Those were my thoughts exactly. This episode was so well done that it makes one wonder why they have to produce so much dreck so often. Nobody expects brilliance every day, but is it too much to ask for material that won’t put you to sleep or have you reaching for a barf bag.

And no, there is no explanation as to how Ciara managed to open the box (that you can see is just a regular locking metal box, not a complicated puzzle box).

My goodness, no wonder they dress the way they do, look at all those hot lights. It's too bad they don't do outside shots, outside, then maybe we could see them dressed for the appropriate weather. LOL. Amazing how real it looks on screen though.
 
Those same hot lights shine down on movie sets depicting winter scenes.......They can use fans and a/c which they do. The studio was across the street from a huge park...........no idea if they moved or not, but they DID use it once upon a time.

The fact remains they are depicting being located in the mid-west, near Chicago. They cannot pretend the area has summer temps year round. Probably why mostly everything these days occurs indoors. LOL
 
Wonderful episode. Great writing and acting today!

I’m reminded of a scene at the graveyard from about 30 years ago when Marlena was possessed the first time and she and Doug had a big fight. She either pushed him or he fell into an empty grave and she jumped in there with him and continued to fight with him. He struggled but she overtook him and stabbed him. He was able to manage to write a note with his blood. I think Alice found it at the graveyard. Alice was the next victim that Marlena (as the devil) attacked. I wish I could watch that graveyard scene again.
 
That was during the Salem Stalker storyline (2003-2004), not Marlena's first possession. But it was a great scene. When Marlena realized that Alice had figured out she was the killer, she went to Alice's house and "killed" her too, by shoving a doughnut down her throat, causing her to choke to death. I think that's the death that pushed the fans over the edge, which caused the uproar and Sony/NBC made Days bring back all the dead characters, no matter how ridiculous the explanation.

Oh goodness- you’re right. I mixed up the devil possession and Salem stalker storyline in my head.
