I think that's what makes weekends and holidays harder for some of us. It's natural to feel like most of the world is out doing fun things. I've learned to weigh the pros and cons. No, I do not want to go out on weekends, when there is more traffic and more congestion in stores, and the things the younger people are doing don't appeal to me anymore anyway. Same with holidays. Even if somebody comes and gets me and brings me home, do I really want to spend a few days getting up early and rushing around to get ready to go to one thing and another, where there are people who are nice to me but still not familiar enough for me to be at ease, especially with no way for me to leave when I feel like it but need to wait until it fits with everybody else's plans? Such considerations seem petty when we're young (mainly because we're more independent when we're young and we know we can come and go as we wish) but not so much when we get older. (At least some of us).
