Stefano and Victor are deceased. EJ has been nerfed (although I like the comic take on the character). Kristen's evil mostly focuses on her obsession with her almost-stepson, Brady.

Clyde has waaaaaaaaaaaaay overstayed his welcome.

So which Salemite would you pick to become the next "Big Bad" character? And would your bad guy/girl stick around for decades, or be a short-term character?

I pick Abigail Johanna Deveraux DiMera DiMera Hernandez DiMera DiMera.

She never died! She faked her own death and framed poor innocent Clyde for her murder AND her drug-running operation, all in the guise of a mild-mannered reporter and DiMera housewife. She was so powerful and had such a strong organization that even Clyde didn't know she was his boss.

She's also behind the Cat scheme, caused their car crash, and tried to program Cat to replace her.

Her return shakes Chad, Jennifer, and stalwart reporter Jack to their core. She's angry that her father kept leaving her life, furious that her mother was always focused on winning back or moving on from Jack, and has been secretly operating the business with her former stepfather, Peter, through a network of operatives spanning the globe since 2010.

We also learn Ben Weston was in the ISA and was programmed to take her out, but fell in love with her. That's why his murders were OK. André was her partner for a while, but when he turned on her, she dealt with him, and faked her DID because she knew Chad was gullible. Also, Ben fathered Thomas, and Stefan fathered Charlotte (both of whom get shipped to boarding school after a custody battle with Chad and Cat).

An evil Horton, an evil Deveraux, and a Stefano-level evil DiMera all rolled into one - and we can fix a lot of story missteps while we're at it.

(I know it seems less than plausible - but we've got a show where almost everyone was dead at one point or another, so... let's "go with it"!)

What I did when I read this!

Of all those mentioned......It seems Andre fits it all, long term. Problem is.....would the actor be willing?

Both Victor & Stefano were bad guys, but were likeable, as is Andre. Neither Kristen or Clyde are likeable. I don't mean that in the sense of "oh, I cannot stand them, hate them, hope they are gone soon..". But Vic & Stef had soft spots, but always were the bad guys. Kristen & Clyde are just bad guys, all the time.

Days needs to bring on another character, who is smart, witty, but always alert....not letting anyone best him.

I don't think André is likable. Thaao Penghlis is, and Tony is, so André only works as a villain if Tony is around to offset him in my opinion.

Clyde was good fresh villainy for a bit, but it's stale. André would also be a bit stale. He's already pretended to murder the town and actually murdered the town.

I think we should find out that Henderson and Harold are actually the big bad crime bosses who are responsible for everything bad that happens in Salem, and their secret combined wealth makes Shane Donovan look like a pauper. (which would be funny since he could probably buy and sell the DiMera and Kiriakis families ten times over)

A potential baddie could be Benchie. He (yes, Benchie is male, don't ask how I know) is the number one suspect in a series of splinter incidents. When brought in for questioning, he didn't help his case by giving such wooden answers, evoking no emotion. The cop shop is at a loss and told him they would have to sit on it for while.

I'd take Rafe. It would give him a reason for being. He's in a position where he can yay or nay criminals, overlooking things, under-looking things. No one would suspect him being at a crime scene. He knows folks everywhere from his former ISA/FBI/CIA/DOD/DOE/NCIS/GSIS/CDC/DHHS/Homeland Security/ TSA jobs. Okay, some of those may be made up, but you get the idea. He knows people. Who says they all have to be good people?

Oh that would be wonderful! Especially for the first six months or so - who would suspect sweet old Rafe?

It would also make @brisbydog happy since she hates him! LOL

And the show's shown that criminals can be commissioner (and not just Bo) - or at least sorta shown it, since most of Gina/Hope's time as commish was during the jump.

Great imagination, Robin. The part demands a very good actor and Galen Gering (Rafe) fills the bill. His change of character could be blamed on the head injuries that led to his coma. Bad Rafe could start out as a corrupt police commissioner and then expand into Stefano/Victor villainy. Javier could be his junior partner in crime. (Sorry, Leo)
