Alex's Apartment - Chanel knocks and Alex answers in only briefs. They talk about Alex and Stephanie's relationship status. This is all a pretense for him to pick up a cake from Sweet Bits to take to work. She gets called in to the set right away.

Square - Stephanie and Paulina are talking about an upcoming event. Leo sits down with them about a PR snafu at the show involving a sex scandal. Alex is having a relationship with a costar. Alex slept with a costar but not Chanel or Hattie or Bonnie. Stephanie reacts through Paulina and Leo speculating and discussing the details.

Abe's Office or something, looks like a loft - Bonnie comes in and tells Abe that Chloe Lane's sister would be great for the role of interloper Raven. Joy Wesley's not on his list, has no experience, but Bonnie wants Abe to take a chance on Joy like he did with her.

Salem Inn Room 517 - Nancy (wearing Connie Vininski's glasses, it seems) knocks on the door. Joy answers. Nancy wants to know where she was last night? This scene should not exist. Nancy pries and Joy has an unnecessary flashback to yesterday. They talk about her possible audition. Nancy gets a text that they have an audition for Joy if she can get there right away.

Giant Hospital Establishing Shot - Nurses' Station - Marlena wishes Johnny a happy birthday. She spoke to Allie. She gives him a cupcake Chanel made, inquires about his foul mood. They talk about her small role on the show. He talks about Hattie's cursing the show and has a flashback. Seth comes up and chats about their role in the show. Bonnie comes up, Johnny asks her to take the unenthused Marlena to makeup. Bonnie and Marlena leave. Seth talks about Faith and Arrow's unprofessionalism.

Square - Stephanie, now alone at the table, curses getting involved with Alex. Alex appears to pick up the cake. She acts weird and he asks if everything is OK? She says they shouldn't sleep together anymore.

Production Offices - Chanel arrives and Abe tells her they need her to read for an audition with the actress playing the character of Regan Holloway. Joy enters, she and Chanel exchange names. Chanel apologizes for how mean she'll be during their scene. Abe steps away and Joy glances at the script. She decides to do it cold. They do the scene for Abe. [I won't terrorize you with it; the upshot is Joy's part wants Chanel's character's lover.] They are enjoying themselves [unlike the audience].

Hospital Nurses' Station - Johnny yells "Cut!". Leo is happy with Marlena's performance. They chat a bit about Johnny's birthday before she rushes off to her day job. Johnny says Marlena's job matters, then walks back his disappointment in his job by claiming he's exhausted. Marlena leaves, Leo has added some lines for Seth that upgrades him from a U/5 (i.e., he has more than five lines for the day). Later, Bonnie is under a sheet. Leo wrote a way for Charlemagne to return is the upshot. Johnny questions this, Leo says it's just insurance.

Production Offices - Joy asks if she got the part? Abe says they have other auditions but they'll let her now. She is excused.

Hospital Set Nurses' Station Set - Leo tells Johnny that Chanel wants to see him in a place where they're not filming. Johnny leaves with a sigh. Bonnie enters, apparently she did a morgue scene, too, under the sheet. Marlena enters pointlessly for a disinterested line with Bonnie. Paulina comes in, Marlena gets paged. Paulina brought Johnny's gift that Chanel forgot. Marlena leaves. Paulina asks about the PR snafu. Leo looks over to the other side of the room, where Seth is talking to Stephanie, who he thinks plays Faith.

Hospital Set Hospital Room - Chanel tells Alex she can't wait to surprise Johnny. Johnny enters, Alex leaves. Johnny won't take comfort from Chanel, he lowers the boom.

Salem Inn Room 517 - Nancy is waiting in Joy's room because the maid was cleaning hers. The audition went great. Nancy demands to know whose wedding ring she found??

Hospital Set Nurse Station Set - Stephanie, Alex, Seth, some crew, and Bonnie and Leo and Paulina are preparing for the birthday surprise. Stephanie is steamed.

Hospital Set Hospital Room Set - Chanel is confused. Johnny says he saw her having sex with Alex. He won't hear her explanations. He followed her as she made her dumb surprise for her dumb foolish husband (some of those are his words, some are mine). He refuses to believe anything she says because she's a cheating *bleep*. He can't look at her. He stalks off.

Hospital Station Nurses' Station Set - Johnny walks out after calling his wife a *bleep* and finds his party. Alex tells him Chanel planned the whole thing. Chanel appears behind him, "Surprise." Her facial expression is somewhere between "stuck in traffic" and "stone in my shoe." Johnny's reaction resembles a robot that is cold rebooting. END

Thank you Jason........you did a masterful job, making anything from that horrid mess. Had to laugh when it got slightly mentioned that Marlena had to fall down an elevator shaft, but not to worry, lots of mattresses. (We ALL know would be a stunt person, but evidently the writers of that garbage "drama" never heard of it. )

Have to say I did not get the impression Joy & Johnny had sex, but then was not paying close attention, and did a bit of FF, as well.

I will say, that Johnny's anger, & loud yelling at Chanel was well done (he ASSumed it was her he saw with Alex....as Robin would say "indulging in adult activities"). Ahhh, Johnny, you are gonna not only eat crow, but have to crawl to do it.

Seth thinks that Stephanie is the actress playing Faith. He asked Stephanie to rehearse with him today.

Seth did see Stephanie, but he thinks that she's "Faith".

Seth might be the second worst character after Johnny.
 
I hope Chanel dumps Johnny and moves on. We had absolutely no need for such drama with them and for it to be so cliche is enough for me to hope they never get back together again. They honestly couldn't write this couple as happy for even 6 months?
 
Thanks, Jason. Now you know how I feel when soap day is on Tuesday.

It's a new day in Salem.

I'm not surprised Seth thought Stephanie was Faith since he assumed she's playing the character. He saw her
rehearsing with Alex and he thought she was the actress.

Poor Stephanie, she's embarrassed the bed sheets were messy and the someone on the crew blabbed
to others.

Poor Marlena, she had to fall down the elevator shaft. Then she got called away and missed Johnny's birthday party.
Abe was nice letting Joy audition. She must think she's special since she assumed she got the part.

It's going to be interesting to learn why Johnny took off his ring and when will Chanel notice it's missing?

I posted this in the "Days of our Body and Soul" topic.

I just realized how Re-Ron got some of the character names for the soap opera.

Joy tried out for Regan Holloway which sounds like Megan Hathaway.

So Faith is probably for Hope. Arrow is for Bo (bow)
 
Oh, my gosh, Kat.............very clever thinking on your part..........Well, guess Ron just showed how much imagination he has......... then again maybe the writers' room was full of giggles at how the viewers would be so unaware, think again, all of you!

Is a character named Charity coming up?
