I guess your remark about Rafe being unable to light fires sent everyone off in a different direction. But. to repeat myself, did not like the character at all first time round, don't want to see Brandon back at all.

What was the difference between what Brandon did and what Kim did? If given a choice, I prefer to see Kim.
Maybe both Kim and Brandon are needed. One could specialize in rape and incest cases, the other in domestic violence and interpersonal relationships, bipolar disorder, depression, etc. Their case loads could easily overlap. Marlena could specialize in everyday angst and family drama.

I think the biggest child in Salem recently moved to L.A. 
I'll reiterate that although Brandon never did it for me, one way or the other, I really don't want anyone from the past coming back on for these writers to ruin and/or backburner.

Brandon could help Ciara out, and find out just what all she keeps in that backpack of hers .
I would like Brandon around for support for Nicole and to give Abe a hand now and then with Theo, but there is already so many male characters in that age group and not enough 30 something strong women around. I agree that bringing Carrie and Belle back would be great, but they are married and I really would not like the writers breaking up fairly solid couples just to have single women on the show. They could also bring back Sarah Horton.
