Exact replay of yesterday’s teen angst begins the show. Tate is dumped, Holly flounces off, Sophia attaches herself to Tate’s shoulder.

And back to the Titan offices where Xander is still having a conversation with his gun. Maggie enters through the open door and wants to know what he is doing with the gun?

Brady is still at the all purpose interrogation room table. Marlena has manifested. She and John are worried about him. Brady is worried about John and all the pain he has caused due to screwing up. What he did was unforgivable. Marlena tells him they love him and will be there for him. She wants to know what EJ was there for? Brady says he was just there to gloat. He is going to prison and nobody can save him, not even Kristen.

Speaking of, she is still with Dr Rolf, who asks what happened to the tunnels and says "Eeet is like a bomb went off in there!" Kristen says that’s because it did. Rolf is wanted by the police. He has news of the utmost importance that he must deliver in person, so he is taking the risk to be there.

Xander waffles that as Victor’s heir and the CEO of Titan there is a huge target on his back so he keeps a gun for protection. Maggie says the building has tons of security. Xander notes that she gained access to him easily. What if she was packing heat? Maggie rolls her eyes but concedes he has made his point.

Xander says if she is not there to assassinate him what brings her by? Maggie says she needs to speak to him alone. Xander asks if he is in trouble? Maggie tells him not yet, but perhaps trouble can be avoided if she takes his advice. Now that Sarah has identified Brady, he is probably going to jail, so could Xander please drop his vendetta against him?

Marlena deduces that EJ is upset with his sister. She smirks about Kristen destroying Brady’s car so it could not be used as evidence. Brady agrees EJ is annoyed about that. Brady is as well. Kristen is determined to save him. Marlena wants to know what that means? Brady tells her she offered to do something pretty extreme to ensure his freedom. Marlena is afraid to ask.

Brady has a full flashback of Kristen offering to either send Sarah to her island or blow her up in the DiBasement. He thinks probably better not to share with Marlena, who wants to know if it is something illegal? Brady says yes but he asked her to stand down. Marlena says when Kristen gets involved she can make things way worse.

Kristen wants to know what Rolf’s big news is. He reminds her that she asked him to work on something big to secure her position at the top. Rolf says there has been a huge breakthrough, thanks to him, that will make Kristen and her board members very rich.

Tate can’t believe he and Holly are dunzo. Sophia is sorry. Tate is dubious. He thinks Sophia probably enjoyed watching their relationship tank. Sophia says she has issues with her former BFF but she feels bad for Tate’s sake. Tate is upset, but after she betrayed his trust by going to get evidence against Brady, Sophia thinks he is better off.

Holly is weeping on the bench. Her day gets worse. Eric is here whisper talking at her. He loves her. Holly says she and Tate broke up and it is all his fault. He and Brady are the exact same, they get drunk and hurt people and for some reason Tate defends them both. Eric doesn’t know why Tate would defend him. He knows Tate loves his father and is scared he is going to prison. Holly says that is what Brady deserves. Eric spits out some more platitudes. Holly tells him to shut up, he doesn’t care about her and neither does her mom.

Tate whines that he and Holly had to work really hard to be together. Lying to their parents, faking lacrosse camp, and now it is all over. Sophia says it sucks but it is not his fault. He tried, but Holly went psycho. She has a lot going on but it isn’t Tate’s fault. She reminds him about Holly leaving him in jail and rehab after her overdose. Tate mumbles that that was rough. Sophia is sorry for bringing it up. He wants to head home. She offers to walk with him. He agrees. She takes his arm and they go.

Xander thinks Maggie might be exaggerating just a "wee bit". All he wanted was for Brady to be brought to justice, he has no vendetta against him. Maggie asks them why did you try to break his legs? Fiona told her that he went after Brady with a baseball bat. Xander says at the time Brady was getting away with paralyzing Sarah. Maggie can’t blame him for wanting Brady to pay for that.

Maggie does blame him for taking it so far. Thank goodness Fiona stopped him. They rehash Fiona and Brady’s hook up. Maggie defends it, saying that they did not know the family connection when they met. Xander correctly points out that they still hooked up knowing it, probably just to stick it to him. Maggie chastises him. It is high time he focused on being with his wife and less on getting back at Brady.

