Yes and no. The person who is trying to stay clean does bear some responsibility for avoiding situations and people that trigger using behavior, though support in figuring out and avoiding triggers (and in coping with life in general) is also vital. In Brady's case, he seems to respond to Kristen's advances by turning to Theresa, as if proving to himself he's moved on. Not good, especially since Theresa is not good for his sobriety for the reasons you point out.
