I get that HM but somehow still can't stomach the thought of Eve and Shane being in the same scene with her calling him Daddy. In reality, the actors are only 6 years apart. I know Kate and Lucas are a stretch at 13 years apart but they can pull it off believably because Bryan Dattilo (Lucas) plays immature very well.

Barbara Bel Geddes (Miss Ellie) was only 9 years older than Larry Hagman (JR) and they were very convincing as mother and son (on Dallas).

There are several actors who are close in age that played parent/child believably on-screen.

:OT: Estelle Getty, who played Sophia on the Golden Girls, was actually one year younger than Bea Arthur, who played her daughter Dorothy on the show. Even more hilarious, Vicki Lawrence, who played Mama in Mama's family, was 16 years younger than Carol Burnett, who played her daughter Eunice.:back:

Kassie DePaiva's (Eve) age does not bother me. The actress is only a few years older than Eve's age, which should be mid 40's. My biggest complaint is that she does not act like Charlotte Ross's Eve and seems more like a new character.

I know there are many cases where an actor/actress successfully plays a character much older/younger than they really are. In this particular case, both Kassie Depaiva (Eve) and Charles Shaughnessy (Shane) both seem pretty true to age in how they come across. She doesn't come off as much younger than him the way Charlotte Ross (ex-Eve) did. But that's just my personal opinion. TIIC don't care about fan opinions anyhow.

@Heather I read an interview with Kassie De Paiva (Eve) recently where she said she doubted she and Shane would ever share scenes because they are too close in age.

Well, this thread is about Serena, and it sure is odd that somehow she became such good friends with Melanie over in Europe. Was Melanie working as a nurse there, thus met this medical research journalist in the course of the job?
Melanie has not said a word about working as a nurse in Europe, just running around to casinos playing blackjack.
And Serena became such good friends with Melanie, so heard all the gossip from there, and since Eric was no longer a priest, decided to actually move to Salem. Hmmmm.

Eve is not the same age as the actress who plays her. She and Jen went to high school together and Jen is supposed to be around 40, not 50.

I think Jennifer's actually supposed to be late 40s, as are Daniel, Aiden, Hope, Bo, etc

I wonder if Serena is using Melanie to get to Eric. Something about her doesn't sit right with me. Plus the way she didn't want Marlena to see her tells me she is probably a bit devious. Nonetheless, I'm sure Maxine will blab to Marlena first chance she gets.
