Victor and Maggie Kiriakis proudly announce the arrival in Salem of their great-grandson, Christopher, whose name is subject to change without notice. His happy parents are Brady Black, the sometime head of Titan Industries, and Ms. Jeannie Theresa Donovan, formerly of California, who is employed at Salem University Hospital and occasionally actually shows up for work there. In honor of the new arrival, Mr. and Mrs. Kiriakis are planning a festive party at the family mansion just as soon as Mr. Kiriakis finishes celebrating the reported death of Kristen DiMera. Everyone will be welcome at this grand event except Chloe Lane Black, Vivian Alamain, Nicole Walker, Stefano DiMera, Chad DiMera, Clyde Weston, and the new mother's sister, Eve Donovan.

[Thanks to Kathy Lu for suggesting this thread.]

Mr. and Mrs. John Black are proud to announce the arrival of their newest grandchild, Baby Boy Donovan-Black, formerly known as Christoper. The baby's parents Jeannie Theresa Donovan and Brady Victor Black are over the moon. Additional aunts and uncles include prominent Salemites such as Eve Donovan Larsen, Andrew Donovan, Belle Black Brady, Samantha Gene Brady Reed Roberts Dimera Hernandez Dimera, Eric Brady and newfound uncle Paul Narita.

Salem's distinguished visitors this week include veteran travelers Doug and Julie Williams, the parents of Hope Brady, a popular member of the Salem P.D. who is well known for Town Square socializing and occasionally shooting dangerous criminals. While in Salem, Doug and Julie plan to visit with Hope and her new love interest, distinguished attorney Aiden Jennings, whose most important client is Clyde Weston, an allegedly unsavory man whom our police hope to arrest soon. Most of all, Doug and Julie are thrilled at the chance to see their granddaughter, Ciara, a delightful young lady with the best-known backpack in town. We at the Spectator wish Doug and Julie an enjoyable stay in Salem and express the fond hope that there will be no nefarious DiMera doings or tunnel explosions while they are here.

The Salem Spectator accompanied a couple of Salem residents to San Francisco this week! Included in this photo of the paper is John Black and an unidentified man taking in a spectacular view of the Golden Gate Bridge. Justin Kiriakis submitted this selfie with an older edition of the Spectator in a beautiful garden in San Francisco. We love the vintage thumb caught in the frame of the picture! Was it coincidence that the two Salemites were in The City by the Bay simultaneously? It is unlikely that their visit had anything in common, since both men travel the world routinely on business. However, it has been reported that Salem's newest hero, Paul Narita, was also seen in San Francisco recently. Narita recently was involved with a charity event that was chaired by Black, and has also been linked to Kiriakis's son, Sonny. We'll have to catch up with our paper-toting friends when they return home and get the scoop!

Yesterday, our beloved Town Square was the scene of the always-popular annual Salem Bake-off. Leading entries in this year's festive event were: distinguished businesswoman Kate Roberts Brady's tasty special brownies; beloved Pub proprietress Caroline Brady's delicious Irish soda bread; and international businessman and alleged tax evader Stefano DiMera's marvelous biscotti, which were prepared using his sainted mother's recipe. As usual, a fan favorite was Maggie Kiriakis's wonderful oatmeal-raisin cookies, which were quickly devoured by her beloved husband, Victor, leaving many hungry attendees disappointed. When the coveted blue ribbon was awarded, the surprise winner was the special donuts prepared by hard-working hospital administrator Jennifer Deveraux and her handsome son JJ, which had left the judges in a particularly good mood. Sorry, Salemites, but when queried about the recipe, JJ coyly answered that it must remain a family secret.

Back from a short sojourn to the beautiful Italian countryside were Dr. Marlena Evans Black, her son, Brady Black, and their friends Jeannie Theresa Donovan (granddaughter of Caroline Brady, owner of the Brady Pub) and Melanie Jonas, daughter of renown surgeon, Dr. Daniel Jonas. Titan chief Victor Kiriakis was especially pleased to see them all returning so soon, as he finally got to meet his recently born great grandson.

Returning from the City by the Bay, leading Salem businessman John Black has belatedly, but proudly, announced the birth of his son, Paul Narita, which took place almost twenty-five years ago. Mr. Narita, a famous baseball superstar, was the product of a romantic, loving encounter between Mr. Black and Ms. Tori Narita of San Francisco. Sadly, untoward circumstances prevented the joyous reunion of father and son until recently. As many will recall, Mr. Narita was the subject of a sensitive, but ungrammatical and cliche-ridden article in Sonix magazine written by brilliant local journalist Will Horton, which revealed that the star pitcher was gay, but, sadly, that his baseball career has ended despite the heroic efforts of University Hospital super-surgeon and noted ladies-man Dr. Daniel Jonas. The upside is that Mr. Narita is now free to frequently visit or even relocate to our wonderful city. So fellow citizens, let's get ready to join Mr. Black and Mr. Horton in happily welcoming Mr. Narita when he arrives in Salem.

Salemites who are traveling this week include noted University Hospital psychiatrist Dr. Marlena Evans and well-known journalist Will Horton. Dr. Evans is once again off to sunny Italy, reportedly as the guest of international businessman and Salem fixture Stefano DiMera. We can only envy Dr. Evans's good fortune in being able to visit such an exciting, fascinating destination so frequently. The popular Mr. Horton is visiting Poplar Bluff, Missouri, to research an article for Sonix magazine on Salem newcomer, trucking executive Clyde Weston. We are certain that Mr. Horton will enjoy his springtime stay in the scenic Ozarks and that the people he encounters during his research will be as genial as Mr. Weston. When Dr. Evans and Mr. Horton return to our city, this reporter is looking forward to hearing all about their fun-filled sojourns.

Mr. Brady Black & Ms. Jeannie T. Donovan proudly announce the birth of their son, Tate. Although born with an auto immune problem, Tate has undergone successful bone marrow transplant surgery, and is on the road to recovery. Both parents are eager to bring their son home and introduce him to his family.

Mr. and Mrs. John Black would like to amend their previous announcement to announce that their new grandson will now be known as Tate Donovan-Black. Not to be confused with internationally renowned actor Tate Donovan, young Mr. Donovan-Black was named after someone much more prominent, Ms. Melanie Layton Jonas.

NBC is so very proud of new Salem resident Tate Black, that plans are in the making to produce a series of James Bond-type movies beginning in 2035 with Mr. Black as the star (taping delay is necessary to cut costs as the child grows into a man). NBC honchos have decried that the first words in the series will be the character announcing himself as "the name's Black, Tater Tot Black".

Mr & Ms Doug Williams were the dinner guests of prominent attorney Aiden Jennings and his divorcée gal pal, Salem Detective Hope Brady, at Salem's finest eating establishment, Club TBD. Detective Brady enjoyed the Salmon kebabs, while Mr Jennings was noted to devour three lobster tails. Also in attendance were Detective Brady's daughter Ciara and Mr Jenning's son Chase. Chase enjoyed chicken fingers with barbecue sauce, but was unable to complete the puzzle on the kids' menu. Ciara forewent eating her meal, asking instead for the money to be put toward a bracelet from Barron's. Detective Brady declined this request, but an eagle-eyed patron noticed that Mr & Ms Williams each slipped $10 to the girl secretly. Iced cream beverages were the sweet course.
