38 minutes - about 16:10 minutes in, Julie breaks your heart.

Tate's on the couch scrolling through photos of him and Holly. Brady comes in he wants to order some wings, spicy or hot? Tate is not interested in eating. Holly is unaware, per Tate, that Sophia's keeping the baby.

Doug III calls Holly, they both had fun on New Year's Eve.

Tate freaks, thinking he’s going to be a father. He can’t believe his life is changing after just one night. Brady tries to talk about the wonderfulness of being a father, even if Tate isn’t ready to hear this.

Tate blames Sophia’s mother for him becoming a dad. He's upset with Ava for saying something to Mrs. Choi. It’s all Ava’s fault.

DiMera’s living room. Ava has just wandered in; Kristen is not pleased, how did she get in? Ava tells her through the door. It was unlocked. (with Rafe tied up downstairs, you’d think EJ would demand the doors be locked at all times) Ava wants a confession. She has a new text. Ava explains to Kristen that the text messages are coming from the depressing old mausoleum. Rachel is listening at the doors.

Tate and Brady argue over Ava’s involvement. None of this would be happening if Ava hadn’t gotten involved. No, Brady argues, none of this would have happened if you hadn’t had sex when you weren’t prepared to deal with the possible consequences. Now Tate turns on his dad. Everything is everyone else’s fault. Tate goes to leave and as he opens the door, Mrs. Choi is there because you always open a door to a surprise guest.

Doug III and Holly talk about Tate and Sophia and the planned abortion. They call each other good people. Sophia wanders into the room with Holly. She came to apologize. She and Tate were careful and they used protection. Sophia tells Holly that she’s keeping the baby. Holly takes it poorly.

Amy Choi and Brady Black say hello, and greet each other warmly. Amy wants Tate to hang around for this conversation. Amy understands that Tate’s mother is no longer in the picture. She thinks the next step is planning the wedding.

Doug III is on the phone with Leo, he needs money. Julie wanders in looking sad, how much did she hear?

Ava and Kristen continue the who-sent-the-text conversation. Weirdly, the conversation veers into a conversation about the movie The Graduate. (due to Ava’s relationship with Johnny) Kristen lists all the people who live in the house that hate Ava and why. Rachel runs in and yells, LEAVE MY MOTHER ALONE!

Doug III hangs up; Julie has missed an entire day. She has had problems sleeping, then she wishes Doug III a happy 2025. Julie is missing Doug. She is great, heartbreaking during this scene.

Holly and Sophia have the conversation about how Mrs. Choi stopped the trip.

Mrs. Choi discusses the advantages and disadvantages of being a single mother. Brady tries to explain that getting married might not be the best answer. Amy knows that abortion is not the answer.

Rachel is in the room; she accuses Ava of being a bully. Rachel orders Ava out and says not make her call security. Ava leaves. Rachel goes to the chess board and starts a game. Kristen sing-songs, it was you, wasn’t it, who sent to text messages? Kristen wants the truth. Rachel was just trying to scare off Ava.

Brady wonders if Mrs. Choi thinks Sophia is ready to have a baby? Amy isn’t going to throw away her beliefs because it’s convenient. Sophia trusted this irresponsible young man. It’s the Choi family decision, Amy wants Brady to support it. Brady tells her they will be supportive, financially and whatever other ways needed. Tate thanks Brady for having his back. Tate tells Brady they can talk later, but he really needs to get to Holly.

Meanwhile Holly and Sophia are discussing Sophia keeping the baby because of her mother’s beliefs. Sophia tells Holly that Mrs. Choi wants them to get married. This makes Holly’s head explode.

Doug III and Julie talk about loss. Doug III gets a text, he lies to Julie, telling her it was from Holly and he leaves. The message was from the guys he has to pay off.

Ava arrives at the townhouse. Brady tells Ava about Mrs. Choi. He tells her about Amy wanting Tate and Sophia to get married. Ava feels responsible. Brady shuts that down. He wants another conversation. They go to the text messages. Ava continues to call the DiMera Mansion the House of Horrors.

Kristen and Rachel talk about Ava and how she’s in the way. Rachel talks of how Kristen, EJ and Nono all fought dirty. Kristen tells it’s taken her a long time to understand Brady’s wishes. And now she must accept them. Rachel can’t believe that she, Rachel, is going to be punished! Kristen demands her phone. She's going to change the wi-fi password so Rachel won’t be able to do anything with any device. Rachel thinks this is unfair. Kristen orders Rachel to her room. Rachel stomps off. Kristen talks to her father, “Are you HAPPY??”

Holly calls Doug III, as Tate comes into the room. The conversation goes poorly, or just as you’d expect. Apparently, it’s going to be over in 9 months. Tate failed basic biology.

Bad guys approach Doug III. He hands over the money, it’s short, and the bad guys advance on Doug III.

Julie sits on the couch looking at her phone. She gets a text from Maggie, she deletes it; a text from Marie, and deletes it; a text from Jennifer and deletes it too, without answering them. The text messages were all along the lines of I’m thinking of you, how are you doing, love you. Julie sits and sadly stares into space.

Brady burst into the DiMansion living room, saying he doesn’t have time for this. Kristen wants to know what doesn’t he have time for? The stupid word play over the text messages. Kristen tells Brady that it wasn’t her, it was Rachel.

Tate is wandering the town square and runs into Sophia. Sophia tells Tate she saw Holly.

Dougie is on the “snow covered” ground, badly beaten, the bad guys standing over him snickering. Holly may or may not have seen his attackers. It depends on the future plot. The bad guys leave and Holly runs over to the unconscious Dougie.

