Good show today! Brief B&S mention but it was derided as it should be. Filmed back on Eclipse Day, April 8, 2024, for those interested in that kind of thing!

Replay of Brady coming in to accuse Kristen of being a lying liar who lies. Sarah told him everything. Kristen looks pouty.

Kate is on the phone with Philip recounting the tale of Vivian’s arrest. She wishes she could have seen Vivian’s face plant. Apparently Viv is now in jail. Kate assures Philip that Viv kept her mouth shut about the fake Victor letter and they are in the clear. Nobody will be the wiser. At this moment Xander comes in and Kate looks suitably shifty.

At the pub, Steve wants champagne for breakfast. Roman indicates that it is too early. Steve will celebrate Vivian’s arrest with a cup of joe instead. Roman was kind of disappointed, he thought Vivian would make a great escape, but guesses time catches up to people. Steve is planning to see Chad later, he is worried about him. He tells Roman that Clyde called Chad right when he was breaking the news to him about his escape.

Chad is in the interrogation room. He wants to know why EJ has not dropped the charges against Cat yet? EJ wants to know why he made such an insane request?

Kristen says she has no idea what Sarah is talking about. Brady retorts with the truth. Kristen lists the two lies that Sarah has told in her life. Brady says if Sarah is lying, so is Maggie. He wants Kristen to admit that she was not handing over the serum from the goodness of her heart, but was using it as leverage to force Xander to give her Titan.

Kate gets off the phone fast and hangs up on a protesting Philip. She tells Xander she was talking to her head writer and the stories he writes are so fabulous that he will have millions of viewers on the edge of their seats. Kate says Xander had better not spill anything he heard on social media. Xander says even if he was hard up for cash that’s not his style.

Kate wants to know why he dropped by? Xander reminds her that he asked her to get Philip to drop his injunction against him but it is still ongoing. He proffers his phone and tells Kate to get Philip on the phone so she can tell him to cease and desist. Kate tells him that’s not going to happen. She supports Philip in anything he is doing to save his father’s company.

EJ points out that Cat has caused Chad nothing but grief. He recaps her charade as Abby. Chad knows all this. EJ wants to know why he would want the charges dropped? Chad says because Clyde asked him to.

Kristen admits she made a deal with Xander, but only because Sarah lied. Brady would not be behind bars if it wasn’t for her. Brady doesn’t want to discuss that, he wants to discuss the ethics of her using the serum to force Xander to give her Titan. Why did she leave out that detail? Didn’t she think he would find out eventually? Kristen figured they would cross that bridge when they came to it. She had no choice, she has to prove herself to the DiMera board. She needed something to shore up their faith in her, she needed Titan. Brady says so it was all about business then? Or maybe greed, power and money, but mostly it was all about her. Kristen says she did it for him, not herself.

Sarah is picking up after Victoria (one toy, one book). Philip comes in looking for Maggie. He is there to see how she is doing on the anniversary. Maggie is out. Sarah says he is welcome to wait. Philip asks if she is sure, since it is because of him she doesn’t have the serum. Sarah understands. She is not thrilled at Xander handing the company over, as much as she would like to walk again. He is the one pushing for it. He would do anything to get his hands on it. Philip quips that explains Xander trying to murder him yesterday.

Xander says of course Kate supports Philip, cheating him out of his rightful inheritance. Kate says the only reason Philip was not in the will (except he was, Victor left a trust for his medical care) was because he faked his death. Xander points out that was after he framed Brady for his own murder, so that was basically his own doing.

Kate doubles down that Victor didn’t mind, which he made clear in the (fake) letter. Xander asks if Kate has no problem with denying Sarah the serum which could help her walk again? Kate’s concern is for Philip. He deserves a portion of his father’s legacy. Xander warns he hopes it is worth squandering her own. He says it is time for her to change her tune, consider a rewrite, or her little soap will be DOA before it even hits the airwaves (it has not even aired yet? I don’t watch B&S so I had no idea!).

Roman asks Steve to repeat everything he just said. Steve tells him about the Chad/Clyde call. He got the feeling Chad was hiding something.

EJ confirms that Chad spoke to Clyde. He wanted to know where Abby’s remains are, and Clyde agreed on the condition he got the charges dropped against Cat. EJ ponders why he would care about her? Chad says Clyde doesn’t want to help her, he wants her head on a pike.

Back with Steve and Roman. He is still pondering the situation. They are talking about Chad’s need to find Abby’s remains. Chad told Steve that Clyde wouldn’t tell him anything, why would he unless there was something in it for him? Roman asks if Steve thinks that Chad and Clyde made some kind of deal?

