John's death

Oh I'm not looking forward to this. I cry enough as it is about real life sadness in my family right now (we have had an abnormally high number of deaths in just the last 2 years, including 3 young persons, 1 young person being my cousin at just 22 years old, and then 3 months later my dad as he was only 64 and the "baby" among his siblings). Anyway, and I just buried his oldest sister 2 days ago, and my grandmother the week of my birthday.

Y'all, I am NOT ok and NOT ready to watch this on screen. I'm already crying about it and I haven't even read the article about it. I'm so sad!

2025 looks promising though. My oldest cousin is going to be a grandma for the first time! Baby boy will be here by April.

Eric Martsolf (Brady) talked about the filming at the Day of Days weekend

It seems Drake Hogestyn (John) was well aware he was terminal, thus gave his o.k. to it all. I am glad the cast was able to do it before Drake passed away, and am also glad the show did not try to keep John alive by sending him off to Europe, or Africa, and just decide to "stay" there.

It will be hard to watch, I know, especially for viewers who have lost loved one, whether recently or in the past. John has been such a fixture, such a hero, such an integral part of Days for so long, it seems impossible we won't be seeing him much longer. May he rest in peace.
