Some people have mentioned not being familiar with Diana Colville and her original time in Salem. She was played by General Hospital actress, Genie Francis.
She and John (then known as Roman) fell in love, became engaged and actually had a wedding. But it was stopped by Cal Winters (who went on to get involved with Kimberly and said he was the father of Jeannie T before admitting Shane really was). Cal claimed to be Diana's husband, although he really wasn't.
