Sami and EJ confront Kate about her intentions regarding Stefano. She plays coy and continues to hint that she would convince Stefano not to support Sami and EJ's marriage. Once she leaves, Sami convinces EJ they need to get married as soon as possible. They run into Abigail, and Sami asks her to help plan the wedding. Abigail balks but eventually agrees so as not to raise Sami's suspicions. Earlier, Abigail and Ben share a romantic moment in the park before Jordan sends her brother a text, needing to talk. Ben advises Jordan to have faith that Rafe will eventually come around but Jordan fears he is slipping away from her. Earlier, Jordan tries to boost Rafe's spirits but he snaps, wanting to be alone to deal with his guilt. She reluctantly leaves but Lucas soon joins him and inadvertently makes him feel worse. Kate arrives in time to shoo away her son and Rafe ends up confiding in her. Encountering Brady while he is high on cocaine, John accuses his son of using again. Brady denies this and rushes out to meet with Theresa. Seeing his father has followed him, Brady suggests to Theresa that they go back to her place, where he gets drunk and they make love. Theresa realizes John would do anything to protect Brady and gets an idea. Earlier, Theresa taunts JJ about Paige, saying she might have to give his little girlfriend the scoop on him. He later meets up with Paige and gives her a sweet gift. She confesses Marybeth has once again been badmouthing him but promises that nothing anyone says will change her mind about him. When she later compares JJ to Jack, JJ covers his unease.

Jennifer visits Daniel and tries to repair the rift between them. Maggie interrupts, needing comfort. Once Maggie's gone, Daniel tells Jennifer in a heartfelt way that her opinion matters more than just about anyone else's, and he can't get past what she thought about him. Jennifer swears she loves him and pulls him into a kiss. Abigail accidentally makes Ben think she regrets kissing him but she assures him that's not the case. Later, Ben and Jordan meet up, and Kate spies them together. She takes a photo of Ben and sends it to her detective. Meanwhile, Ben tries to talk to Rafe on Jordan's behalf. Will and Sonny try to adjust to life without Gabi. Will expresses worry that he's not earning anything by writing, and Sonny privately tells Arianna maybe they can do something about that. When Sami realizes what Nicole has done to Eric, the two women get into a huge catfight! Eric breaks it up. Knowing that Eric met with the bishop earlier, Nicole wonders if he's returning to the priesthood. Jordan admits to Abigail things aren't great with Rafe right now. Sami interrupts them and drags Abigail off to discuss wedding plans.

06/18, Wednesday: 1.9/2,667,000
Eric tells Nicole that the bishop may need to speak to her to corroborate the authenticity of the Chyka letters. Nicole is willing at first but is put off by Eric's anger. Marlena arrives and learns how Nicole kept the evidence from her son. Once alone, Marlena blasts Nicole - who then swears she will not help Eric clear his name with the church. Daniel tells Jennifer he sees no easy fix for what he now knows - that Jennifer believes Daniel would let Eric live a lie before he would betray Nicole's confidence. Daniel tells Jennifer they need time apart, and a wrecked Jennifer goes. JJ visits Daniel and learns of their break. Later, Daniel meets with a new patient who's just returned to Salem: Eve. Aiden uses outstanding parking tickets to leverage Howell out of his reservation for the Salem Inn ballroom - saving the gala and impressing Hope. Sami ropes Abigail into helping plan her wedding - and the poor girl is tortured at spending time with the groom and bride-to-be. Sami shocks Abigail by asking her to be her maid of honor - and a flustered Abigail has no choice but to accept. Later, EJ and Abigail end up in a compromising position - will Sami discover them?