EJ repeats the head on a pike line. Chad says that won’t happen. EJ asks then Chad is ok with Clyde, the man who murdered her, keeping Abby’s remains? And he is confused about why Chad wants Cat released, doesn’t he want her to pay for what she has done?

Sarah repeats the bit about Xander trying to kill Philip. Philip says he found Xander alone talking to Victor’s portrait, saying the only way to prevent him from blocking his deal was to murder him. Sarah says she is sure Xander didn’t mean it, probably an idle threat. Philip says she is married to Xander, is he the type who makes idle threats? (actually Philip said to Xander this exact thing last week, that he is all talk and no action, but let’s carry on)

Philip says that Victor kept a gun in the safe, and Xander got a hold of it (he leaves out the part where he took out the gun, put it in Xander’s hands, and challenged him to shoot). Sarah says Xander would never shoot Philip. Philip says that is what he thought, until he pulled the trigger. If the gun had been loaded he would be dead.

Kate now repeats Xander’s last words from their previous scene (what is this today?). Xander says he will buy whatever third rate streaming service they are using and shut down the whole Body and Soul operation (OUR HERO XANDER). Kate says he wouldn’t. Xander says he will unless she gets Philip to drop his suit and help him get his hands on the serum, then Body and Soul will need it even more than Sarah does.

Brady clarifies that Kristen was demanding Titan in exchange for the serum for him. Kristen points out that once Basic Black is in her control she would hand it to him and he would have free reign again. Brady asks if he is meant to believe she went after all of Titan just to get one division of it to give to him? Kristen says it’s not that crazy, DiMera is a family business and Brady is family. This is how he, Kristen and Rachel build a legacy to secure their future together. Brady demurs.

Kristen says it is not out of the question, they have been getting along, and Rachel is the #1 fan of them being a forever family. She says they struggled in the past, but when it was good, it was magical and perfect. For their daughter’s sake, shouldn’t they try to work on things again. She is willing to put in the work if Brady is.

Brady agrees that family is important. Victor was his family, and it would be a nightmare for him to have Titan under DiMera control. And Brady will have no part of it. Kristen’s fantasy of them as a family is not going to happen under these circumstances. Kristen jumps on that, asking that if she didn’t demand Titan for the serum that they could be together??

Sarah can’t apologize enough. Philip says Xander crossed the line, Sarah has done nothing wrong. He has to run. He likes Sarah, so no matter how he feels about Xander, he wants her to know that he does not want to make things more stressful between them than they already are (Sarah’s face is great here, she knows he is trying to do just that). He is just protecting his father’s legacy. He needs to fulfill his father’s wishes. It is what Victor wanted, or he would not have written that letter.

Kate repeats that Xander would really cancel her show. Xander confirms, says he would use it as a tax write off. If it happened to Batgirl, it can happen to Kate. Kate says that it’s not like buying a carton of milk. Xander points out that he has the capital. Kate counters that Titan has it, not him, and she is well aware of the uncertainties presented by Philip’s letter from Victor.

Kate thinks Xander is bluffing. If his bluff is indicative of his business skills then he should just let Philip run Titan. There are other things he could do to occupy his time. She has a walk-on part they are trying to cast for Body and Soul: a big dumb hunk who hangs around shirtless with a vacant look in his eyes (oh no, are they recasting Alex’s part?!). Xander damns Kate on his way out.

Of course Chad wants Cat to pay. What she did was cruel. Nobody is angrier than him. EJ wants to know then why would he want her released? She is only a bargaining chip to get Abby’s remains, and Chad won’t do that. Chad corrects that he would not let Cat be killed, but he is not above using her to get what he wants.

Chad did not say anything that gave Steve the impression he was making a deal with Clyde, but now he is thinking that Chad was really uneasy after the call. He thinks he was hiding something. He asked Chad who was calling when he was on the phone. He thinks Clyde knew he was there. When Chad told Clyde to go to hell he was looking right at Steve, like he was doing it for his benefit. Maybe "go to hell" was code for "I’ll do anything you want" (Steve has the Salem Brain again today).

Chad will go through the motions, pretend to give up Cat to Clyde and get the information about Abby. EJ mocks that then Clyde will just give up the info and let Chad and Cat skip away, happy he has done a good deed? Chad claims that he has a plan and will get what he wants from Clyde. EJ and I both are skeptical of this.

Brady is not saying that giving up the serum means that he will become a happy family with her and Rachel, what he is saying is if she demands Titan for it then it will never happen. She can’t profit from restoring Sarah’s ability to walk, and she can kiss any idea of them getting back together goodbye.

Kate arrives at Philip’s hotel room to report the Xander problem. She tells Philip that Xander threatened to can her show, that he is not backing down and will do anything he can do undermine him. Philip sneers, let him do it, I’m doing the same to him, like brother, like brother.

