Big cast changes

Thanks, JS. Bo's illegal, warrantless break-ins while carrying a gun were all low-level felonies. His most serious offense was when he illegally held Fake Rafe in one of Salem's many warehouses and assaulted him in an effort to get information. This was arguably kidnapping, which is a serious felony.
 
Hmmmmm, so maybe the rumors about Ben being killed and it will be HIS funeral are true? No need for Ciara if Ben isn't there for her to wrap herself around. And the show spent so much of their limited money to give them a big, beautiful wedding.
 
Hmmmmm who is going to be left? All the posts I have seen from other places it looks like most of the cast was “let go” or decided to not come back. No Hernandez, very few Bradys, limited Hortons, a couple of Dimeras. I guess they will start new dynasties.

I'll always suspect there was character assassination involved (of Aiden and later Chase). Some of the "writers" must have not liked the couple. There is no other possible explanation, even Days "writers" cannot be so incompetent.

I know what you are saying Poirot, but this time, it's for real. Kristian Alfonso (Hope) said it was time and thanked all her fans and how much she will miss all her friends on the show. Although, some of them are friend in her real life.
 
It was "for real" when other actors left, too. But many willingly came back. The grass isn't always greener. Kristian Alfonso (Hope) has left before, seeking other things in life, yet returned to the show.
 
Yes, I know at times, an actor feels penned in, wants to spread their wings a bit, hopefully strrike it lucky in prime time or movies. It has happened in the past. However, just is no longer the same climate out there now, as existed in the past. So many soaps were cancelled, yet it seems difficult to find writers, producers, actors, etc. who know how to work in a soap. But then, then tis more work, not as much pay, I guess.LOL
 
Kristian Alfonso (Hope) is a great actor and she is being horribly used. The Princess Gina story was awful. Just awful. Been there, done that and it wasn't that great the first time around. I hope she finds what she's looking for and has a brighter future ahead. She will be missed.
 
She has left before for a few years hasn't she? Might be back. But yeah I don't blame her either with her storylines. Had they let her happily wed she could still be married to Aiden. He could have let her be with a dying Bo. Would have been good story. That was about the only time I really liked Hope.

I was surprised that Victoria Konefal (Ciara) is also leaving. To me that is more shocking.
 
This is sad. I've been watching Days since the '80s. I used to watch with my mother, and when she died, I was on a flight back from her funeral in Mississippi, and I looked up and Kristian Alfonso (Hope) was on my flight. I always thought it was like a funny joke between me and my mother.

But I don't blame her. The writing on this show has been scattered and ridiculous. You can no longer pin your love or love-to-hate for characters because the writers are all over the map. Just when they get something good going, and you start to get into a couple or a storyline, they blow it up with something crazy.
 
I was also stunned by this news. I never thought she'd leave on her own. Her post does say she filmed her last scene months ago so maybe she does leave with Rafe? I wasn't a fan of the Hope/Rafe pairing either but I do like both characters and I don't want to see either one killed off. Plus the foreshadowing seems to be there based on the past couple weeks.

I also think she will be back at some point. If she hasn't done a lot outside of Days at this point, it's hard to believe she will suddenly start getting roles elsewhere. Unless she plans to leave the business altogether.

No surprise whatsoever about Victoria Konefal (Ciara). I'm surprised it took this long.

I've heard rumors about others leaving too but I guess they are not confirmed yet. I'm personally scared about Eric and Nicole.

Absolutely - it was a classic example of the new headwriters trashing characters created by the last set. Happens all the time on soaps. I believe there had been "tinkering" by them during the end of the previous writer's stuff, which ended up killing off some of the characters created by their predecessor. I'd have to look up the names.

I also am flummoxed by Kristian Alfonso's departure (Hope), but not at all surprised about Victoria Konefal's (Ciara). She is young, talented, and very attractive - she needs to stretch out elsewhere before she is labeled "just" a soap actress (a term I hate, for the record).
 
I believe Hope returned briefly in 1990 for Cruise of Deception story where she was “killed” by Ernesto Toscano in the vat of acid. She returned in 1994 as “Gina” at Maison Blanche and it took a good year for her and everyone find out that she was really Hope. So that was 25 years ago and she has been on the show since then. I don’t blame her for wanting to take a break.

As for Ciara, unfortunately her character has not had anything interesting for well over a year. Some people have liked her romance with Ben. I’m not one of them. I am hoping this summer Eve returns and gets her revenge against Ben for killing Paige. Maybe Eve can use a red neck tie to do the deed.
