Thanks, robin.

I almost fell asleep watching Chad and Cat. Maybe the writers will go slow with them if something is supposed
to happen further down the road.

I enjoyed Maggie and Xander. I'm glad she talked some sense into him and he wants to try and work with Philip.
Of course, this happens on the same day Sarah finds out about the fake letter. It's Salem.

Poor Marlena. She wants to tell John the good news about Cat and her mom and she's not able to.

Marlena told Steve that it's hard to cook for one. Doesn't she eat with Brady or Tate?

I laughed after Stephanie said it was too late after listening to Philip's voicemail.

Shane and Kimberly got mentioned today.

I hate they're having Sarah lie. Just ridiculous and not even for a good reason. So what if Xander said he'd be nice to Philip? Why can't this show write couples as working together instead of introducing conflict into every relationship. And I'd find Xander and Philip working together against Kristen much more entertaining without all of this nonsense.

Thanks for the write-up. A decent show with minimal filler; not a bad way to start off the week.

I hate Sarah lying to Xander just when I’m warming up to them as a couple. I have a feeling this won’t end well and could help Gwen should she ever return. Which, as a Gwen-Xander fan, I’m not necessarily opposed to.

Marlena’s scenes were heartbreaking. We know what’s coming, and the line about not going through what Julie is really hurt. But the scenes they give her with Steve and Kayla are good. I really enjoy all the airtime these three have been getting.

Stephanie is acting like a teenager. She needs to grow up. I do like that she told Sarah the truth; she should also have told her mother and kept the voicemail.

Kate was being Kate, no surprise there. I did genuinely feel bad for Philip today. I just wish he could have sought help more properly instead of scheming with Vivian, a woman he has never trusted/liked.

Maggie’s scenes with Xander always are well done.

Cat and Chad would be an OK couple if they get together a year from now. I’d like her to just make amends, work, and bond with her family for now. Ditto Chad—he should know after this and dating Stephanie that he isn’t ready for a relationship.

I think we may still get a DiMera takeover but Philip will suggest a less dangerous path. I doubt they would introduce the idea if it wasn't coming, and EJ is not in a good place to help right now.

As usual Salemites are making things more difficult than necessary. Instead of tying themselves into knots about Shaggy’s welfare or fretting over what to tell Xander, hey should contact Justin. He’s the family attorney, knows the legal landscape and is well aware of the faults of both Shaggy and the X-Man. Justin could get this mess sorted out with limited drama and histrionics.

Kate has taken a big step backward — justifying Philip’s fraud. She reminded me of the old Kate who wasn’t married to Roman. If Sami was around, she’d be saying: “Same old Granny Kate, What a hag.”

This is such a random thought, but since we know they decided to have John die in Salem, due to Drake Hogestyn's (John) illness at the time (with a plan to resurrect him if Drake had managed to recover), I wonder if they'll show Vivian reacting to John's death? For everything she's put the family through, she's weirdly fond of her adoptive nephew.

There was a funny scene between them back on 1/18/2018 and the look on Chad's face when he learned John was technically Vivian's nephew was funny.

Vivian: I know our genealogy's been revised, but I still think of you as my nephew. Wasn't your father Yo-Yo Ma?
John: Yo Ling.
Vivian: Ah, the basketball player.
John: That's Yao Ming.

Vivian: He's just like his father. [referring to Stefan0]
John: I'm sorry to hear that.

Vivian: We'll have dinner sometime. Chinese. Your treat.
