This is a sad and tragic story, but unfortunately seems to occur way too often. Columbus Blue Jackets (hockey player) Johnny Gaudreau (31) and his brother Matthew (29) were killed Thursday night (8/29/24) while riding their bikes by an alleged drunk driver in New Jersey. What even makes the story a little more sad is the timing of their passing. They were both going to be groomsmen for their sister's wedding this weekend. Instead of celebrating a wedding the family now has to mourn a senseless and preventable death of not just one son but two.

Johhny and his wife have two young children, a 1-year-old and a 6-month-old. I feel bad for the family, especially those two kids who will never get a chance to know their father and how he was taken away from them at such an early age.

The NY Post has a story showing pictures of Johnny and his wife at the rink with him wearing his Columbus Blue Jackets uniform while they each held one of their kids.

RIP to Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau and prayers to their family and friends.

Can you believe the reaction of the dirtbag driver while appearing in court earlier today? Here is a direct quote from the article along with the link to the article below.

"The alleged drunk driver who fatally plowed into NHL star Johnny Gaudreau and his younger brother as they were biking in southern New Jersey Thursday night appeared to sigh with exasperation when he learned he would be held in jail through next week."

Really dude? You just murdered two innocent people and destroyed the lives of their family and you are exasperated that you have to stay in jail? Geez, sorry for the inconvenience that this is causing you.

Unreal! The sad part is he'll probably get a slap on the wrist and only get 10 or 15 years in prison.

This is so unbearably tragic. My prayers are with the family as they go through this grieving process together.

There have been way too many drunk-driving accidents lately that we hear about. Who knows how many there are that we don't hear about.
