Hope also went to prison for her "nighttime Hope" mugging spree when she was taking sleeping pills and unaware she was essentially sleepwalking and mugging men, taking their wallets after clunking them on the back of their heads. That was back in 2010.
This answers the question.

Thanks, but you didn't really answer the question that was asked. I asked what specific crimes they were convicted of and depending on the circumstances shooting someone might not be ruled a crime and even if it was, I doubt either one was convicted of "shooting".

Presumably, you're suggesting murder or attempted murder, but I'm only guessing about that since you didn't say that.
Well Lani confessed to involuntary manslaughter and pled guilty. Hope was convicted of murder but was later exonerated when it was revealed that Stefano was alive. But I think it was Shane in a Stefano mask? Either way she was cleared but Lani still has a record

Yes, Shane went around town in a Stefano mask so pictures could be taken to prove Stefano was still "alive". Shane and Steve were working together and only they knew about their plan. But when they were looking at the pictures, there was a picture of Stefano sitting on a park bench feeding the birds and Shane swore he didn't go to the park and do that. So it was kind of left open ended that maybe somehow the mighty Phoenix did secretly survive after all, despite Hope emptying a clip of bullets into him.

This incident provided proof that Salem insiders get favored treatment from the justice system. Mugger Hope recruited gambling addict Dr. Richard Baker to assist her mugging spree. When they were caught, Hope did a short stay in prison, while as far as anyone would now from what’s on-screen, Dr. Baker is still languishing in prison along with such luckless, unconnected Salemites as Gus, Vargas, and Ian McAllister.

Thanks for the summary. It was mostly a good show. Doug’s death and the family reuniting were very heartfelt moments. Tomorrow will be a rough one for sure.

I’m tired of Clyde and Cat and looking forward to the end of this plot. And sick of hearing about B&S—thank goodness Lani turned that down!
