.

Stefan begs Ivan to release him. He needs to stay in Salem and fight for his marriage. Ivan tells him that Madam thinks that is a bad idea. Stefan wants to know what that means? Ivan says it is best if Stefan relaxes and tries to enjoy the ride. He goes to close the trunk. He needs to get to Gabi and tell her he loves her. Ivan slams it shut, we hear poor Stefan’s muffled pleas for release and iterations of love for Gabi. Strangely jazzy music plays over the credits.

Looks like Leo's going to be getting a new love interest.

Frankly, I think Xander is nuts to want to give up Titan. Nobody ever said Sarah may not heal in time. I think Victor would think he's crazy. I want to know how Ivan, who is no spring chicken, could drag Stefan out of the mansion and get him in a car trunk? The writers must have cotton in their heads instead of any real brain matter. If Peacock didn't cost so much, I think I could quit watching. Hardly anyone I really care about is left.

Brady opens it to: Like this one! Says Kristen smugly.
So in this case we have a Salemite who can hear through closed doors.
Eric suddenly needs to go and pack.
I thought he was staying at the townhouse. Did him move to his dad's when Brady got out of jail?
Philip does a weird thing with his hands and face and says “Philip, what?
Yeah, that was a weird thing.

Thanks for the summary it was a good show.

Guess the writers wanted to let us know quickly, that Javi is gay.......they picked a lousy way to do it, for sure.

Can someone in charge let wardrobe know that in the mid-west, it is end of October, nearly November, it is chilly out, and folks dress accordingly. They are in long sleeves, sometimes a sweater ...INDOORS....cuz they do not keep thermostats at 80. (raised in Chicago, I know whereof I speak, family is still there, tho am up north.)

Sorry, just bugs me to see characters in sleeveless, backless, barely covering their butts and bare-legged, when the area is having 50s, 60s. (and yes, unusually mild autumn, but since they filmed 6 mos ago, they would not have known that. Doubt folks are sleeveless, backless anyway. Off the soapbox.

He annoys me right off the jump by proclaiming
This annoys me, too. Has he never spoken to Gabi about the gay community in Salem? Does he not know she raised/is raising a child with two prominent local homosexuals? Weird.
He calls Xander "big brother"
This makes sense but is actually a change, right? Didn't we establish Philip was older than Xander was when the latter was introduced?

Why do they have to insult gay men by having them so obnoxious and over the top? Leo is bad, but now to have him join another one like that is not fun to watch for most people. Again, I have no problems with gay people, just the over-the-top flamboyancy these writers seem to love and think is representative of gay men. In my experience, it is not.

The ages are all messed up. Alex (not Xander) should be older than Stephanie and Theresa. Brady should be the youngest of them all, yet Brady (Eric Martsolf) is the oldest out of any of them. I'm assuming Alex and Xander would be the same age (again the actors aren't even that close in real life) since everyone thought that Victor was Alex's (not Xander's) father.

In terms of Philip and Xander, Xander would be older than Philip, otherwise, are we supposed to believe that Victor had his affair with Fiona after Philip was born? As I said, they've got these ages all out of whack. I kind of assumed that Xander would be older than Brady also, but I think Xander once said Brady was like an older brother when they were kids so that made no sense.

He did, he said he watched Daniel and Brady running around together (which we never saw happen on-screen since the Daniel character was created way after Brady was already grown) and Xander wanted to be like them. They've completely messed up the ages of the Kiriakis offpsring.

They’ve had a pretty wide range of gay men on the show (Will, Sonny, Paul, Andrew). The only flamboyant, somewhat femme one is Leo, and there are some men like him.

I’m curious to see how the Philip and Vivian story progresses. I hope Philip helps Xander keep the company AND get the serum. I really don’t want to sit through another dumb corporate fight, and I think having Xander and Philip find a way to being friendly is actually more interesting than underhanded sniping.

He calls Xander "big brother"
This makes sense but is actually a change, right? Didn't we establish Philip was older than Xander was when the latter was introduced?
No, Daniel and Brady were "the big brothers he never had" while Philip was at camp and younger when Xander spent time with the older boys in Greece.

I asked Paul Telfer (Xander) in his birthday zoom last night if Philip and Brady being brothers would change anything for them? He said that basically Philip goes from being a cousin he hates to a brother he hates. He still resents Philip and thinks he got everything handed to him. Paul said which is ironic considering Philip has one leg and has had almost as miserable a life as Xander. He asked if there is any hope Isabella might be alive, as that is his best shot at a positive sibling relationship. lol

Wow...........o.k. I always liked Philip, but I did NOT like his entrance into Salem, especially with Vivian. wish both would have arrived separately.

I miss Nicole.

Javi's arrival was just too "over the top".

Perhaps the writers truly need to visit other areas in the midwest to get a better perspective.

If they refer to it at all, she probably sold it.

I want to know how they will deal with the death of Doug..........and then it will be John . They have cut back a lot on using the older characters. It truly has been great the actors have been willing to appear, as they get older. Am sure they all have the same aches, pains, problems any of us do as we age, retire, visit our doctors more often, etc.
