37 minutes. Too much B&S. Funny face day in Salem

Replay of Belle asking Sarah if she loves her husband? Sarah says with all her heart. Belle asks if she would do anything for him? Justin objects. Sarah answers she won't lie for Xander. Sarah says her testimony is trustful. Belle has a flashback of when Brady tells her he won't testify. She asks Sarah if she would be truthful about Xander trying to kill Brady? Philip makes strange face. Justin looks at Xander.

Alex is in the B&S office. It's decorated for Christmas. Johnny comes in. He tells Alex he nailed the scenes. Alex says his character lying to Faith wasn't acting. It was art imitating life. Alex tries to leave, but Johnny has something to say.

Joy walks out of the pub and sees Chanel. Chanel is there to talk to Joy since she knows what she did.

Justin objects again. Belle keeps going on and Justin keeps objecting. Belle got on record that Xander thought Brady hit Sarah with the car and wanted revenge. Belle finally said Xander shouldn't be here, but in prison.

Xander leans over to Justin and wants him to do something. Justin stands up and says there's no evidence of what she's saying. The judge talks to Belle and Justin. Belle admits she got carried away. Justin repeats there was no evidence introduced. After too much legalize, the judge has a short recess.

Joy pretends she doesn't know what Chanel means. Chanel mentions her secret hookup; she found out from Johnny and Alex. Joy has a flashback of when Alex tells her Chanel thinks he slept with Joy. Joy tells Chanel she didn't realize anyone else knew and mentioned her sleeping with Alex.

Alex stays and Johnny apologizes. Johnny says he would take back what he said about him and Joy if he knew how. Alex can't believe Johnny said he slept with Joy. The door is ajar and Stephanie is listening.

Belle and Philip talk about what she did. Philip wanted to know how she knew Sarah knew what Xander did? Belle said she guessed. Philip hopes Sarah won't get into trouble. Belle says she won't.

Justin talks to Xander and Sarah on other side of the room. He asks Xander if Belle is on to something? Xander grunts and Justin says he's taking that as a yes. Justin wanted to know why he didn't know before? Xander didn't think it would be an issue. Justin tells Sarah if Belle goes on, she has two decisions, she'll have to either confirm what Xander did. Sarah says or I'll have to lie under oath.

They discuss what Sarah should do. Xander doesn't want her to lie. Sarah doesn't want to tank Xander's case. She's upset Philip might win. Justin says there might be criminal charges against Xander.

Belle thinks Xander will hand over Titan to prevent Sarah from testifying. She won't know until the judge decides if she can pursue her questioning. The judge comes back and sits down.

Joy apologizes to Chanel. She didn't think she knew. Chanel says Johnny thought Alex took advantage of her. Joy looks off and says Alex didn't do anything wrong (that's a fact). Chanel hopes Joy is ok and goes on to say she's not the only one that has to work closely with someone she slept with. Chanel says if she wants to talk about it, she's there for her. Joy says she wants to talk to someone about it.

Johnny tells Alex he's really sorry. Alex turns around and sees Stephanie. Alex doesn't know what Stephanie heard. Stephanie says that you're sleeping with Joy (oops). She says they're not together and none of her business. Alex tries to explain. She walks away.

The judge tells Justin she's allowing Belle to continue her questioning. Philip smirks. The judge tells Belle to tread carefully. Belle asks Sarah what she knows about Xander's alleged plot to kill Brady. Sarah looks at Justin. He nods his head. Sarah says she declines to answer. Belle wants the judge to say something. Justin speaks up and says Sarah is invoking her spousal privilege and doesn't have to testify against her husband (you go, Justin). The judge has Sarah leave the stand. Since there are no other witnesses, the judge calls a recess to make her decision.

Philip tells Belle it was a huge fail. Belle says not necessarily and she wants to talk somewhere else. The others stay in the room. Xander kisses Sarah's hand.

