They sure do have to constantly come up with something different, don't they? Just when you get all your items adjusted to something new and different........they change it all again. We have had Day on regular TV, on to Facebook, other different networks, streaming, (which many don't have).
And while the suits want to stay "in the groove" , and now focus on Tik Tok , I don't think they are getting new viewers, as much as they are losing long time, faithful ones. But they don't matter, gotta try and entice the young ones.........who either are in school, at work, or raising small children. We read of so many viewers who became fans because of watching the show with Mom, or grandma who was babysitting. But going only online..........bad move.
Sorry Guiding Light ended, was a faithful viewer, but time marches on. And I am fearful the same is going to happen for Days. We have lost various soaps............the producers just refused to acknowledge who their audience was, and what they wanted/expected from their soaps. Yes, viewership changed but the shows seemed unable to adjust. I used to think that alternating the days............i.e. GL on Mon., Wed., Fri. & As The World Turns on Tues/Thurs...............something like that, could possibly work.........guess not.
