Ok. I got addicted recently and started watching old videos of Melanie with Philip on YouTube. I really liked those two together. Well, of course, it didn't hurt that Jay Kenneth Johnson (Philip) is very good looking. I really liked those two together.

I came across the scene where she told Philip she did love him however she couldn't be with him because of Parker being Philip's child. Well, now Parker is Daniel's so can we please have Jay Kenneth Johnson come back. I would love to have Philip come back be with Melanie and he could take on Chad.

edited to write out actor's name....we do not allow using only initials to refer to actors....JS

When and if, the writers decide to bring back Philip (Jay Kenneth Johnson), I would like to see a reunion of The Last Blast kids: Shawn-Douglas/Jason Cook, Belle/Martha Madison, Chloe/Nadia Bjorlin and Mimi/Farah Fath. I'd also like to see Mimi and Philip become a couple, while Brady and Chloe reunite.

Melanie does not belong with Philip. She belongs on the first plane back to wherever her mother is in Europe. Maybe she can giggle or fast talk her way onto the throne of Alamania.

I did not much care for Nathan either, and think that actually, the guy who was the Philip recast might have worked better in the Nathan role. (Kyle Brandt)

I'm neutral on Philip. But I do want Chloe back, at least part time.

Me too. As much as Kyle Lowder will ALWAYS be Brady to me, I prefer Brady back with Chloe over any members of his carousel of women over the past 4 years.

Belle was played by Kirsten Storms during the high school generation. But I agree with everything except bringing Mimi back. She and Rex can stay far away from Salem.

The only positive thing I can say about Philip is that when Melanie was with him, she was not a giant toddler. However I disliked them as a couple and Philip's aging is the 3rd most annoying in Days history (for me).

Completely agree about Melanie and Philip. And his aging was exacerbated by the recast.

I would only accept Philip back if played by Jay Kenneth Johnson. I do think there is a need for him in Salem to go up against Chad. The only thing I've seen him do recently was guest star on 1 episode of Melissa & Joey about 2 years ago.

Aw, Poirot. I just came back as a partial viewer. Did you really want me to turn around and walk back out the door when Days needs viewers most of all?

On a serious note, I thought Melanie and Nathan had really good chemistry. I don't think Mark Hapka (Nathan) was a fan of the writing team, though, and the backstage turmoil ended up costing him. What Sheri Anderson could have done with those two...

I'd also like to see Philip return, but it's likely going to have to be a new actor playing the part.

Yep....the writing is at fault with most everything. Days has had really good actors, but story, dialogue, repetition, have not been fair to those good actors. Sheri Anderson HAS been asked to come aboard, but she says NO. And I have a hunch that the interference from network honchos MIGHT be the reason. Also the reason even the present writers don't do well.

I agree with you completely. As for the Dario suggestion, I wasn't really a big fan of that pairing, but they weren't horrible. I guess I could tolerate it because it would give Rafe some family in town besides Arianna.

Speaking of Melanie's past, if she and Jeannie T. ever sit down to compare life's misfortunes, the brat girl will discover that her sad tale of being neglected by Shane and Kim and her recent misadventures with Brady are small change compared to what's happened to Nurse Betty Boop: threatened as a baby by the evil Lawrence Alamain, pimped out by Trent, a feud with Stephanie, plotted against by Vivian, shot by Carly, kidnapped by Tricky Nicky, threatened by French thugs, and most recently pursued by French casino agents. Even things that Melanie might consider positives, Jeannie T. would regard as definite drawbacks -- being the daughter of the philandering Dr. McScruffy and having busybody Maggie as an egg-grandmother.