Brady agrees Kristen would make things worse, but he would rather her fight with him than against him. Marlena muses on their fights over Rachel. Brady tells her about Kristen wanting to revisit the custody arrangement. He thinks it was an incentive not to give up. Marlena thinks it was a different motivation. Kristen told her she still loves Brady. Brady says she told him that too.

Marlena finds it interesting that Brady didn’t say “I never want to be involved with that psycho again”. Brady wishes he felt that way, and it should be pathetic when she says that because he can never return her feelings. Marlena says he wishes he felt that way, but he doesn’t?

Kristen goes over Rolf’s notes. She can’t read them. Equations and formulas are not her thing. Rolf has a 2 hour presentation prepared for her. Kristen isn’t into that. She needs to focus on finding a way to save Brady. Rolf says this is the scientific discovery of the century. It is the future of the company, the future of the world, and Kristen is still wrapped up in her unhealthy obsession with Brady Black (true words, Dr Rolf!).

Kristen reminds him who is boss. Rolf recalls with disgust Stefano’s obsession with his Queen of the Night, Marlena, but he was able to multi-task. And he thinks Stefano would want her to do the same. Kristen sighs fine, lay it on me.

Eric is still whisper talking about how he and Nicole love her and hate that she is in pain. Holly says if she is so important why doesn’t Nicole come home and see her? Eric makes excuses for Nicole, she would totally be here if she could. Jude still has a head cold, and now an ear infection. Maybe Holly could visit her instead?

Tate is ranting about how Holly is completely in the wrong but blames everyone else. Sophia says she is an easy scapegoat. Tate says it is not right. All Sophia did was call her out for using him, and she hit her. Sophia flashes back to goading Holly about her lack of sexual energy and that Sophia would satisfy him better. She has to be honest with Tate. Holly didn’t hit her because of that, she hit her because she told her she had feelings for Tate.

Xander is confused. He has been with Sarah night and day, from the hospital to at home. He has been with her as much as he possibly can. Maggie knows, but she isn’t talking about physically, but emotionally. Sarah is going through so much and Xander has spent so much time and energy focusing on punishing Brady.

Xander crumples, Maggie is right. He doesn’t know how to help Sarah. She keeps putting on such a brave front and pretending everything is alright, but it’s not. She’s not fine. He hears her crying when she thinks he is not around, and he saw how sad she looked when she couldn’t chase after Victoria at her birthday. It makes him feel helpless, watching her suffer. He is emotional and tearing up now. He can’t help her regain the use of her legs, but he can help her get justice. Maggie says now Brady is going to jail, Xander is going to get his justice, and needs to let this go, for his sake, and Sarah’s sake.

Brady thinks he should be on Marlena’s couch for this question. Marlena asks if she is acting like a therapist? Brady says no, she is a concerned parent. Brady says he always feels a pull to Kristen, he can’t get her out of his system. It is like an addiction, but he can’t go cold turkey because of Rachel. Marlena says to try another metaphor: Is he in danger of falling of the wagon with Kristen? Brady is not over being burned by Theresa, and it is moot, as he is going to prison.

Rolf gives Kristen a folder. She picks it up in disgust and drops it in the bin. Rolf thought she’d want to follow along while he gives his presentation. She wants the quick version. Rolf says a crude summation will pale in comparison to the elegance of his discovery. Kristen says "Tick Tock, tick tock". Rolf asks if she remembers the prisms? She does, and their amazing healing properties. He and Megan used one to cure Bo’s brain tumor.

Rolf says and also created a youth serum from the orchid. Kristen asks if he got that to work? Rolf points at his mug and says "Look at this face, does it look like he has perfected a fountain of youth?" He continues that even though the ISA has the prisms, he was able to work off his notes and come up with a new serum that will revolutionize the field of medicine.

Kristen asks if he has got to the gist of this yet. Rolf says it has restorative properties beyond the reach of medicine, for instance, you could regenerate a failed organ. Kristen’s wheels are turning. Rolf, or regrow dying tissue. Any damage to the human body could be reversed! Kristen says "What about, a spinal cord injury?"

