Well, it seems that Serena's character development is around the level of decency that Paul and Aiden were awarded.
As for the heroine, Sami was not one. She went from being a villainess, to being semi-rootable at times with Lucas and then with Rafe, to being a total dummy.
Instead of bringing on a new character for the role of heroine or bringing someone back, they should use what they have. Make Theresa more rootable, and use Nicole more as that kind of character. I'd be fine with bringing back Carrie and I guess Belle, too.