Philip and Belle are in Horton Town Square with coffee. Philip's not happy that Sarah didn't have to testify and Xander didn't have to throw in the towel. Belle figured Justin would have Sarah invoke spousal privilege. She thinks it works in his favor and that the judge may still take that into account and think Xander guilty. Belle did that since she was in a room filled with Kiriaki (cute word). She thinks this will help win his case.

Xander's impressed Justin out-maneuvered Belle with the spousal privilege. Justin said it was the only thing he could have done and Belle was able to bring up Xander's plot to kill Brady. Justin says Belle put doubt of Xander's character to judge. He explains the judge is interested in who is best to run the company. Xander says they're lucky since Belle didn't bring up the time he tried to shoot Philip (oh my). Justin is shocked and says they take their disagreements to an interesting level. Xander wants to give Sarah and their daughter a good life. Justin wants Xander to agree there will no more attempts on bloodshed whatever the judge decides. Xander can't make that promise.

Chanel tells Joy she can talk to her about anything, especially since her and Johnny's trouble are over. Joy says it was a one time thing with Alex and won't happen again; she regretted what she did immediately and she almost quit her job. She says things would get complicated and the producers told Alex and Stephanie stop seeing each other. Joy wants it to stay in the past and leave it there. Then says she probably shouldn't hang out with Chanel and Johnny anymore.

Alex wants to explain to Stephanie what's going on. Stephanie says they're not together and wants to drop it. Alex doesn't want to. He wants to be honest with her since they're friends. Alex tells Stephanie he's not sleeping with Joy. Johnny makes a face.

Stephanie wants to know what she heard? Johnny walks away and gets in eye line with Alex. Alex looks at him and tells Stephanie he slept with Joy. It was a one time thing. He tries to explain to Stephanie he's not in a relationship with Joy. Stephanie says it sounds familiar. Johnny butts in and says it was a heat of a moment thing. They decided since they work together they shouldn't do it again (not helping). Alex is mad since Johnny said something and he wants to move past it. He looks at Johnny and says no one else will have to cover up a lie. She thinks Abe and Kate should know as not to get caught off guard and good if they know, should it becomes gossip. Stephanie assures Alex it won't affect their friendship (it probably will). Stephanie leaves.

Chanel doesn't understand why they can't be friends. Joy says it's messy and it's distracting since Chanel and Johnny know about her love life. She doesn't want personal drama affecting her work. Chanel understands since her martial troubles were talked about on the set. She wants to stay friends. Joy mentions her mom told Johnny and Chanel watch over her. They discuss how both of them feel about having each other as a friend. Chanel says she's there for her. They hug.

Philip apologizes to Belle for doubting her. He's glad she took her case. She mentions she and Shawn watched Victor groom him for the job. She says that letter is proof of that. Philip has a flashback talking to Vivian on the phone and he promises she'll get a cut of his inheritance. Philip says the letter is proof. Belle wants him at Titan instead of Xander since he's tried to kill everyone in her family. She mentions Brady, Eric, her mom. Philip says he was to kill Sami for Kristen. Belle says yes and maybe he's not all that bad (LOL). Belle's phone beeps. The judge made her decision. Philip wonders if good news for him or Xander since it was fast?

Xander asks Justin if the judge coming back already is good or bad? Justin says maybe the judge wasn't persuaded by Philip's claim and it's in Xander's favor. Xander calls Philip a nutjob. Sarah hits him and says he had a mental illness. Xander thinks he still is since he wants the company. Justin says don't get cocky.

Belle tells Philip he needs to be prepared if judge rules in Xander's favor. Philip gets mad since he was the only kid that grew up with Victor and now Xander wants his job. They get up to leave. Philip says if Xander gloats he might have to assault him in a court of law.

The judge mentions how they would be surprised how quickly she made her decision. She mentions Victor's will and the letter Philip has. The judge thinks Victor would have left Philip in charge in the Titan if Philip wasn't ill. She says Philip's claim is a valid one. Philip says he won, but judge says not yet, since Xander has valid claim too. She mentions King Solomon's problem and says she's going to split the baby in half. Xander and Philip both get 50% of Titan. They are now co-CEOs of the company. Neither one is very happy.