Wow, is Kritter Kristen finally getting a clue? I guess we'll see how her talks with Brady go this week. I was surprised that Kristen actually disciplined Rachel. I am glad she let Brady know right away about their daughter's misdeeds. Now, will Brady agree with Rachel's discipline?

So happy to see characters I care about again! The week long Johnny fiasco, Leo stupidity, ArnoldRafe thing has done my head in

I love Ava vs Kristen. And I especially love Ava's clear dislike for Rachel.

Tate did the whiny teen well today, even though he is still too old. I'm here for Holly and Doug3 and Tate and Sophia. I love Sophia. They have sure changed her from a schemer to the victim in all of this, while still keeping her real and the star of the story.

Julie made me sad.

Her relationship with Rachel is built entirely upon selling her a pipe dream of reuniting their family and constantly indulging her. Kristen failing to deliver on the former and suddenly trying to start parenting her isn’t going to end well for her.

My heart was breaking for Susan Seaforth Hayes (Julie Williams). These scenes had to be SO hard for her to film.

Some of my mind's random wanderings, not spoilers:

Rachel may run away.
Rachel may defiantly go through the door to hide and find Rafe. Would she release him? Not sure how well she relates to Ejerk.
Sophia's mom could kidnap Tate to try and force him to marry her daughter. That woman is a mockery to true Christian mothers.
Sophia has a false positive or a miscarriage.

Maybe this is post is on the wrong thread, but (consider this a rant):

Making Doug's grandson a match for Holly is ridiculous. I know that Days does not take age into consideration, but think about this:

Doug was approximately 95-100. His son, older than Hope, would be about 70-80, His son's son (Doug III) would be 40-50. Holly JUST turned 18.
They should have made Dougie III Doug's great grandson. That would make more sense. These writers insult our intelligence.

His son, older than Hope, would be about 70-80,
No, Little Dougie LeClair is younger than Hope. He was born in August of 1976, which would make him 48 in real life. Dougie III appears to be about 20 or early 20's, so that tracks if Dougie LeClair, a/k/a Charles LeClair, had him when he was in his 20's. (Hope was born in January of 1974, but was SORAS'ed a few years, so she was older than 2 when Dougie was born)

Doug Williams (Sr.) was in his 40's when Dougie LeClair was born. Once a soap character is an adult, they become kind of ageless (unless there's a reason to note their soap age, like maybe a milestone birthday celebration). In real life, Bill Hayes (Doug Williams) was 51 when Dougie LeClair was born on Days.

Here's a picture of Hope and Little Dougie:

No, after Addie died, Doug wanted another child and decided to use a surrogate have his baby. Then he and Julie reunited, and he figured they'd have a child together, so he cancelled his plan to have a child via surrogate, unaware the surrogate had actually already conceived his baby. He had no idea his housekeeper was the surrogate and for a long time, she didn't know Doug was the bio father. When the doctor told her the bio father cancelled his plan, she just told people her ex-boyfriend was the father of her baby.

Brady and Victoria, despite their clear age difference, are both Victor's grandchildren.

Well, in the case of Doug (Sr.), Little Dougie LeClair, and Little Dougie Williams III, the ages actually all work.

And even if Dougie LeClair was elderly, he could still have a son in his 20's, as evidenced by all the senior citizen celebrities who have babies and toddlers in their advanced ages.

Thanks, robin.

I'm glad Brady and Kristen know Rachel sent the texts. Is her punishment enough?

Are Harold and Henderson on vacation since the doors to both mansions have been unlocked?

Why hasn't anyone brought up adoption for Tate and Sophia's baby?

Is Tate the baby daddy of Sophia's baby or someone else?

Poor Julie. I hope she'll find someone to talk to besides Dougie.

If only Victor had been around to deal with Mother Choi, Salem’s leading proponent of shotgun weddings. A string of his snarky one-liners would have resulted in her climbing onto her broom and fleeing back home.

If Brady wanted to shock the Tot with the unfortunate nature of his current situation, he might have mentioned that he’s on the hook for child support for the next twenty years and might be facing future college expenses for Little Tot.

Kudos to Ava for taking on both Kritter Kristen and Rachel the super brat. She didn’t get a lot of results, but deserves an A for effort.

Finally if Stefano’s portrait could speak, it would have said “it’s about time” when the Kritter actually disciplined her child.

I doubt Mother Choi would allow her grandchild to be adopted out. Not that it's really her choice, but I could see her putting the kibosh on that option if the kids brought it up.
Is Tate the baby daddy of Sophia's baby or someone else?
I'm wondering if we're eventually going to get a flashback scene of Sophia and Aaron hooking up the night they hung out together.

Thanks for the summary.

I don't know who annoys me more--Tate, Mrs. Choi, or Rachel. All of them are bratty, stupid, and annoying. I just can't wrap my head around the stupidity of this storyline, and feel bad that both Ava & Brady (who otherwise could have a compelling love story) are saddled with it. When Kristen is looking like the mature one, you know it's bad.

Poor Julie. I'm not a fan of the character, but I feel awful for her. This is just tragic, and the inevitable fallout of Dougie's lies and theft will be even worse. I'm also guessing Holly won't be too pleased when the truth comes out.

While this show wasn't the best, at least we got a break from the characters who've been hogging airtime for the past several episodes---as well as Body & Soul.

Sophia hooking up with Aaron for the magic pregnancy would be out of character for both of them. But in line with re-Ron's style of insultingly bad storytelling. So it's a possibility.

The tragic miscarriage just after Holly boinks Dougie is where I'm hedging my bets.
