Days of Our Lives - Wed., Dec. 4, 2024

I loved Leo with Steven and then Leo's remarks to Ciara and Lucas. This is what Leo is great for.

I don't think Steven has actually changed his ways. I think going in through the window again was an attempt find the necklace. Might have been to clear his name or he just figured since he was going to get blamed he might as well see if it was around.

I really hope Doug isn't even a relative. I really hate the idea that he'd change his name just because of his father. Like what? My man, your father was raised by Robert and he was his father. Robert LeClair is your grandfather. You don't get to just change your last name because of some random blood connection to a dude you don't even know. Sorry for the rant but I sort of hate how this show depicts adoptions or situations like this as an adoptee. Especially if they're getting a grandkid somehow into it. So I hope it's all fake.

It annoyed me when Dougie III referred to Robert and pronounced it like Americans would, when it was pronounced as "Roe-bear" the French way. If he grew up in Paris with Dougie Sr./Charles, you'd think they would've pronounced Robert's name correctly.

JS, Days never gets the details or even the basics right. (Just ask Poirot about its depiction of upper Midwest weather.) That said, if Robert called himself “Ro-bear,” Leo would probably be very interested in him. After all, our friend, Leo, has a thing for sophistication, both real and imagined.

Using the window as a 60+ year old person is quite possibly the dumbest thing Ron wrote, even the above-mentioned off the rails Lucas. I don't know many folks my age who routinely climb trees to access rooms.
Maybe Ron saw another 60+ year old Steven (pro wrestler "Sting") jumping off of ladders, and he got confused about which Steven he was writing for.

Robert Clary, who played Robert LeClair, was French, so he spoke with an accent. You probably remember him as LeBeau from Hogan's Heroes.

My mother mentioned this when I told her about Doug III and him being the son of Dougie. She doesn't watch Days anymore, but she used to and she remembers when Robert Clary (Robert LeClair) was on the show. She doesn't know the actor's name, but she mentioned that he was on Hogan's Heroes.

Most of you wouldn't remember, but one day Robert told Doug about being a victim of the Nazis and was in a concentration camp. He showed Doug the number tatooed on his arm. I think he got teary and you could have heard a pin drop on the set. Doug was so sincerely sympathetic. A very touching scene. I always wondered how he could play that role in Hogan's Heroes.

I was thrown as well, JS, with them pronouncing "Robert" instead of "Roe-bear". That's the way they always said his name when he was on. I don't remember anyone ever calling him "Robert".

Doug III is a blister caused by the irritant that is re-Ron's writing. He plucked a factoid from the past, copied a situation from the past (the first 20 or so were cute) to parallel the present, and had the character illogically change his name because he thinks viewers are stupid. Would we not relate to him as Doug's grandson if he was called Williams LeClair?

That said, the situation can be fixed. I hope the new EP/head writing team makes us care because the writing lag makes it impossible to develop another character like Doug Williams I.

Are we sure new Doug isn't lying who he is? He could have made up the story.
Guess we'll have to wait and see. Heaven forbid someone in the family picks up their phone, calls Little Dougie, a/k/a Charles LeClair and asks if has a son named Doug LeClair who changed his name to Doug Williams. Or as a last resort, ask Patch, Rafe or Eli to look into it.
