Harris Michaels' history on Days

Andrew gets a call from Hope, who needs a favor, must see Harris Michaels (played Steve Burton from General Hospital).

For those not familiar, Harris Michaels was on originally in the 80s; he was in a storyline with teenage Eve Donovan. He and another kid named Jake found out Eve had been a prostitute and made a bet as to who could score with her first. Eve thought Harris really liked her, though.

The character was pulled out of mothballs and used in Beyond Salem 2; he and Hope were engaged, but he was using her, with plans to kill her, on Megan's orders (photos below of Harris and Ben, and Harris, Hope and Ciara). But he had a change of heart and spared Hope's life. Well, technically, Hope was killed. She went to Heaven and was reunited with Bo. Bo had been given the miracle of returning to earth but he asked for it to be given to Hope instead. She came back to life (and her memories of reuniting with Bo were wiped clean), time was rewound to right before the wedding, then that's when Harris had the change of heart and spared Hope's life.

I’m sure the only reason they dragged such a random character from the past is the actor (who played Jason on General Hospital for a couple of decades) was available following his resistance to COVID protocols on the other show. He was let go.

Agreed; it's not like Harris Michaels was even a memorable character from the 80s.

In between Steve Burton's stints on GH, he also played the long-lost son of Nikki Newman on Y&R (Dylan McAvoy) from 2103 to 2017.
