05/27, Tuesday: 1.8/2,410,000
Daniel and Eric talk at cross-purposes: Daniel thinks his friend now knows that Nicole destroyed the Chyka proof, while Eric thinks Daniel is confirming that he's in love with Nicole. Before they can straighten things out, Roman demands to talk to Eric privately and gives his negative opinion about his son's upcoming marriage to Nicole. Meanwhile, Daniel goes to Nicole, who realizes he still thinks she told Eric the truth. She says goodbye in a somewhat final way, which twigs Daniel a bit before he goes into surgery. Then Eric calls Nicole, and when they meet up, he agrees to her plan to elope! Lucas swears he's innocent and tells Hope he doesn't need a lawyer. The police let Lucas go, with a warning. Sami and EJ agree to postpone their wedding. EJ tells Will the police are questioning Lucas. Will then goes to Hope to make a confession. Meanwhile, Victor offers Sonny a new lucrative job - overseas. Hope arrives with a search warrant for the mansion and finds the gun. Victor privately warns Sonny the next time he plans to kill a man, come to him first! Earlier, Nicole and Brady exchange some harsh words about his drinking. Later, Brady stops by Theresa's place, and they fool around. Theresa tries to tempt Brady with an offer to procure some cocaine. JJ and Paige study for finals but Bev and Rory show up, and Bev manages to mess with Paige's head with a well-placed STD test.

05/28, Wednesday: 1.8/2,501,000
Victor lets Sonny know he realized his nephew came to the mansion and got one of Victor's guns. He's adamant that Sonny needs to be protected and wants to fly him out of the country immediately. Meanwhile, Will is at the station, making a stunning confession. Hope summons Abe and together they question Will. Brady gives Theresa some money so she can buy some coke for herself, but insists he doesn't need any for himself. He briefly leaves to pick up some more alcohol and runs into John. After an unpleasant exchange, he returns to Theresa, who plays him carefully... and finally Brady lets go and tries the cocaine. Abigail shows up at Club TBD to find Gabi in the middle of a photo shoot and Ben watching Arianna for her. Abigail is thrown when Ben has a strong reaction to an innocent offer. Bev continues to mess with Paige's head, then takes off when JJ returns. Paige is off her pins but JJ is sweet and reassuring when he sees something is troubling her. Paige manages to put her uneasiness behind her. Marlena learns Roman has agreed to be Giselle's date for the auction and it leads to a little lighthearted teasing between the two. John sees their closeness, a sad reminder that Marlena has indeed moved on.

05/29, Thursday: 1.7/2,438,000
Eric arrives at Nicole's, ready to elope. Nicole has to dance as fast as she can to keep Eric and Daniel from talking - and to keep from her lie being exposed. Later, Eric goes to see Jennifer and resigns from the job she got him at the hospital. At the square, Nicole makes plans for the elopement, unaware that JJ overhears. JJ tells Daniel and Jennifer separately - and they react, surprised. Daniel arrives at Nicole's door... positively livid. Gabi visits with Rafe and Jordan, who both notice how much happier and freer she appears and she admits that as horrible as it all is, things are better now that Nick is out of her life. Sonny comes home, giving Gabi a shock when he tells her about Will's confession. Hope and Abe attempt to piece everything together regarding Nick's murder. EJ and Sami arrive at the station and try to talk some sense into Will.

05/30, Friday: 1.7/2,174,000
EJ, Sami and Lucas urge Will not to throw his life away. Sonny grapples with the possibility of losing the man he loves. Hope arrives with surprising news. When Daniel confronts Nicole and learns she has doubled down on her lies by telling Eric that Daniel is in love with her. Daniel finally realizes she will not come clean and is about to tell Eric himself when she makes one last impassioned plea - which someone overhears. When Daniel rejects Nicole's argument, she sees she has no choice. As she is about to accompany Daniel to see Eric, fate intervenes and a hospital emergency calls Daniel away. He cautions this changes nothing. A resolved Nicole finally meets up with Eric. Earlier, Eric mends fences with Marlena before preparing to leave town with Nicole.

Those look boring on their own. Good grief. And, Days is down ever more viewers this year? Numbers do not speak well for the show.

Ah, yes, this is the week I expected a big difference vs last year. That was the week Marlena exposed Kristen which was a huge week for Days. I think they hit 3+ million and third place.

Wow, Y&R keeps hitting lows. Yikes for them. I heard this was the week B&B did their location shoot in Dubai and they lost over 100,000 viewers? Wow, hope the expense of that was worth it. Good numbers for GH!

I'm left wondering whether they ever plan on bringing on a new head-writer(s), or if they're just hoping things'll turn around on their own. Wait - isn't that the definition of "insanity"? :beat:

Egad - they really need to do something and fast, if they think the 50th anniversary should revolve around some of their current pairings...just no!! :tsk:

But look at ALL the ratings! Not very good overall. Only GH gained viewers in any regard, but none in any of the coveted demographic ranges? Doesn't that mean that, compared to last year, if GH is +238,000, yet -22,000 (women 18-49), -38,000 (women 18-34), -3,000 (women 25-54)... that basically their extra 200,000 viewers are women less than 18 or greater than 54, or men? Seems unlikely, but what do I know! :) And those numbers don't make sense the way I'd expect them to (I would expect the 18-34 numbers to be included in the 18-49 numbers, but the smaller age range has a larger number!) , but I guess that's a different story. At any rate, none of the numbers seem very good... does make me wonder about the future of soaps in general.

Wow, Y&R really sank! Jeez!!! That is AWFUL! B&B is also losing viewers, but that doesn't surprise me with how they are writing their stories now. I had to stop watching, it was killing my brain cells. I don't watch GH, but I am glad they are doing well, and I hear it is interesting.

Days losing viewers is just the same ol' same ol' now. This week so far is off to a good start and I hope the show peaks with the Nick shooter reveal.

And just what do Y&R and Days have in common? SONY! Yet another huge part of IIC influence. I'm not sure about any affiliation with B&B. I'll also add that over several decades, the current Executive Producer at Y&R Jill Farren Phelps has chased me away from numerous soaps.
