JJ and Gabi run into each other. She has no plans other than hanging with Javi. JJ says no way is Javi staying in on New Year’s Eve. Does she want to do something with him?
Stephanie at the B&S offices. Philip comes in to firm up their plans for the night. He has reservations at the Bistro. She can't go. Sad faces.
Joy and Alex complimenting each other on their thespian skills. She nails her scenes as a homewrecker. Joy notes she has real life experience as Chanel bops up.
Replay of Jada and Arnold. She wants to know why he changed his clothes?
EJ is lamenting his bad day. He hauls Rafe to the tunnels saying we will see what happens to you after this.
Joy's character is pregnant. Chanel only reads her scenes and didn't know. She invites them to a party at the mansion. Joy starts to make excuses. Alex mugs. Chanel insists. Joy says she will come only if Alex does.

Arnold admits to changing his clothing. Spins story about spilling coffee on himself and buying new threads. Jada boasts about getting EJ fired.
Belle is waiting when EJ emerges from the tunnels. She notes his disheveled appearance and wants to know what he was up to in the DiDungeons.
Joy wishes Chanel would stop inviting her to things. Alex wishes Johnny would just man up and tell the truth.
Johnny hopes Gabi can make it. They miss her. Gabi wonders who the "we" is. Johnny says ok just him. They talk about Arianna being with her dads. Johnny senses she doesn't want to go and he leaves. Gabi tells JJ she never wants to go back to the DiMansion. It's haunted.
Philip is confused. Stephanie can't go to the Bistro but still wants to hang. She left a message but Philip had his phone on silent due to being back at Titan. Stephanie informs him about the DiParty. She feels she needs to be there to chaperone in case the fake Lady Whistleblower shows. She hopes Philip can come with her. Philip notes that EJ hates him. Stephanie says no big EJ hates everyone.
Jada tells Arnold about Paulina accepting her pitch to replace EJ. Arnold doesn't know who Paulina is. Jada helpfully tells him. Arnold agrees it's big news. He snorts about it. Jada didn't expect him to be so giddy about the news. Arnold calls EJ a pompous "donkey" and wants to know about the new DA.
EJ claims he was overseeing tunnel repairs. Belle is surprised anybody would work New Year’s Eve. EJ says that they are fixing the damage done by Connie trying to blow up Gabi and Melinda. Belle quips so they are good to hold more people captive in the new year. EJ laughs awkwardly. He asks if she has come to gloat about Hattie, don't bother. He was just fired. That's what she's here to talk about.
Philip would love to be Stephanie’s date. She frets about his Bistro reservation. He says over-priced food vs party with her. She wins. They are glad to be spending time together again.
Joy is sorry Alex was dragged into the mess. She offers to clear it all up but he says he wants to protect Chanel. Joy really likes Chanel and would die if she found out.
Gabi clarifies that the house is haunted by memories of Stefan and EJ. JJ is good with going somewhere else; EJ doesn't like him either. He suggests going somewhere else but Gabi wants to go to the party to exorcise the memory of her marriage and stick it to EJ.
Arnold is saying Belle is a great choice as Johnny walks by. He hears Arnold call EJ an oaf. Jada apologizes. Johnny says it's OK. He knows Rafe is working for EJ but they aren't buddies. This is news to Jada. Johnny suggests partying together would improve their relationship. Jada declines but Arnold says they would love to come. Johnny goes to grab food. Jada says Rafe is out of his mind. She just got EJ fired. Arnold is all free food, what's not to love?
Belle knows she and EJ have clashed over the years. And recently he corrects. She starts to tell him about her new job but Chanel comes in to tell him about the party. EJ already sent the staff home. Chanel says they are bringing the food. She is just going to grab some wine from the cellar. EJ tells her she can't do that as Belle looks suspicious.
Gabi dressed for the party. JJ knocks at the door and they admire each other. He offers to take her somewhere else but she wants to see EJ squirm.
Chanel wants to know why she can't go into the tunnels. EJ cites the construction work. It's not safe. Belle notes he was just down there. EJ says he got a stern talking to. He will retrieve some bottles. Chanel tells Belle to stay. She can borrow a dress from her and enjoy food from the pub. She tells EJ how much they want her to stay. He concurs. Chanel dashes off to find Belle some wardrobe choices. Belle says it's hard to say no to her. She needs to tell him something. He wants to clear the air between them. Now they aren't work rivals he can tell her he is fond of her as a person. And given her recent divorce, she deserves a night out. Belle knows he went through a painful divorce too. EJ says as two recently single people they should go as each other's dates. Just don't tell Samantha!
Jada is annoyed. Rafe had to know how awkward this would be for her. Arnold was thinking it's a way to extend the olive branch. Or rub it in EJ's face. Jada does not want a contentious start to the new year. Arnold says "come on Boo!" Jada is all "Boo?". Arnold says he's trying it out. He wants to show her off. If she's miserable they can leave before midnight. They go to change.
Stephanie is in a gold dress. Philip is at the door. She can't find her shoes. Shoes found. They exit and run into Alex. He observes things are progressing between them. Philip offers him a ride but Alex is picking up Joy. Stephanie doesn't like that.

Inside, things are decorated and EJ chastises Arnold. EJ is horrified that he went home with Jada. Arnold said nothing happened. Yet. He laughs about EJ being fired. EJ points out he's the only thing standing between Arnold and a prison cell. Arnold reminds him that if he goes to jail so does EJ. EJ says this is a bloody nightmare as Jada comes in. EJ falsely greets Stephanie and Philip. He drags Arnold off to pour drinks. Jada complains that EJ wasn't happy to see her. Stephanie agrees he scowled at her. Jada still doesn't know why they are here.
EJ is berating Arnold who says he is just enjoying the party with his fiancée. EJ says she is Rafe's fiancée and he needs to stay away from her. Arnold points out the wedding they have to plan. EJ says he needs to plan his trip back to Argentina. Arnold wonders where Rafe is. EJ says he's on ice. So to speak.
