Horton Living Room - Marie asks Jennifer about the time capsule as Lucas looks on. Ciara talks about the diamond necklace. It's missing. Marie doesn't think anyone broke in. Lucas thinks maybe they didn't need to. Marie is confused. They speculate. Lucas's needle points to Steven.

Town Square - Replay of Steven talking to the plaque about what the old him would have done to the necklace. Leo is nearby, quotes Dolly Parton, playful music is presented during this scene. Leo tells him he's a gossip columnist but he won't print what was told to "Grandma and Grandpa". Steven and Leo introduce themselves, Steven asks Leo for a drink. Steven tells him he's Julie's brother after Leo deduces Steven's here for Doug's funeral. Leo admires Julie even though Julie doesn't like him, but then again most people don't. He goes on to say if people liked him, they might expect things from him, and he'd disappoint them. They both find the other personable and charming and are both desperate for friends.

Townhouse - Shawn-D is visiting Belle. He asks if it's okay as they didn't get a chance to talk at the memorial. Belle is sorry if she overstepped - she stepped in when Claire got sick to support his family. Belle adored Doug, Doug adored Belle. Now that they're in the same place, it's time to talk their marriage, per Shawn-D. They recap his rehab and how she kept a distance so he could focus on his recovery. Recap of their non-story continues for quite some time. Belle learns Bo squeezed Hope's finger. Belle is hopeful this is good news for Bo. Will Shawn-D let go of his guilt? Short answer is no, so he's not the man Belle fell in love with so she should maybe divorce him. She's the best person he knows, he does not deserve her. She still loves him but will draw up divorce papers. He's leaving and will let her know about Bo.

Doug's Grave - Julie mourns. What does she do now? She cries. Someone startles her. He claims to be Doug Williams. Julie says Doug is deceased. This youthful person knows Doug was crazy about Julie since the day he got out of prison. This youngster just got out of prison today. He also had a cellmate named Bill, but not Horton. He also changed his name. He was born Douglas LeClair, named after his father, who was born Dougie LeClair, but whose name was changed to Charles. The full story of Robert/Rebecca/Doug is rehashed.

Square - Leo and Steven talk about how long Steven has been gone. Steven had to leave Salem. Leo will listen and not judge. Steven tells him about his exploits in the late 1970s, selling canes filled with cocaine and fencing jewels. Leo talks about his own history of jewel liberation. Steven has reformed.

Horton Living Room - Jennifer wonders if Steven took the necklace. Marie talks about the stolen diamonds. Ciara and Lucas head to the plaque where they last heard Steven was headed.

Square - Steven wants to order the same beverage Javi ordered. Leo recaps. Lucas and Ciara come up and get confrontational about the necklace. Lucas is insanely confrontational (Ron hates him and I can't hide my rage in this instance for his hackery) and accuses Steven of meeting Leo to fence the necklace. There's some back and forth. Lucas wants to search/assault Steven, who has as much right to the necklace as Lucas, if not more. He tells Leo he's sorry that guy broke his heart, but he should look up his son, Spencer Olson, who happens to be gay. He leaves.

Horton Living Room - Marie, who is the grandmother of Nick, says leopards don't change their spots.

Doug's Grave - Douglas calls Julie Mrs. Williams and she asks him to call her Julie. He's tired and needs to rest. We don't learn why he was in jail. She invites him to her home.

Horton Living Room - Jennifer frets because she can't reach Lucas or Ciara. Julie enters and introduces Doug Williams. Not her Doug, but Doug's grandson. Little Dougie's son. The second miracle today. They talk about the time capsule. Julie wonders where it is. Jennifer says it's stored for safety. Later, Julie is going to make up a room for young Doug. Marie is leaving because she has a flight. They'll chat, video call, and text often. Julie goes upstairs. Jennifer and Marie tell Douglas about the missing necklace.

Square - Ciara asks Leo if Steven told him about the necklace. Leo says Steven is a mensch and he knows what it’s like to be falsely accused. He also points out Lucas's major crime (kidnapping Sami) and the fact that Ciara is married to a serial killer. He leaves in triumph.

Horton Guest Room - Steven snuck in the window again but has to leave. Julie is upset. Will it be another 50 years? Steven says he's a work in progress. He asks her not to believe everything she hears about him. He climbs out the window.

Horton Living Room - Jennifer will drive Marie to the airport. The complete stranger is alone in the living room. He looks at the pictures of his step-family and pulls Alice's necklace, a gift from Addie (mother of Steven and Julie) out of his pocket. END

If I hadn't seen the spoiler picture of young Doug with the diamond necklace, I might've suspected that Steven hadn't really changed his ways. I hope Doug has a change of heart and returns the necklace to the time capsule before the others return.

Shawn and Belle are still about as exciting as watching paint dry. Free Belle!!

I don't care about Doug the Third. I want to get back to other plots now. What has Philip planned for Titan? Has Clyde bamboozled Chad yet again? Has Johnny screamed Joy's name in his sleep once more?

Lucas is insanely confrontational (Ron hates him and I can't hide my rage in this instance for his hackery)
This could not have been clearer ever before. Lucas was off the rails, it was all the writer's annoyance with having to write something for the character. I hope the new staff is kinder to our Lucas.

