Days of Our Lives - Tuesday, Dec 10., 2024

I think we can all agree that we do not want any Konstantin relatives on this show. I can't imagine the writers wanting to give him a daughter and four grandkids, given how much he was loathed, so I am anticipating that Catharina will reveal her mother helped her fake her death to get her away from the Kon after he tried to kill her, and that he wasn't really her biological father.

So our options are:

  1. Victor. A man who really enjoyed impregnating his rival's wives (Caroline-Shawn, Loretta-Ernesto, Fiona-Titus, even Kate/Viv-Stefano). He fits the best with what we know about the time frame. Catharina would inherit three siblings: Bo, Xander and Philip, and Victor would suddenly have four more grandchildren. I don't see a ton of drama here though given Victor is dead and most of his family won't care. Maggie would be very nurturing to Aaron and Felicity though.

  2. John. He has no past memories of what went down in Greece, so he could easily have had a fling with Elizabeth Meleonous when sent to Greece. She probably wanted to stick it to Konstantin and John was a hot young guy with no past. Catharina would again get three siblings: Brady, Paul and Belle. Sadly with John not on screen anymore this will likely not happen, although there would be built in drama with Aaron and Tate suddenly closely related.

  3. Steve. He was around at the time too and is alive, so bonus. He could also have had an affair with Elizabeth but had no idea he was a father. All we know about him pre Salem is that he was with Marina as a teenage merchant marine and then with Britta in his twenties. Again, Catharina gets three siblings in Stephanie, Tripp and Joey. Kayla already has issues with Mark due to him messing with her DNA tests and is furious at Cat for impersonating Abby, so I like that aspect, plus the Johnsons have no grandkids and I would love to see them caring for the younger Greenes. I think given that Steve is the only living one of the guys left this works best.

  4. Konstantin. But who wants that?

The armed Chad and gun-toting JJ are sadly overmatched against creepy Clyde. If only they’d been wise enough to hire Black Patch. Squirrel Stew wouldn’t stand a chance against the fearsome Steve and the mighty Rafe. It would be the end of Yo-Daddy all over again.

Would Dougie III be more afraid of Hope if he knew about the notches she has on her pistol grip? If asked, anyone in town would warn him not to mess with pistol-packing Hope.

Finally, motherhood took another hit today. Only recently Fiona was revealed to be a hit and-run driver. Now, we discovered that Mother Cat is an armed Clyde flunky. What next — we learn that jailbird Lani neglects the always cute Grant twins?

There must have been a lot going on behind the scenes, and a lot of mind changing, idea throwing, and "let's try this" scenarios..............as it seems as tho Days goes in one direction, then a different one, putting first this character, then that one front and center. I know they changed head writers a couple times, directors, and more. I sure hope things will settle down soon. And Yep, Corday doesn't hold a candle to running the show like his parents could. Hope everything will work out now.

Dougie will magically find the necklace somewhere and then be a hero
I wouldn't hate that.
Konstantin. But who wants that?
Of the options you presented, I prefer this. I'd be OK with Cat 1.0 not being his bio-daughter and we never learn/care either. I just feel as loathed as Kon was, he was also entirely forgettable. And the kids had no relationship with him so it's not like they'd be talking about him a lot. He'd be as forgettable as Monty Dolan.
Squirrel Stew wouldn’t stand a chance against the fearsome Steve and the mighty Rafe.
Counterpoint: He's outwitted them twice. But if they called Dudley Do-Right for backup, Clyde's a goner.

Monty Dolan
Wow, I had totally forgotten about him. For those not watching back then, actor Jay Robinson played Monty Dolan, the father of April, Emilio and Julio Ramirez, from 1988-1989.

Back then, I was more familiar with him as Dr. Shrinker on the Saturday morning kiddie show of the same name in 1976. He was part of Krofft Supershow family, so I'm guessing he knew Deidre Hall (Marlena) from being Electra Woman, and Wesley Eure (teenage Mike Horton) who was on Land of the Lost during the same time period.

Here's the intro to Dr. Shrinker. With Re-Ron's love of vintage pop culture, thank God he didn't think this would be an amazing storyline for Days. :rolleyes:Imagine a storyline where Kristen had Rolf shrink various Salemites to the size of tiny dolls.