Tate repeats Sophia’s words. He thought they were just friends. Sophia meant that, and wanted to be supportive of him and Holly, but she is still into him. Tate is sorry he didn’t realize. Sophia doesn’t want things to be weird. She knows she flirted with him at the cabin, and in fact suggested they have sex. Tate is quiet. Sophia says does he remember that? He does. It was awkward. Sophia was out of line and he rejected her, and it was humiliating, but she backed off. She is sorry for making things all about her. She just wants to be up front with him, no deception.

Holly correctly points out that it is ludicrous for her to drop everything and fly to Paris during her senior year (correct, why can’t Eric go home and let Nicole come to her?) Eric says she could just do a long weekend and barely miss any classes. She needs to apply for college, again, without a mom. Eric says they can video chat. Holly says it is not the same.

Eric points out that Nicole wanted Holly to come with them. Holly says that when she said no she could have made her a priority and stayed but she didn’t. She chose what to do what Eric wanted over what her daughter needed. Eric defends Nicole. Is Holly just going to shut her out? He is the one responsible for Saint Daniel’s death, not Nicole. Holly says Nicole just lied to her for her entire life. Eric tells her she owes it to Nicole to let her explain.

Marlena says that Justin is such a top lawyer that Brady may not go to prison. Brady doesn’t want that. He wants to be punished. Marlena asks him to let Justin do his job. Out of deference to John, Brady will do it. He is responsible for Sarah being in pain and suffering, and he is willing to, in fact needs to, take responsibility for it.

Xander has not only been sitting around looking for ways to make Brady pay. He also has been looking for specialists, anybody who can help Sarah walk again. So far, everybody has agreed with Sarah’s current doctors, and things are not looking promising. Maggie says then it is time for them to face the reality that Sarah’s paralysis is most likely permanent.

Rolf says the serum is not specifically intended for spinal cord injury, but he supposes it is not out of the realm of possibility that it could be used for it. He looks at Kristen. Why does she ask? Kristen says because Brady is facing charges for hitting Sarah Kiriakis and she may never walk again. Rolf nods. He would have to check the charts and see if the serum would be appropriate for Sarah’s case. Kristen prods, so it is possible it could be used to get Sarah back on her feet again? Rolf says "yes, I believe it is possible." Kristen beams.

Kristen is exultant. If Sarah starts to walk again everything will be great! Rolf snickers about Sarah’s time on DiMera Island when she thought she was dead Renée. He did not realize that Kristen grew so fond of Sarah. Kristen says she doesn’t care about Sarah at all. Rolf says then there must be an ulterior motive. Kristen has her reasons, and if Rolf wants his glory, funding and lab space he can leave it at that.

Xander is not ready to give up hope. Nor is Maggie, but if Sarah’s condition is permanent she can still have a full life, and she will, because Xander and Victoria are in her corner. Right? Xander says right. He thanks Maggie for helping get him get his priorities straight. He will focus only on his wife, and stop obsessing about Brady Black.

Marlena tells Brady that Eric felt the same way after the death of Perfect Wonderful Dead Daniel. There are other ways to atone, other than jail. Brady says that is good for Eric but he is not there, he can’t make peace with what he did. Marlena is always here for him. As his John. Brady feels bad about the pain he is causing him and wishes John could just accept his son’s fate.

Marlena says John can’t do that, and nor could Brady when Tate was in trouble last year (it was actually this year). Brady points out that Tate was innocent. Marlena asks if things would have changed if he had not been innocent? Brady concedes that he would have stood by him. He tells Marlena about Holly and Tate’s fight over him. He’d hate if he was the reason they didn’t work out.

Tate thanks Sophia for her honestly. He is sorry for Holly hitting her, at least it did not leave a mark. Sophia is grateful, she would not have wanted to explain that to her parents. But back to Tate, with his mom in prison and his dad heading there, he misses them being up in his business.

Sophia says if he ever needs a fix with nosy parents, come by her place, where her folks will gladly give him the third degree and then tell him exactly what to do. Tate might skip that. Sophia hopes they are still cool, despite her telling him he has feelings for him. Tate is glad it is in the open, she doesn’t want him to hold back. In that case, Sophia says, then she grabs and kisses him.