Using the window as a 60+ year old person is quite possibly the dumbest thing Ron wrote, even the above-mentioned off the rails Lucas. I don't know many folks my age who routinely climb trees to access rooms.
Alice's necklace, a gift from Addie (mother of Steven and Julie) out of his pocket. END
Shocking, said no one. Okay, shocking, NOT said I. I hope the new writers redeem this character sooner rather than later. Hey, I know, let's put him in Body and Soul. Yuck.

I'm in a minority, I like Belle and Shawn. I don't like Belle and off-the-wall weird Philip who is in town. And I'm not sure I'd like Belle with EJ again. But it would destroy Sami's brain to have to cope with baby sister loving her former smoochy moochy.

Lucas was a little drastic. And mistaken. I thought it might be the new Doug. Sad.

I am so tired of Shawn's pity party. If I remember correctly, Bo was about ready to shoot Hope when Shawn shot him. Get over it already. Don't throw your wife away.

Ya know, Ciara, Leo wasn't wrong. You are married to serial killer and Lucas did kidnap his wife.

What, you don't climb trees to enter the second story windows in your home??? Golly, I do it all the time. :sarcasm:
JS, I seem to recall that Willow Stark used to get into Nick’s room through the upstairs window when he was staying at Julie’s home. I also remember Julie laughing when she found Willow’s underwear under the bed, and remarking that Nicky had been a “bad boy.” (If only this was the worst of Nick Fallon’s offenses.)

I'm sure Marlena has some magic anti-con/thief meds next to her magic anti-murderer meds she gave Ben.

I didn't when it was Kirsten Storms (ex-Belle) and Shawn Cook (ex-Shawn-D), but I like the adult versions played by the current actors. I just hate that all they write for them is breakups and bodysuits the last 8 years.

I know she's the last Horton kid standing, but I have very little use for Marie. Bring back Tommy!!
Ya know, Ciara, Leo wasn't wrong.
A lot of people don't like Leo, but I love him because he speaks truth to power in this way.

Any bets on Douglas III's age group? Belle and Shawn-D's? Eli's? Julie's? Jennifer's? Lucas's? Abby's? Claire's?

Little Dougie is certainly a busy boy. No sooner has he gotten out of jail than he takes the heirloom necklace. Fie on him.

Where has Steve the jewel thief been living all this time if he think Salem is “culturally rich.”

Kudos to Leo for pointing out that Steve’s accusers included one felon and the wife of a necktie strangler. (It’s a good thing that Ben didn’t come to the funeral. He might have been accused of stealing the necklace too. (“Of course he took the necklace. He was the necktie strangler!”)

I was thinking he'd end up playing in the sandbox with Chanel, Johnny, Joy, Alex and Stephanie. Maybe Tate, Holly, Sophia and Aaron will bring their sand buckets and shovels, too.

I think the last we had heard of Steven (back in 1991), he was living in Europe (Paris, maybe?). And honestly, what does Paris have on the grand metropolis of Salem, with such luxuries as the pier, Smith Island, fine cuisine at the Pub (like Brady Burgers, Ma's clam chowder and EJ Chow), international businesses using the square as their offices, and of course the iconic fashion brands, Basic Black and GabiChic. :sarcasm:

Thanks, Jason.

Horton Town Square is playing Christmas music.

Good for Leo for telling Lucas he kidnapped his ex wife and Ciara married a serial killer.

Poor Steven, he left town probably because Lucas accused him of something he didn't do.
Will we see Steven again or his son Spencer?

Sorry to see Aunt Marie leave already.

Will Doug put the necklace somewhere so it's found? I hope so because I want Lucas to feel bad
for accusing Steven.

Sorry to hear Shawn and Belle are getting a divorce. How long will it be before they're back together?
It's Salem.

I'm guessing the Shawn/Belle divorce doesn't happen, but who knows.

More Steven! It sounds like maybe he'll be back. I hope so.

All of this is better than Body & Soul or whatever the frick else was going on. I can barely remember. Yawn.

Days' tendency to give so many characters the same names as parents or relatives does make it rather confusing to the viewers. I do appreciate the thoughts connected with naming someone after parent or grandparent. However they could call the character a nickname. A different one like Rocky, Grumpy, Sneezy............go ahead, pick a dwarf. LOLOL

Choosing a name from women's names seems to be a bit easier than from mens'....which is why we get JJ, or EJ.

But now we have Doug who just passed away, Dougie, Doug Williams, brand new previously unknown relative. We had Stefano, and now Stefan, Steven, Steve. (They should have let Patch keep his nickname, LOL) And even a Stephanie!

Should we send the Days writers one of those baby name books.......or just just suggest names for future characters...Ha!

Seems all the soaps tend to name babies after existing characters. The last babies not named after someone else were Jude (although is middle name is Roman), Henry (his middle name is Lucas), Charlotte (has no middle name), Holly (her middle name is Fay after Nicole's mother), Sydney (her middle name is just Ann, after no one), Grace (her middle name was Rafaella after Rafe), Ciara (her middle name is Alice), Claire (has no middle name) and Tate (Brady and Jeannie T said if he had been a girl, they'd have named her Melanie, since she was the one to put the pieces together that Tate was their baby, but they said Tate meant cheerful and happiness, and it was to honor Melanie, who brought cheer & happiness to them all)