Joy talks to Stephanie in the square. She wants help getting Alex a gift. Stephanie tells Joy she knows she slept with Alex and she's ok with it. Stephanie says as a publicist she needs to know about their relationship. Joy tries to tell her they're not in a relationship. Stephanie says Alex said that too, but was trying to spare her feelings. She says if they want to continue that's ok with her, and Alex is a great guy. Stephanie wants him to be happy, then leaves.

Johnny and Alex talk about how Alex could have told Stephanie the truth. Alex says he didn't do it for Johnny. He did it for Chanel. He says Stephanie probably thinks he's a player again. He gets mad because Johnny is keeping himself clean and people think he can't keep it his pants (LOL). Johnny keeps saying he's sorry and it will blow over soon. (It's Salem). Alex hopes so too. He lightly slaps Johnny's face and leaves.

Back at court. Xander and Philip face each other. Philip says their dad is probably pleased they're working side by side again, then makes nasty remark to Xander (about being illegitimate). He hopes they can work together, unless Xander quits again. Xander says when pigs fly. Philip wants to put it behind them and to work together for the company. He calls him brother. Philip tries to shake Xander's hand. Xander turns around and leaves with Sarah. Philip keeps holding his hand out. Belle puts it down.

Chanel arrives at the B&S office. She tells Johnny she talked to Joy; she wanted to be sure Joy was ok with the Alex thing. Joy said it was one time thing. Call calls him Gio. She said Joy said one thing, but she heard something more. Chanel asks Johnny if he knew Joy was going to leave the show because of it? Johnny lies and says no. Chanel tells Johnny she's sad that Joy didn't want to be their friend anymore. Johnny mentions about keeping personal lives and business lives separate. Chanel says she talked Joy out of it leaving Johnny says that's too bad but then says it might be good to have distance. Chanel says Joy needs their friendship more than ever.

Joy sees Alex in the square. Alex tells her Stephanie knows about they slept together. Joy says she knows. She saw Stephanie and says she could tell she was hiding her feelings. Joy tells Alex that Stephanie really cares.

Stephanie arrives at Philip's hotel room. Philip says he won, but Xander and he both share the company. He considers it a victory. She hugs him. Then they kiss.

Xander paces the K-Mansion den. Sarah hands him a stuffed toy. She knows he wants to throw something and gives him something soft. Sarah tries to make him feel better, but Xander won't listen. He still lost half the company. She wants him to get to know Philip as brothers. Xander says Cain and Abel. Sarah knows it won't be easy, but she knows he can do it. She kisses him and leaves the room. He throws the toy.

Justin and Belle talk in the courtroom. He says she made a good move about Xander and Brady. Belle says the judge was looking at the letter and will. She says Philip deserved half, but wonders if the judge made a big mistake? Belle worries Xander or Philip won't come out alive.

Xander picks up the toy and looks at Victor's portrait. He says he's not going to play nice with his brother. He's going to find a way to oust Philip from Titan if it's the last thing he does.

When did any of these greedy people ever go to college and take courses on business management, etc.? Even Maggie, just a little farm girl. I doubt she had any education beyond high school. Another thing, they are all illegitimate offspring of Victor. He wasn't married to a single one of their mothers. Philip isn't exactly competent and Xander would kill anyone in his way. Lovely people.

I watched most of this silliness, but did FF a few times. Mostly that is a 10 or 20 second jump. Probably would have shut it off, but I really did not feel like cleaning and clearing my very cluttered desk.....(which I now have to do anyway) Wish I could figure out what Re-Ron was thinking when he wrote this. He sure doesn't seem to be trying to have me "stay tuned".

Thanks, Kat!

Philip thinks he won since he DID get half, after all.

Co-CEOs NEVER work! They will run Titan into the ground. They will never play nice in the sandbox.

Stephanie might be smooching with Philip, but she still yearns for Alex.

