SAG'S UNCLAIMED RESIDUALS LIST INCLUDES "DAYS" STARS FROM THE EARLY YEARS THROUGH TODAY...

Deadline Hollywood reported that many famous people are listed in the "unclaimed residuals" page of SAG, meaning the people (or their estate) are owed money but can't be located (even though the list includes Oscar winners and former Presidents, so some should be very easy to locate).

Upon reading the article, I decided to see if any "Days" actors are owed money, and found quite a few. You can do a search for any actor and see if they are owed money on this page: http://www.sagaftra.org/search-unclaimed-residuals

After a quick search, I've found that the estates of Macdonald Carey (Tom), Frances Reid (Alice) and Edward Mallory (Bill) are owed money as well as more recent and current "Days" stars, such as Nadia Bjorlin (Chloe), Ian Buchanan (Ian), Molly Burnett (Melanie), Crystal Chappell (Carly), Shawn Christian (Daniel), Christie Clark (Carrie), Galen Gering (Rafe), Deidre Hall (Marlena), Mark Hapka (Nathan), Bill Hayes (Doug), Susan Seaforth Hayes (Julie), Shelley Hennig (Stephanie), Drake Hogestyn (John), Joseph Mascolo (Stefano), Allison Paige (Bev), Melissa Reeves (Jennifer), James Reynolds (Abe), James Scott (EJ)...and even the youngest "Days" stars of all, 1-year-old twins Harper & Sydnee Udell (Arianna)!

edited to add character names...please remember that not everyone knows the real names of the actors who play the various characters......JS

No, these checks are waiting to be claimed by the actors. For some reason, SAG doesn't seem to have the best system of finding people, so even Frances Reid (Alice), who was so heavily involved in the unions, is owed money.

Here's what is says on the search page:

"You may be due residuals as a performer, loan out, or as a beneficiary/heir of a performer. If the Union is holding Unclaimed Residuals, it is because we can't locate you. We may not have current or updated information in our database or we may not know you are the rightful beneficiary/heir."

Thanks for the interesting article. According to an 2010 online article entitled Hollywood Guilds Hold $150 Million in Unclaimed Royalties, located at the Reuters website, SAG had over $17.5 million in unclaimed residuals for 69,184 people whom they couldn't find. At that time, it had a full-time staff trying to locate people and reportedly had found almost 6,000 people in the previous year. According to the author of the article, who was able to get unclaimed royalties due his late father's estate, he had to submit notarized forms and a death certificate in order to get the funds.
