Arnold is lounging in the DiMansion. He greets EJ with "what up?"
Rafe and Jada are planning their wedding. He thinks his off screen city hall quickie with Nicole was smarter. They love banter a bit. He reminds her she has to go to work. Before she goes, she suggests they marry on his birthday.
Leo is reading his horoscope. I spare you the dialogue because it is meaningless. Apparently it is his birthday. The new Lady W is mocking the old one with his attempts to identify her using an investigator. She says that the old lady is barking up the wrong tree and she may just show up at her door. On cue, there is a knock at the door. Leo whips it open to confront the imposter but it's Doug3.
Sophia is at Tate's. They are ready to start the abortion road trip. Holly is yelling at the door. Tate tells Sophia to hide. He opens the door to Holly complaining about how long it took him.
Leo says Doug3 isn't Lady W, or is he? Dour Doug3 has no idea what that means. Leo drags him in and tells him a gossip columnist is trying to ruin his life. Doug3 is never sure if he's joking. He's there hoping to pick up cash for the necklace.
Jada says they can call it a birthaversary and Rafe will never forget the day. She knows he's busy and important. His birthday is the end of January. Jada takes off.
EJ freaks out on Arnold. He's enjoying his breakfast and is wearing EJ's plush robe on his naked body. He offers to give it back. EJ tells him to keep it and get out of his house.
Arnold protests that he just got there. EJ reminds him that they can't be seen together. Johnny might see them together again. He erroneously tells Arnold that his son is not an idiot and will figure it out. Arnold tells him to relax. Johnny and Chanel already left for work. EJ says what if Johnny tells real Rafe about seeing "him" at the house? He will be dumbfounded and confused, his natural state, but their gooses would be cooked. Arnold notes that EJ's goose would be cooked but his goose would be fine.
Real Rafe is with Paulina and this recapper is sick of his face at the 8 minute mark. Why can't Xander have a doppelganger?
Paulina has shown up unannounced. She says a perk of being the town's highest elected official. She wants to give Jada every opportunity to succeed. So does Rafe. Paulina blusters that he needs to stay out of Jada's way.
Belle is at the station with Jada who notes that she's there a lot. It's part of her foreplay with EJ, Jada. Jada is always happy to see her. They talk about the Mark Greene case and EJ's idiocy of prosecuting for crimes committed in France.
Apparently EJ tried to question Hattie without Belle present and now the judge has had to let her go. Jada can’t prove she tainted the cupcakes now. Belle tells her to blame EJ. Jada asks if they can talk in her office?
Doug3 is eager for the money but Leo tells him to slow down. He still has the necklace but found a fencer. Doug3 feels bad. Leo tells him he can still give it back and offers him the necklace.
Tate lies he was packing for the trip. Holly has lemon squares she made with Maggie and Sarah for the trip. They talk about how much they will miss each other while Sophia rolls her eyes (in the other room). Tate tells Holly to find someone to go to the concert with her. They exchange love vows while Sophia's eyes roll ever higher. Holly departs and Sophia emerges and says sorry to be such an inconvenience.
Doug3 really wants to return the necklace but he needs the money. Leo has an idea! Doug3 thinks he has a way out for him but Leo just wants to use this as a plot for his show. It's so hard to think of things to write for something that airs 5x a week. Ten minutes of useless Leo talk.
He gets back to Doug3 and says he gets it. But his advice is pay off the jerks and put this behind him. His family already think the necklace is long gone.
Paulina has been briefed about Hattie. She drags every word out to 60 syllables. Rafe is defensive. He was doing his job and it's not his fault he got to Hattie first. Paulina defends demoting him. Rafe tells her to stop rationalizing it. Paulina wants him back on her team. How would Rafe like to be her Rat Czar?
EJ says Arnold's goose would not be fine. He would be arrested and his felony charges reinstated. Arnold isn't worried. He knows he wouldn't go to prison. EJ is the authority who would ensure that wouldn't happen.
Belle congratulates Jada on her job. Jada says taking over has been intimidating. She wants to do the best job. She has to work hand in hand with EJ and he botches every case he gets. Belle tries to excuse EJ by saying the facts were against him. Jada counters that EJ uses underhanded moves that come back to bite him. Belle says that EJ is determined to win at any cost. Jada brings up conflict of interest. EJ often refuses to prosecute if there is a personal aspect to a case. Jada's hands are tied. She can't put any criminals away. She'd rather work with somebody like Belle.
Sophia snarls about spoiling Tate's special present. She apologizes. She didn't realize they were at the I love you stage. Tate tells her it just happened over Christmas. Sophia sighs that Holly must have been the good one this year. She gets love and I get to have an abortion.

Rafe doesn't know what a Rat Czar is. Paulina explains it's someone in charge of keeping the rat population down. He'd be saving lives. She blathers on about a rat action plan in New York. Rafe would be saving lives and hugely respected. Nobody is doing the job in Salem right now. Pay is amazing. Is Rafe interested?

EJ calls what he did to Sami rape. Arnold says he never heard no. EJ says that doesn't mean she was a willing participant (does he hear himself here??? Hypocrisy much?)
EJ continues that Sami thought Arnold was Rafe and was not capable of consent. Arnold shrugs that its a gray area. EJ says that murdering Fay Walker wasn't a gray area. Arnold says he will just do what he was going to do last time and testify against EJ.
Holly is shocked at the suggestion they attend together. Doug3 notes there are two tickets. Holly admits she has no plans. Doug3 has no friends. He tells her to run it by Tate to see if it's OK. She calls Tate.
Sophia is hurt and emotional. Tate says they have to get their stories straight. He told Brady he was visiting Kim and Shane and apparently is confident Brady will not speak to them ever. Sophia told her mom she is road tripping to check out colleges with Brianna. Tate goes to get his bag. Sophia says at least Holly isn't having fun either.
Holly complains that Tate is not answering his phone (we see her name on his phone, which is on silent for some reason). She will go back in person to see if he will grant permission for her to go to the concert with Doug3. She gets his digits.