Eric wants Holly to know that Nicole needs to see her. She misses her. Holly said she could have stayed. Eric said that Nicole had her reasons. Holly doesn’t have to stay long. Eric will buy her a plane ticket. All she has to do is go home and pack. Holly says fine, she’ll go to Paris. There is nothing keeping her in Salem anyway.

Tate pulls away. He is not ready to move on yet. Sophia is embarrassed. He must think she’s pathetic. Tate is a mess, he should just head home. Sophia is worried she screwed things up. Tate says she didn’t. He toddles off. Sophia smiles knowingly.

Rolf retrieves his folder from the trash. Science is a cold mistress, and she is calling me. He tells Stefano that he appreciated him, unlike his progeny. Kristen ran out of her looking like the cat who ate the canary. He wonders what she is up to this time.

Xander is alone at his desk when Kristen barges in with a cheery Hello Xandy! Xander mutters that security at Titan really is a problem. Kristen asks him what he said? He tells her never mind, and what does she want? Kristen tells him he might want to change his tone. She is there to help him. Xander looks skeptical.

Marlena tells Brady to take care of himself and goes to depart. She can’t help but wonder what Kristen has in mind when she is talking about helping him. Brady tells her not to worry. Marlena says she has to worry, this is Kristen DiMera, and when she sets her mind on something there is no telling what she might do.

Back to Kristen and Xander. She has told him about the serum. Xander is repeating that Rolf’s serum might help Sarah walk again? Kristen says that Rolf is fine-tuning the formula, but when it is all done, it is all Xander’s. Xander looks thrilled, but Kristen tells him that she has one little favor to ask in exchange. Xander now looks suspicious. What is the favor?

Kristen says make sure that Brady goes free.

She reminds him about Holly leaving him in jail and rehab after her overdose.
This is why I love this girl.
Maggie defends it, saying that they did not know the family connection when they met.
Wait, so you're not allowed to sleep with your uncle's mother suddenly? Since when? This is Salem, where step-siblings and adopted family members date!!

Right, and two of the show's alleged "it" couples are Holly and Tate (who depending on when we think they grew up were at one point a little family unit/stepsiblings) and Alex and Stephanie (who share no blood but were raised as Johnson family members).

And to my (and many people's) way of thinking, snacking on your stepcousin you grew up with is much more over the line than even the same relationship might be if both people were adults when the marriage happened. Brady and Fiona met as adults. She's his uncles' ex. So what? It's the same reason nobody cared about Will and Paul. A step relationship but they didn't know each other until adults (since Paul didn't meet John until he was an adult).

It's weird they're even going there with the other stories they're telling right now.

I honestly thought I did something wrong and had Wed. show running again........when the start of the show came on. LOL Seems that was a lot of repetition. LOL........thank you Brisby.

Tsk, tsk, Sophia is definitely not the friend she seemed to be, Holly will not be a happy camper for sure. Just hope Tate will see right thru her attempts to manipulate them all.

Brady and Xander’s bad decisions are really hurting the hit and run storyline. Sarah, the actual victim and Xander's wife, has spent a month begging him to let go of his grudge against Brady, but he won’t budge—yet Maggie talks him out of it in just one conversation. On top of that, Brady keeps whining to everyone about his guilt over the hit-and-run, but when Kristen plans to kidnap or kill Sarah, he doesn’t say a word.

Well done, brisbydog!

Even if Sarah does walk again, the crime was still committed, no matter who caused the accident. The truth must come out, and Fiona must pay the price.

Brady should have been specific with what Kristen might do. What he told Marlena was not helpful.

It was sad when Brady kept referring to John.

Too much time has passed for Brady to be tested for drugs/alcohol. He should have brought up the hand jab incident immediately.

Why can't Marlena hypnotize Brady to bring him back to the night of the accident? I mentioned this before. If he recalls Small Bar, that waiter will remember him and Fiona, and maybe memories will return.

So how did Eric, with a brand-new job, get all this time off? Does Nicole have a job now? They would need to hire a nanny if both of them work.

Tate is still oblivious to Sophia's manipulations.

Xander's cover for the gun didn't hold much water with Maggie. I'm glad she saw it, though. His promise to give up his revenge plan for Brady was a hollow promise.

