Thankfully one goes by Alex and the other one Xander. And from the beginning, it was said Xander's full name was Alexandros, until the storyline with Victor's will, then it was changed to say that his given name was Alexander, and Alexandros was just a nickname.

That was such a lovely throwback to the past.

The show was a dud, and obviously intended for Christmas Eve, no idea why the shift or what happened. I really liked the reference to the past, when Mickey gifted Maggie with the red shoes. But that was about it.

Don't like this new Doug, or understand why Julie trusts him so instantly. However, I am hoping that seeing the kindness in all the family, perhaps will change this jewel thief's mind about stealing from his loving, accepting family.

I really hate the Holly and Tate stuff. We're supposed to just watch, waiting for the blowup to happen. Yay sounds fun. That's basically the entire show now.

Looks like Little Dougie III and Holly had a bit of a snap-crackle-pop moment when they met yesterday. Maybe the Tot will have some competition.

Thanks for the summary. I wonder why Lucas and Belle weren’t at the ornament event? I feel like a few others in town also should have been, but maybe I’m wrong. In any case, this was a beautiful episode. Definitely a tear-jerker, though. I’m glad JJ is returning to Salem PD. He’ll be a good partner with Shawn-D.

Since Shawn-D and Belle are now divorced, she might've felt it would be awkward to be there. She was probably with Marlena off-screen. Lucas probably left town after Doug's funeral. Maybe he went to see Will, Sonny, Arianna, Allie and Henry.

I don't think baby Bo and baby Addie's ornaments are particularly nice. I see what they were going for, but the attempts fell flat (in my opinion). My apologies to the Days prop person who made those ones, but they're not as nice as the others. Holly's is pretty lackluster too. It should've matched Daniel's, Melanie's and Parker's, which were all done with similar swirls.

JS, they should have you design or redesign several ornaments. None of the current collection comes close to your special shirtless Xander ornament. The appearance of this special ornament would enhance Julie’s tired, same-old, same-old decorations.

Kudos to the writers for including a scene with shirtless Xander wearing his handsome kilt. Was it their way of making up for the wretched episodes that they have foisted on the viewers in the past year, especially the awful B&S b/s.

If JJ is going to rejoin the Salem P.D., Jada should do the right thing and warn him to stay far, far away from the demanding, rude, and overbearing Mayor Foghorn.

Finally, it was good of Sarah to give Xander an air fryer as a gift. Can he use it to make his special haggis recipe?