I feel a reveal about Johnny and Joy will happen before the year is over. Maybe Christmas Eve, Christmas Day or New Year's Eve or New Year's Day. I just feel it in my bones.

I'm glad the judge did not regard the allegations against Xander trying to kill Brady.

Is it union rules that prevent us from seeing characters decorating their homes for the holidays? Even faking it.......like bringing down from attic, or up from basement a couple boxes of decorations..ornaments, holding a wreath........then another scene where all is done, and now they talk of baking cookies, going gift shopping, heck, saying to someone they finally got all the gifts wrapped, ......just something to indicate the residents of Salem are aware the holidays are getting closer. Sorry, I just hate that one day the homes are normal, and next day, show starts and decorations are up everywhere. Sigghhhh, yeah, just me. I know. Oh, well.

Another thing, they are all illegitimate offspring of Victor. He wasn't married to a single one of their mothers.
I think it's kind of a gray area with Philip. Vivian tricked Victor into marrying her while she was pregnant with Philip. But since Vivian wasn't his biological mother, not really sure that counts.

Oh my God Johnny, just confess already. It's going to come out, just be a man and do it.

Philip is quite the smarmy little character. Not sure what I think of Belle as a lawyer. Didn't like her last comment about Philip & Xander working together and only 1 surviving, then Xander saying he will oust Philip if it's the last thing he does. I like Xander. Don't want him to leave.

I will be the dissenting view and say I loved today's show. Maybe it's just my holiday spirit. :)

I enjoyed everything. The judge made the correct decision based on what flimsy forged evidence she had, and I look forward to Xander and Philip working together. I have a feeling it will be more fun with this Philip than the dour version the last time the original one was on.

Loved Sarah giving Xander the stuffed puppy to hurl. She knows him so well. And smart having her invoke spousal privilege. It was the sensible thing to do, and since this was not a criminal case, and there is no evidence of the alleged murder, it really had no bearing on it. It is still wild to me what Sarah is ok with these days, but it makes her far more interesting as a character.

Alex is quickly winning me over in this storyline. I never had much use for him before but watching his disdain for Johnny is giving me life. I really like him and Joy together. I hope that is the direction this is going. And I hope Johnny and Chanel do work it out eventually, but he needs to grovel big time once the truth comes out.

Belle has chemistry with everybody except Shawn. Weird, that.

I'm here for Weird Philip and Goofy Stephanie. Why not?

Victor paid for Xander's higher education @gramcracker and probably sent Philip to Uni, too.

Amazing when two actors meet on screen, and the chemistry is just electric, and those same 2 are in a scene with a different actors, and it is dull & boring. Can't always blame the writers. Wonder if there is behind the scenes dissent that gets in the way. ??

Am probably not phrasing this well. But not necessarily male & female......can be same sex, older/younger. Just wonder if it's personal, unhappiness with story or dialogue, director, or just me! I do know that the suits sometimes think something or someone is just great, and the public doesn't......and vice versa.

Oh, well, just my mind meandering.......sorry for boring you.

Today’s judge joins such judicial dunces as crooked Karen Fitzpatrick, Damon Thorpe and Rose Duncan in Salem Judges’ Hall of Shame. Her job was to decide whose document prevailed. Instead she got sidetracked into irrelevancies like Shaggy’s and Xander’s character before playing King Solomon by splitting the company. Justin should be rushing to the courthouse to file an appeal. Speaking of Justin, neither he nor the awful Belle did themselves any credit by being so slow in thinking of Sarah’s spousal privilege. They both badly need continuing legal education classes.

At this point, Xander should play it cool. Given Philip’s history of vanishing, it might not be long before Shaggy is gone from the Salem scene. Another possibility is that greedy, unscrupulous Viv reappears and carelessly exposes her own fraud. What would all those naive Shaggy lovers think then?

Finally, why can’t anything to do with Chanel, Johnny, and Alex disappear into the Salem mists? Watching them is the functional equivalent of having a root canal.
