Just now watching. I am thinking the "new" black and white footage is present day (the mystery person and his cell mate). So coincidence that the mystery guy also had a cell mate named Bill??

The new black and white scenes on yesterday's shows were new, they weren't old or recreated flashbacks. The young man in the jail cell is a new character and that was his introduction to the show. Heck, at the end of the show today, it cut off right at the beginning of the cast credits........

Maggie, etc. and then Roman Brady......and bingo, off it goes, and begins a different show.

Yes, I had already read the Crystal Ball. Just commenting on how they presented his introduction, paralleling Doug's introduction on the show, and coincidence this new guy had a cellmate named Bill.
