Was hiring Christopher Sean (Paul) a tribute to Brenda Benet (Lee DuMonde) and her son?

Brenda Benet played Lee Dumonde on DOOL. In real life she was married to Bill Bixby and they had a son named Christopher Sean Bixby who died a year before Brenda took her own life. Those must have been some dark DAYS. Surely, the DOOL regime recognized the familiar name?

By the way, Paul's full real name is Christopher Sean Friel.

Christopher Sean (Paul) is a gifted performer, however, I do recall when DOOL was casting the character of Paul, they were looking for an African American.
