Price-Carver Apartment - Eli and Lani emerge with the twins to the main room. Abe and Paulina shout "Happy Birthday" and "Merry Christmas" to the twins. Paulina and Abe have lots of presents for them. Lani and Paulina have a brief discussion about not spoiling the kids. Paulina wants to, and Eli says that Julie and his mom (Valerie) are competing in that category. Lani needs a moment to visit an old friend.
DiMansion - Rachel is grumpy because she didn't get what she really wanted, which is her mommy and daddy back together.
Evans-Black Townhouse - Brady brings in flowers that were left for Marlena. Marlena reads the card expectantly. They're from Susan. He tells Marlena she doesn't need to be brave. She never could hide her feelings from him. He gives her a present - it's a locket with a picture of him and Belle as kids in it. The locket was Isabella's. Marlena is reluctant to take it, thinks it should go to Rachel. Brady says Rachel's into reptiles, not jewelry. Brady knows his mother would want his "other mother" to have it. Marlena is touched. She has a gift for him, but first he wants a case update.
Hospital - Roman arrives on summons from Kayla. She needs a favor, and shows him a Santa hat. They talk about when Steve was Stefano and stole his suit.
Pub - Steve is working at a table. He's on the phone with Joey, tells him he's assisting John with a case for the ISA. Black Patch is assisting Uncle Shane with a case that's top secret. As they are ending the call, Ava comes downstairs on the phone. She's talking to Tripp. She gives Steve the phone and we learn that Tripp asked Wendy to marry him on Christmas Day, and she accepted. He congratulates them and tells him they'll be seeing them soon. Ava asks him about Kayla, no wait it's none of her business. Steve tells her they're both working today. Since Steve is on the clock, she has a case for him.
Evans-Black Townhouse - Marlena only knows the case is important for world security. She knows John will be back to them but she misses talking to him. Brady is separated from Rachel this Christmas, too. He was supposed to see her but Kristen won't allow it. Kristen is miffed that he's dating Ava Vitali. Marlena gets to react to this, points out his history of dating "troubled, dangerous" women, and they discuss if it could be subconscious.
DiMansion - Rachel knows about the serum and is peeved that her mother is at fault for pushing Brady away. Kristen tells Rachel you can't force someone to love you. Brady has moved on. Rachel shocks her mother by revealing she knows he's dating Ava Vitali. Rachel overheard Kristen talking to "nonno" about dealing with Ava. Kristen is upset about the eavesdropping and doesn't tell her daughter what Stefano revealed.
DiMansion - Lani arrives, compliments Rachel on her beauty. Rachel tells her that female beauty is a tool of the patriarchy; Lani gives her a "right on, sister." Rachel leaves to put her snake Edgar's skin in Harold's bed as Kristen tries in vain to stop her. Lani shows pics of the twins, who turn 4 today. They talk about the spoiling, although Lani notes all the presents and thinks Kristen and Brady are spoiling Rachel just as much. Kristen says it's all from her, Brady can't see their daughter while he's dating that tramp Ava Vitali. Lani advises her against hurting her daughter by lashing out at Brady. She has to get back to the twins. Rachel returns, Lani leaves, Rachel tells her mom she didn't put the skin in Harold's bed. Kristen has a surprise for her.
Pub - Steve reads the texts and doesn't think they're much of a threat. Ava wants them stopped before it escalates. Steve seems ambivalent. Ava asks him to do it for their newly engaged son's sake. Steve will take the case, and was planning to anyway. Ava wants the harassment stopped.
Price-Carver Apartment - Eli has gone sledding with the kids. Abe is exhausted. Theo was quiet and shy at 4, Chanel was a terror but nothing like the twins together. They enjoy their quiet time. She gives him a box of books about great soap creators so he can join their ranks. He gives her a bracelet that has all the Price family's birthstones (Pearl for Big Mama, Ruby for Abe, Garnet for Lani, Aquamarine for Chanel, Turquoise for Jules and Carver, and Sapphire for Tamara) on it. Paulina is hopeful she and her sister will have better times ahead. They have to head to the hospital, but first, inspired by Abe's gift, Paulina will call her sister.
Hospital - Roman thinks wearing the Santa suit is giving him a heart attack. Later, he's in a hospital bed. He had an allergic reaction to something in the suit so Kayla needs to call another Santa.
Evans-Black Townhouse - Brady gets a scarf from Marlena. She got one for Tate and one for Rachel, too. They lament not seeing Rachel today. Kristen calls, asks Brady to come to the Mansion for Christmas.
Pub - Steve is using an app to unscramble blocked numbers and locate burner phones. Ava could have used that during her mob days. Steve does not appreciate this remark. The computer pinpoints the location to the DiMera mansion. Ava's not surprised.
Evans-Black Townhouse - Marlena has a futile phone call with Shane trying to contact John. She gets a lonely long shot in the lustrous living room.
DiMansion - Brady brings a present. Rachel hasn't opened her presents yet. She opens Brady's. He got her frozen rats, which is what she really wanted. She goes to feed Edgar. Kristen looks at Brady.
Hospital - Kayla has called the mayor to read the Christmas story again. Eli, Lani, and the twins are there with a bunch of bandaged child extras. After the story, Abe comes in dressed as Santa. Later, Kayla gives Roman some antihistamines and he comes out to see Abe as Satna. On the other side of the nurses' station, Eli and Lani are watching wistfully. Lani will miss this. Eli says they'll be back soon. They kiss under the mistletoe. Abe and Paulina have a moment too.

The note says, "Here's to being wrapped up in your love for many Christmases to come, John."
DiMansion Living Room - Kristen tells Brady that a friend reminded her not to punish Rachel for Kristen's feelings for Brady. Brady plans to leave after saying good-by to Rachel. Kristen makes a remark about Ava, Brady tells her to stop sending texts. She denies sending any texts. Then who did?
