Departing???

While it has been known for a while that the characters of Nicole, Deimos & Ciara would be leaving Salem, it seems there MAY be a couple more characters going as well.

I have read that the characters of Joey & Jade will also be leaving, that the actors portraying them are done taping.

Just an aside, but though Ari Zucker (Nicole) contract was over at the end of April, the actress has said she is still filming, and will be into June. This means Nicole will be in Salem til Nov./Dec.

Agree. Joey has been an interesting character, but Jade, especially NuJade, was a waste of time. The young woman portraying did get an acting job, but like many others in the past (e.g., Melissa Archer (Serena) and True O'Brien (Paige), she wasn't given much to work with by the wretched writers. Finally, if Joey has to pay for killing Ava, it would be the height of Salem unfairness. Granny Hope served very little time for trying to kill Stefano and the Salem Sourpuss similarly did little time for the Salem's crime of the century -- causing the death of secular saint, Dr. Daniel Jonas.

Grain of salt, but Days Café claims it was Ava's cousin that really killed. Don't ask me how, but that is what they are posting. He killed her for money.

That's actually a twist I could get behind. I've been hoping for something to erase Joey's involvement.

I wouldn't mind a NuNuJade sticking around, but she needs better writing. I'm tired of weak, clingy characters.

I'm afraid all the young actors have been gypped with stupid stories. Frankly, I thought this Jade fit the part better. The other one seemed too old. I really like the actor playing Steve and Ava's son. I would take him for a lot older than Joey. (my grandson was called "Joey" after he was 2)

You like Ava? Strangely enough, while watching today's (Tuesday) episode there were a few comments that made me wonder if she might reappear at some point. I was thinking that would be the only way Joey could be cleared. But I prefer the idea that her cousin killed her.

I guess it's just the actress that I like. The disposal of Ava's body seemed a little hazy. The cousin as her killer works, too.

She could be redeemable; Ava's medical emergencies could have changed her. She could be a good mother to Dr. Tripp, and start a dancing studio with Dario. Ava/Steve would become Salem "friends."
