Days of Our Lives - Fri., Jan. 10, 2025

Bill Hayes (Doug) passed away in Jan. 2024, a year ago. The episodes we are seeing this week were filmed last summer, so Susan Seaforth Hayes (Julie) was still mourning his death when she had to do these scenes. When she mentioned they always kissed before going to sleep (Julie & Doug) that was a truth in the lives of Bill & Susan. Had to be difficult for Susan, filming those scenes.

Holly was much more mature with Doug than she is with Tate

I feel like they're trying to age these people right in front of us. I feel like once we get to summer they'll be skipping to they're out of college or something.

I only saw a little but the Julie scenes were sad.

Am I the only one who can't figure out where the Sarah and Stephanie friendship comes from? I'm actually glad to see people having friends and mixing it up but it just struck me that I can't figure out their connection.

I can't believe Dougie confessed.

Agreed!
rewrite of John going to Greece to fake Catharina's death doesn't really make sense since John was eaten
He went to Greece to send a warning was the original story. Today it was explained that that was Victor's cover story. John remembered nothing. He never remembered killing her.
Well, if she were ever awake she'd know.
:rotfl: :rotfl:
Had we heard about Elizabeth before today and I just didn't pay attention?
Yes, I summarized the episode when Steve dug up the info on Elizabeth. I think she even had a maiden name.
Finally, I just can’t get interested in the adventures of Cat and her mane.
I'm having trouble investing in her, too, but I think she could fit somewhere on this show. She's a quirky secretary trying to play spy and it's not floating for me.

John would have no memory of this mission as he was the Pawn at the time. Last year he and Steve found out that Elizabeth had vanished right after Catharina's "death" and assumed Konstantin had killed her. This all works given what we were previously told.

Putting Cat into Marlena’s orbit makes me think that she will be John's daughter (the other 3 Greenes will be the children of Catharina's husband). I had always assumed Victor would be Catharina's father. That could also still be true though.

Catharina was 16 at the time of the faked death but then moved to America. It's not much of a leap to think Victor sent John to check on Elizabeth and Catharina after they settled in the States and once she was over 18. Again, John would have no memory of this. His memories start in our 1986 once he escaped Victor.

Continuing this thought:
Victor's part only makes sense though if when Elizabeth contacted him for help she told him he was Catharina's biological father. Otherwise what is his motivation? That would make Cat doubly related to Brady and his kids and her and the rest of the Greenes Kiriakis grandchildren.

Found it, from your summary on 4/17/24:
They talk about what Konstantin's ex-wife might know, and Marlena worries about this a little. She just wants John prepared for what Ms. Meleounis might say. He gets an alert on his phone, he has information on Konstantin's ex-wife (Elizabeth Sedaris) whom he married in 1970. He goes to the bar to make the call.

I'm guessing Aaron will be back around the time Tate has "bonded" with Sophia's baby and is actually looking forward to his/her birth, only to find out Aaron is the real dad. (just speculation on my part)

Or, once baby Choi/Black is born and needs bone marrow and oddly, one of the Greene siblings is a match. (again, speculation on my part)

I like Holly with Dougie. I hate her with Tate. Together, they are a pile of teen stupid. But I don't want Tate with Sophia either. Unless they make her a villain, she deserves better. Tate is such a pile of mashed potato. "I meant to tell her..." "I was on my way to tell her..." He has zero gumption.

I hope this means Philip's secret will be out soon, and Stephanie doesn't back track or get interrupted. I'm tired of the corporate fight plots.

Of course, there will be an idiotic twist that makes no sense. The writers are incapable of following through on their best impulses, but giving in to the worst ones and riding them into the ground is their superpower.
