Many people here, including myself, also have blamed Corday and the other IIC in these threads though.

Corday pays no attention at all to story, scripts, etc. But the NBC & Sony suits DO and HAVE stuck their noses into shows demanding this or that. I have read interviews with some writers/ producers of prime time shows that left the show because of the interference and "insistence" on certain avenues by those suits, and it did not take long thereafter, for those shows to lose viewership because of direction, characters no longer being the characters that attracted viewers in the first place.

But what's funny is that in interviews, Corday acts like he has his finger in each piece of the Days pie, every single day. Meanwhile, it's obvious he barely knows what's going on.
He probably thinks Marlena is still married to Don Craig, Roman is played by Wayne Northrup, Renee DiMera is still alive, Claire is still Philip's daughter, Kate doesn't know Austin and Billie are her children, Stefano is still dead, wonders why Sami and Eric call Chris Kositchek "Dad" and can't, for the life of him, figure out why Luis Lopez-Fitzgerald (Galen Gering's/Rafe character on Passions) and Ethan Winthrop (Eric Martsolf's/Brady character on Passions) are in Salem.
