Days of our Lives - Friday, December 27, 2024

EJ is beyond pathetic. If Stefano was still around, DiMera thugs would quickly ensure that rude and pushy Arnold is never seen again.

Idiot Paulina should keep the rat czar job open. Abe will need a new job after B&S is cancelled.

Pity the poor Tot. Sophia is nothing but trouble and his lies to Holly are sure to blow up in his face. His personal life is well on its way to being as messy as Daddy Brady’s.

I wish I knew more about politics. Somehow, I don't think the mayor can hire and fire people at will. I'm under the impression some of these offices are elected, no appointed. Of course, in Salem, who knows? There are more characters I don't like than those I do like. Maybe it's time to make everyone live happily ever after and end Days of Our Lives.

I looked up whether police commissioner is an elected position and it depends on the local government and the city or state. In Illinois, commissioner is an appointed position.

However, regarding district attorney according to Google's AI overview;

"Yes, a district attorney (DA) is an elected position in most states, including Texas. The only states where a DA is not elected are Alaska, Connecticut, New Jersey, and the District of Columbia."

I assume it mentioned Texas because I'm in Texas.

Regarding Illinois;

"Yes, district attorneys, also known as state's attorneys (S.A.s) in Illinois, are elected officials."

I think we can assume that Salem exists in a parallel universe where all the rules get made up as dictated at the whim of the Ultimate Authority a/k/a Da Plot. It's never cold unless Da Plot calls for it to be cold. Nobody works unless Da Plot calls for them to be working. Sound travels only as Da Plot dictates and nobody ever locks their door. And most importantly, death is a temporary condition that can be reversed at will or, of course, as dictated by Da Plot. So if Da Plot says the DA this week is appointed by the mayor then by golly that's how politics work in Salem.

Actually, it is way past time for Corday to find and hire a competent writer, who knows how to write a soap, or perhaps who knows the history, characters and past plots of Days. Perhaps one who might chat with long time actors a bit, once in a while, get their feelings about their character, story, etc. And then Corday might wander over to wardrobe, suggesting perhaps, that more attention be paid to seasons, and appropriate clothes for them. i.e. Nov to March is cold in midwest, is winter. Sept & Oct is Fall. April & May is spring, with sometimes a scary cold spell or even snow. LOL

Not only that, I think I THINK Salem also has their own extradition legislation, trade treaties, and the local municipal branch of government has the same powers as federal, right? Like I say, I THINK. LOL LOL
