You know, when I lived (born and raised) in Chicago, I don't know why, but I thought of Thanksgiving Day being celebrated everywhere, yes Canada, Mexico, Hawaii, South America. And when I moved up here, was like living in a different country. LOL. So close to Canada.........and only being able to get one TV station. Eventually we got a big antenna ...on a huge pole........and thus were able to get the other 2 network TV programs, and even PBS from Eau Claire. (network came from Duluth). Anyway, soon learned Thanksgiving was only in U.S......that Canada had it's own Thanksgiving day, which was different. See, that big antenna, on the very tall pole, got me ability to watch Canadian TV, I loved it. But .......all good things come to an end. TV stations changed, going to pay TV, Cable, etc. The antenna no longer worked, the tall pole became a handy thing to attach one end of a clothes line to, with other end to a tree. (nothing better than hanging sheets and pillow cases outside to dry in the sun and a nice breeze. Sure does smell great. Yep, lost Canada TV, but remember it, and am grateful was able to get it when I did. And yes, I have driven up, crossed the border, drove around, visited a mall, dined in a restaurant, had a good time.
Don't drive far any more, just around town now.........but ah, yes............I remember it well.
