Wedding Theme

So the wedding is scheduled for the middle of the summer Olympics. Let's come up with a themed reception. We have several countries represented: Italy (DiMeras), Greece (Kiriakis), Mexico (Hernandez), USA (just about everyone else).

I will pick "archery" for the theme. All the party favors are bows and arrows. One of the arrow is tipped with poison. The target is ?

Here are other possible events for themes:

Badminton. Basketball. Beach volleyball. Boxing. Canoe Slalom. Cycling. Diving. Equestrian. Fencing

Football. Golf. Gymnastics. Handball. Hockey. Judo. Pentathalon. Rowing. Rugby. Sailing. Shooting.

Swimming. Table Tennis. Taekwondo. Tennis. Triathlon. Volleyball. Water polo. Weightlifting. Wrestling
 
I pick Soccer. And Ireland to win. Everything will be in beautiful colors of green. The Greeks will do Javelin and discus throwing. Mexico will lose soccer to Ireland. And the good ol USA will win everything else!
 
Well, I was raised in an Italian neighborhood, though it is not MY background heritage. And having been to a few Italian weddings, especially that of my very BFF, I think an Italian theme would go well. Am married to half Irish, half Italian, so it could all be covered . Jeannie T is half British, half Irish, Brady is half Italian, half, who knows with John? LOL.

Any way, I think the wedding cake should be shaped like the Olympic rings.

The bridesmaids could be in lovely green which is a color in both the Italian & Irish flags, the ushers boutonnieres are red, white & blue.......colors of British & American flags. The bride wears a small pendant or locket with the Olympic rings fashioned within.

At the tables, each table centerpiece is flowers designed in a shape representing an Olympic event, with everyone getting a keychain devoted to an event with the Olympic rings embossed on it. ....
 
Nearly forgot, nothing better than anything Italian in the food dept....from Antipasto to Lasagna to salads to bakery, and then...naturally there would be green beer. Can't have anything Irish without green beer. And yes, the bride would wear a tiara..Hail to the queen. LOL

You all have NO IDEA how "down" I am with a wrestling themed wedding. Guests surround the ring and jump in to interfere if needed. Table announcers are: Victor (because his commentary is ALWAYS hilarious!), the ghost of Stefano, and the ghost of Christmas past (because why not?) and the ring announcer is crazy Abigail (she'll bring the fireworks for the entrances). Yes!