06/19, Thursday: 1.8/2,291,000
Victor summons Kate and fires her for taking back up with Stefano and for letting company secrets slip to the competition. Kate protests but Victor kicks her out. She goes in a huff. Meanwhile, EJ and Abigail work to keep their secret from Sami. An angry Kate arrives and confronts Sami about what happened with Victor, accusing her of setting her up. Sami denies it but angry words are exchanged and a food fight breaks out. Kate assures EJ and Sami she will tell Stefano they can't be trusted. Daniel welcomes a new patient, Eve, who wants him to perform elective throat surgery. She lived in Salem at one time and now that she's back, she's interested in picking up her singing career once more. Laboring to put his issues with Jennifer out of his mind, Daniel is happy to be of help. At the same time, JJ is worried about Jennifer's future with Daniel, but she asks him to put it aside for now. They find her old yearbook and he learns a little more about the high school boyfriend she lost to a rival. Once JJ leaves, Victor arrives and reacts with disgust when he sees the picture of that "rival": Eve Donovan! An angry Nicole lashes out at Marlena, insisting she won't help Eric when the church reviews his case. This gets out of control quickly as the women hurl insults, and Eric intervenes. Marlena tells Eric what Nicole said, then leaves them to hash it out. Nicole tries to take back what she said. In the heat of the moment, Eric lashes out, letting her know just how much she hurt him. Stung by her encounter with Eric, when Nicole later gets a call from the bishop's office, she explains she's not interested in helping.

Paige receives a warning to stay away from Theresa. Meanwhile, Cole finds JJ to let him know how Bev tried to break up him and Paige. JJ encounters Bev and lets her have it. She tells him it's never going to work out with him and that "good girl." He tells Bev he's done with her. Later, JJ gets a surprise when he goes looking for Paige. Daniel picks up Parker and informs Maggie he and Jennifer are taking a break. As much as he loves Jennifer for who she is, this is a fundamental issue that's come up between them that he doesn't see going away. He brings Parker home, glad to be back with his son but knowing his life may have now changed for the worse. Meanwhile, Hope visits Jennifer. She sees the yearbook open to a picture of Eve and is curious, but Jennifer says it's not important. She tells Hope about the fight she had with Daniel. Brady wakes up alone in Theresa's bed, some of the events of the night before a blank. He finds some cocaine by her bedside and uses it to get him going. He goes to the hospital to find Theresa - where she's having an innocent moment with Aiden. Brady gets jealous and makes it clear he's not interested in pursuing anything with her if she's playing the field. Liking this possessive side of Brady, Theresa assures him she isn't.

GH had over 3 million viewers for the week and is still doing great in the demos. That's great for them! That is the soap I like to compare DAYS to because it's the only soap on it's network.

Thanks.....Boy O Boy I keep thinking something will turn DAYS around, but they just keep sinking lower, there is no way on God's green earth DAYS will ever catch up with #3 GH! Y&R, B&B, and GH all have 3 to 4 millions viewers and DAYS can barely scrape together a little over 2 million. The two days of 1.9 and 1.8 viewers wanted to see Eve, and that wasn't much of a bump!

Well, I only watched on Wednesday to see Nicole lay into Marlena ("You unleashed Sami on the world" :rotfl:) and on Thursday I watched for those hilarious scenes at the mansion between Sami, Kate, EJ, and Abby. I personally have yet to get invested in Eve.

The show is still angling one couple and one storyline, going so far as to reveal how things turn out in upcoming spoilers. Its not working, but they film so far ahead that its the only thing they have to work with and they can't turn back.

Have been saying for some time, their filming schedule may be cost effective, but losing viewers means way less money from sponsors, so...in the long run, they are doing themselves in. They need to slow down. 5 mos. ahead ..egads. Impossible to "fix" anything that is losing them viewers.

Yes, that has been true, Heather! In fact a fiveway tie for first place is virtually unheard of, at least since I've been reading Mr. 47's postings.

However it takes a while for good writing changes to show an effect in the ratings, long-term, beyond a spike here or there.

I still think that the show continues to harm itself through what it chooses to emphasize and publicize. In my opinion by continually hard selling to only one specific fan base, it's alienating many other viewers. I could be wrong, in the long run people might just tune in for wedding this week, but I think that giving away the end result through detailed spoilers was a mistake.