Maybe Holly will like Paris enough to move there.

Thanks for the summary, brisbydog. I'm not thrilled we are back into the world of make believe with Rolf and his magic-ness. But it's an easy way out of a corner. Just like B&S using a begonia to cure whatever illness Bon Bon's character has. But here we are.

Holly and Rachel have spent time together. You can tell they are both over-the-top bratty. Mommy abandoned me. Well, I didn't want to go, she should have stayed in town with me. The reveal and entire story would work better with Nicole, but TIIC (the idiots in charge) want us to forget, or at least hate, the character and side with poor misguided Holly Bolly.

I keep seeing the Xander haters saying he has married his stepsister. Same deal as Will and Sonny, they met as adults. Stephanie and Alex however grew up with the same grandmother, that's icky.

I think Xander's promise to Maggie was genuine, and in any case, they are clearly moving on from the revenge story to the Sarah being cured story, before we inevitably reach the Fiona did it story.

Well at least Brady told Marlena that Kristen was up to something. Hated hearing him say Kristen is an addiction. Please don't go back there.

Sophia is being honest but still up to no good. She isn't gonna rest til she beds Tate.

Holly had a lot of good points about her mom. Nicole did not prioritize her. Jude was more important.

Ah, Rolf has returned. Was funny when he said look at my face. Does it look like I found fountain of youth? But his magic serum might get Brady out of this mess. I would love for Sarah to walk but fear this will lead Brady right back to Kristen.

Xander was pretty dumb to just be holding gun. And really, would anyone stop Maggie from going to his office? Will he be able to do what Kristen wants? He should just tell someone that she has serum but is blackmailing him.

I'm gonna call Holly "Sami, Jr." if she keeps it up.
This makes me laugh - just don't say it in front of Nicole or Sami, since they're enemies anytime they're off-screen for 3 seconds.
I keep seeing the Xander haters saying he has married his stepsister.
Those people are the ones I mentioned yesterday. Tanking the genre. They're probably the same ones who rooted for Philip to keep cheating to control Titan after he took Xander's job.

Lastly, one would think in a world where characters can be resurrected after getting smooshed or gutted, a spinal regrowth would be nothing. Was Jack's spine undamaged in his elevator fall?

Sarah, the actual victim and Xander's wife, has spent a month begging him to let go of his grudge against Brady, but he won’t budge—yet Maggie talks him out of it in just one conversation.
This is a good contrast. However, Maggie has pretty much always had his back, whereas Sarah has been fickle in the past. I'd be less sure of his saying he's over it to Sarah because he might be lying to avoid losing her - but he has no quarter to do the same to Maggie.

Exactly, if he says it to Maggie he means it. Remember back in June when he shot Konstantin, he told Sarah he had no choice, he told Maggie the truth, that he saw a way to murder him and get away with it. He is straight with her because he knows she won't judge him.

I know there was a lot of behind the scenes drama, came up suddenly, and writers forced to write/maybe change direction or characters to whom dialog would be given.

There just was no way Nicole would have been available (unless recast) so the writers did the best they could. Real life has caused all sorts of unexpected things that have to be dealt with. Just like John's absence (Drake H.'s illness and now his passing).

Kudos to Maggie for talking sense to the foolish X-Man. The viewers have waited forever to see his ship come in and nobody wants to watch him throw it all away.

Sophia should give up waiting tables. She’s such a skilled b/s artist that she’d be a perfect fit for the office of the scheming, underhanded DA EJ.

Pity poor Nicole. She waited so long to have a baby and she’s turned out to be just another Salem troublemaker who blames others for her problems.

Finally, if Rolf can put an end to the awful Sarah-in-a-wheelchair storyline with his new magic serum, I will forgive him for all the awful crimes and plots that he’s been involved with over the years.

Thanks, brisbydog.

Interesting Holly is going to see her mom. How long will Holly be gone?

Will someone ever tell Holly that Brady has Daniel's heart?

Rolf must be too busy to read the Salem Spectator. He didn't know about the bomb in the tunnels.

Kristen is playing chess with Xander. Will he accept her offer to help Sarah and let Brady be free?

Who did Xander hire for security at Titan? Retired Salem cops since Kristen just walked in? :)
