Square - Replay of EJ telling Gabi he could arrest her. She says she should leave a mark, he intercepts her. JJ appears and tells EJ to get his hands off her. Gabi is released. EJ and JJ chest thump about his affair with Abby. EJ backs down, knows Cat caused them pain. JJ is here to see Cat get justice. EJ has news.
Rafe's - Jada is speaking to her sister Talia on the phone about her engagement. Rafe enters. She got him a gift. It's his badge. He's commissioner again. She's the boss of the house.
Pub - Paulina sits and orders a basket of mozzarella sticks from Roman. She has a clean bill of health from her heart to her brain. Roman is happy. Stephanie enters and Paulina calls her Chanel. It's a joke about her idiot son-in-law, Roman's grandson, mistaking Stephanie for Chanel. They recap. Paulina doesn't blame Stephanie for Johnny's problems. Paulina wants info on Stephanie's relationship with Alex, which Roman flees in order to avoid. They talk about workplace romance.
BS Set (Hospital Waiting Area) - Alex tells Chanel about meeting Joy and his remark about her being a thorn in Chanel's side. Banter about show vs reality. Don't eat anything heavy before these scenes. Chanel only blames Johnny for the misunderstanding. They talk about Alex's relationship with his grandma's granddaughter and her jealousy at the rumor of Alex's sleeping with a castmate. Alex talks about how awesome Stephanie is. Chanel wants Alex's loving speech added to the show. Stephanie arrives. Chanel runs off to run lines with her other scene partner. Stephanie needs a favor.
BS Set (Hospital Room) - Johnny is as deep in thought as a rich boy can get. Joy enters. They quibble about his confessing "what they did" to Chanel. Joy is worried about getting fired and Chanel's wrath even though she didn't know who Johnny's wife was when they met. She goes into this at length, my estimate is it takes up 90% of the show. Chanel arrives.
Pub - Jada and Rafe arrive and Paulina invites them to share her (very large) mozzarella sticks. Paulina notices the ring. Rafe tells Roman he popped the question "yesterday". They order burgers, Roman leaves, Rafe tells Paulina he's ready to return to work. Paulina isn't sure, thinks Rafe would be better as a detective and Jada staying on as commissioner. Jada's reign as commissioner has seen lower crime rates, the closure of high profile cases, and the apprehension of Vivian Alamain. Jada doesn't want to take Rafe's job. Paulina points out that it's her choice as mayor, not Rafe's or Jada's. She gets beeped as the food is coming out. She has to take the plate to go (she's sending her assistant back with it, I admit I laughed out loud). Roman and Rafe remark she's unpredictable.
Square - JJ and Gabi are incensed by EJ's actions. EJ is smug about it, tells them to file a complaint. JJ grabs EJ, EJ pushes him away, JJ decks him. EJ is about to wail on him or something when Gabi intercedes. EJ will have JJ arrested, Gabi will testify that EJ pushed JJ first. EJ stalks off. JJ can't believe Cat is free. Gabi speculates EJ only likes locking up innocent people (good recap).
BS Set (Hospital Room) - Chanel wonders what's up with director/husband Johnny and scene partner Joy. Joy gets an answer from Johnny about his plan discreetly. Chanel and Johnny hug before she goes to practice with Joy for her first time on camera. Later, Johnny has left. Chanel promised Nancy that Joy would be looked after, so she invites her to dinner with her & Johnny. Joy tries to decline, but Chanel insists and will handle Johnny.
BS Set (Waiting Area) - Stephanie tells Alex she has a sudden photo shoot for him. Something she tried to line up but failed, but now it's come through. It's boys only. Later he comes in "looking hot" per Stephanie, shirtless with a bow and arrow strapped around him. She adjusts it for him, allowing close proximity that violates several workplace safety laws. They cross no lines. She looks at him and lingers before leaving.
Square - JJ and Gabi talk about her marriage ending while she holds ice on his bruised hand. She wonders if things are forgiven for her. They discuss their falling out, in her actions over Julie's pacemaker. Gabi shouldn't have asked. JJ admits it is still painful but he's torn. She has been working on herself and doesn't like how low she sank. He's willing to give her another chance. She thanks him for saving her today. He thanks her for saving him on Christmas Eve "all those years ago". Really nice recap. He's always going to be grateful for her. It was good seeing each other again; he leaves to talk to Chad about Cat.
Pub - Jada tells Rafe this isn't what she wanted. Rafe knows. He congratulates Jada and gives her the commissioner badge back.
DiMansion Living Room - EJ is getting a drink. Johnny enters, asking about his bruise. EJ won't explain. They recap the party fiasco, EJ thinks it's no big deal since he just made a bad conclusion. Johnny tells him he did something stupid. EJ asks "John Roman" what egregious thing he did? JJ admits (after securing his dad's secrecy) that he cheated on Chanel during the time he thought she had cheated on him. END
