EJ is slowly pacing around the DiMera study, flashing back to various scenes of the past couple of days,including Johnny claiming he is no longer his son. He taps the earpiece of his glasses against his chin, makes up his mind, and signs a paper on his desk. Stefano comes in, ranting about them having to leave town now, the imposter is ready to sing, and their man is no longer on the case. Stefano calls Lexie, wondering if she knows if he & EJ have to leave town. She emotionally tells him she cannot answer that. He calls the pilot of his plane, Lucca (shades of the Godfather!lol), and learns the cops have grounded the plane. Now he wants Elvis to just leave with him, but EJ wants to know how he could possibly just leave Chad & Lexie with no word. Is this how much his family means. They argue some, Stefano talks of sending for them later, berates EJ for perhaps still thinking he has a chance with Taylor, reminds him he has lost his children, Taylor, and there is nothing left for them here. Now there is Pounding on the door, Marco has answered to find 2 cops who have been ordered to stand outside, to make sure no one leaves. Stefano is visibly upset, sees the paper on the desk, asking what it is, then realizes it is EJ working on his defense. Ahhh, EJ has a plan, makes Stefano very happy.
Brady has come into the Cheatin’ Heart, spots Nicole, but ignores her to sit at a table. Taylor soon comes rushing in, eager to tell Brady that EJ is beginning to remember his attack, knows that it wasn’t Rafe, and probably will figure out it was Brady, who is not worried, since he figures EJ & Stefano will soon be in jail, once the imposter sings. Nicole comes over as Abe comes in (surprising how the mayor is involved in all this so much( to tell the sisters that the man who killed their mother is gonna walk, plea bargain. Now Taylor has a fit, Abe leaves, the sisters argue. Nicole figures Taylor doesn’t want EJ to go to jail, but she claims she just doesn’t want the man who killed their mother to go free. She hi-tails it out of there to go raise cain at the police station. Brad stops Nicole from following, and she talks of her sis, and then how the happiest she ever was…she was with Brady, and wishes she could go back to that time.
Down at the cop shop, Bo & Hope are pretty happy campers, cuz they figure the imposter is gonna take their deal The DA shows up, not too happy to see Hope, but shocked to see she is back on the force. Bo explains the governor expunging her record. The D.A. leaves. . Now Rafe’s attorney comes along, saying Rafe 2 now wants $$$$ in addtion to the amnesty. They get Rafe 2 brought up, and the smirking imposter asks if they have read his list. Bo replies, yes, Arnold, we have. But I ‘m gonna call you Arnie. We know who you are, know your record, and can put you away for life. Arnie’s attorney advises him to reconsider. Arnie decides to do so, takes the plea bargain agreement back to his cell. As they sit there, a group of 4 prisoners, orange jump suits, files past, led by two cops.
Dario is visiting Rafe & Sami, and evidently has been told the entire story of the imposter. A knock at the door is answered by Rafe, who finds the sexy Sophia (the FBI agent). Hugs all around, she greets Dario, too. Sami is looking puzzled and finally has to introduce herself. Rafe apologizes, (warning…..there is several bits of conversation in Spanish, BUT..this time…sub-titles are provided! :clapJ introduces Sami to Sophia, explaining Sophia was his ex-FBI partner, and they further explain how Sophia went undercover to get the imposter to turn against the DiMeras. Dario leaves, promising to return Sunday for dinner with them and the kids. When Sophia learns there are 4 children, she is surprised, seeming to remember that tho she thought Rafe would make a great husband & father some day, he did not seem so inclined, was rather reckless. (It is never mentioned that the children are not Rafe’s). More small talk and Sofia eventually leaves. Now Sami has clearly been a bit uncomfortable, she wonders why Rafe did not tell her of this operation, he makes valid excuses, especially as they did not know if it would work, and it was all undercover. The little green eyed monster has made an appearance, as Sami talks of how Sofia was clearly and obnoxiously flirting with Sami’s husband. O.K. they both love each other, their family, and all is well. Sami gets a call from Abe…the imposter has taken the deal, EJ & Stefano are being arrested. Sami & Rafe are all excited and hug.
At DiMansion, the 2 cops come in, declaring both EJ & Stefano under arrest, and we see EJ being handcuffed.
Arnie’s attorney comes in all smiles, Arnie signed the agreement. Bo calls for a stenographer to be sent down to Arnie’s cell.
Outside the cop shop, EJ is being brought in, and there is Taylor. He calls her, says something about her, too, being happy he is under arrest. She stares, just says a lot of people will be happy about this.
Arnie is in his cell as those 4 prisoners in the orange jump suits are put into the cell with him. He smirks, calling them all losers. One guy is talking of this being his 3rd strike. Arnie talks of how he is gonna walk. One guy says “I know you”. Nope, says Arnie, I am not from around here. Oh, no, says the thug, I know who you are, Rafe Hernandez. He tells the others that this is the guy who sent him up for his 2nd strike. Arnie is denying he is that person, as the 4 men crowd around him.
Lexie is there, wishing Abe good luck in the press conference. Abe leaves, the DA comes in, telling Lexie it will be very interesting. Abe has to put his father-in-law & brother-in-law in jail and wonders how that will go in the next election. Lexie retorts that the boy he raised has now lost his father and his brother, and already lost his mother. Perhaps the DA could show him some compassion. He tells her to go to hell, and leaves.
One cop is asking the other cop where he put the prisoners, learns it is with the imposter. Abe is having a fit, that guy is a witness protection candidate. The first cop berates the 2nd one for doing what he did. Bo & Hope rush down to the cell, the door opens, the 4 orange clad prisoners part, and there is the imposter, laying on the floor, a pool of blood under his head. Bo checks, there is no pulse. The man is dead. Frustration on all faces.
