According to this article, the young man shown in the Day of Days promo is Doug Williams III, grandson of Doug, which presumably makes him Dougie LeClair's son.

Was Dougie LeClair actually Doug's son?
Yes, Dougie is Doug's biological son.

After Addie (Julie, Steven, and Hope's mother) died, Doug wanted another child. He decided to have one with a surrogate. Then he and Julie reunited and he figured they'd have a child at some point, so he called off the surrogacy plans, unaware a surrogate had already conceived.

He had a pregnant housekeeper and had no idea she was the surrogate. Her name was Rebecca North. Rebecca had no idea Doug was the sperm donor she was supposed to be carrying a baby for. Robert LeClair loved Rebecca. She liked him, but wasn't in love with him, although she did agree to marry him when he asked, to give her child a name. They named the baby after Robert's best friend, Doug, and asked him to be the godfather.

At some point, Doug found out little Dougie was his son, but it was all kept quiet. Later, Rebecca and Robert divorced, and she reconnected with an old boyfriend and married him. They left town with little Dougie. Then they were killed in a accident. Robert went to get Dougie, since he was his legal father. They moved to France and we never saw little Dougie again. Supposedly he renamed the child Charles.

Dougie had a Horton ornament since the Hortons all loved him. It was identical to Hope's. It appears when Hope's ornament broke, the prop department just painted her name over Dougie's ornament, back in the day. So, Dougie was "ornament worthy" when he was in Salem.

Here is Hope with Dougie:

Here's Dougie's ornament before it was repainted with Hope's name. Hope's current ornament was Dougie's:

If Dougie III is a bit of a con man, maybe he could swindle Kritter Kristen, EJ, or Shaggy Phil. They’d all deserve it.

Heck, on Days, anything can be changed when the writers change. LOL

We have seen it before........parentage, identity, etc. However, even a present writer gets an idea for a storyline, falling back on soapdom's often used "long lost relative, amnesia, mistaken identity plotlines.

However, I really like Jason D's idea for the name.....

I can't even decide if they should hash out the history for people. It's so convoluted and even explained it would be weird for people who have no idea who these characters are. Just be like he's Doug's grandson that we never talk about. I assume like everyone else that walks into town he'll be offered a spot on the fake soap while he's conning people or whatever.

Let me guess, Doug and Isabella had an affair during his 1980s divorce from Julie, and their son had a fling with Lexie everyone forgot to tell us about. Bingo, bango, Horton/DiMera/Kiriakis. Can we work an Anderson in there somewhere?

That would've been so funny!

Alas, we find out today that he is, in fact, Dougie LeClair's son. His name was Douglas LeClair, but he changed it to Douglas Williams.

We also get a brief update on Spencer Olson, Steven's son. He's gay. Steven tells Leo to look up Spencer since he's a great guy. (Leo complains about not being able to find a nice guy)