Sarah is glaring as Xander comes in and gives her a big kiss that she does not return. He immediately knows he is in the doghouse. Sarah tells him that Philip was just here. Xander sits down and smiles winningly. Sarah says Philip told her Xander tried to kill him. Xander protests that Philip is exaggerating.

Sarah says so he did not aim a gun at Philip. Xander admits technically yes, but it wasn’t even loaded. Sarah asks if he knew that when he pulled the trigger? Xander doesn’t respond to that one. Sarah wasn’t there, she doesn’t understand. Philip was goading him, he wanted him to do it. Sarah says first Brady, now Philip, when is this obsession with vengeance going to end?

Steve looks at his phone. EJ has dropped all the charges against Cat. Roman is astounded. Steve says it seems Chad raised no objections. Roman says that coupled with the weird call… Steve finishes that things are playing out exactly how Clyde wants them to.

EJ comes back in and warns Chad he thinks he is playing a dangerous game. Chad is clear on that. He owes it to Abby. Paulina will be mad at EJ but Chad is his brother, he has dropped the charges. Chad thanks him. EJ tells him to be careful.

Kate has been told that Xander tried to kill Philip. Philip says to be fair, he took the gun from the safe and may or may not have provoked him. Kate calls Xander a neanderthal and says he needs no provocation. Philip says when he told Sarah this, he left out that part. Kate says but she knows the important part, that her husband is a would-be killer and as amoral as he has always been. Philip says since he and his brother are taking sibling rivalry to an epic and potentially catastrophic level, what is the harm of adding a smidge of marital discord to the mix?

Xander says his obsession with vengeance won’t end until everybody pays for what they have done to her. He loves her, she and Victoria are his whole life, and it is killing him to see her hurt in this way, and that his mother did it, and his brother won’t let her get the help he needs. Sarah says so he is just going to go around hurting other people and maybe even killing them to make them pay? Sure, they will live happily ever after once he is finished serving 25 to life.

Xander mutters that Justin would likely plead that down. Sarah says they can’t live this way, this is not who they are. Why can’t he see that her walking again is not worth taking somebody else’s life? Or throwing away his own? Brady comes in before Xander can answer. There is something they need to know. He went to see Kristen and tried to reason with her and get her to drop the demand of Titan for the serum.

Kristen is talking to Stefano’s portrait. He would have been proud of his granddaughter’s father today. He gave her an ultimatum, she had to choose between love and money, nobility and mercenary. She hopes she made the right choice.

Xander stands. He thanks Brady for trying. He assumes that Kristen insulted him then turned him down flat. Brady says that she did not insult him or turn him down. He turns to Sarah who has hope on her face. He pulls out the serum and tells her he thinks this belongs to her. Sarah is incredulous, Xander is close to tears. The End.

I was rooting for Xander when he said he would cancel Body and Soul, we all want that very badly!

That "big, dumb hunk" remark was not nice. Xander is big and a hunk but far from dumb. Seriously.

Agree, Jason, Kate is one to squawk.

Anyone notice that, once again, Roman put down the coffee pot on the tablecloth when he sat down to talk to Steve? He did that before, and I was yelling at him to put it back on the burner. I know it won't catch fire, but it shouldn't be placed on a tablecloth.

Don't tell me Brady caved and now is back with Kristen? How could she even want him back when she knows it is not what he wants? Maybe she should just get another Nicole mask and stay that way. After all, we DO miss Nicole.:rotfl:

No, he said if she didn't hand over the serum she would have zero chances with him versus almost zero.

Chad looked like he was wearing a helmet over his head. Are guys wearing their hair that way?

What does Chad have planned with Cat out of jail?

Will Cat visit Aaron and Felicity?

What are Philip and Kate going to do now, since Brady got the serum for Sarah?

Happy, happy, joy, joy Brady got the serum for Sarah. Will it work? Will Kristen try to make Brady
get back with her for doing something nice?
 
Has Kritter really folded and given Sarah the real serum? If she hasn’t, will we get a scene in which Kritter explains to bratty Rachel why daddy hates mommy?

Why does the Kritter think that Shin and the board would be impressed by her getting control of Titan with a criminal blackmail scheme? Are they that dirty? Hopefully, Shin would react by reassigning Kritter to toilet cleaning duties. As a victim of Salem criminality, Cardboard Li would like that.

This Clyde, Cat, and Abigail’s body nonsense is dragging on far too long. Why can’t foolish Chad channel his inner DiMera and force Clyde to disclose the whereabouts of Abigail’s wandering body, and then have one of Father’s thugs shoot him? Nobody should be able to mess with a member of La Famiglia and get away with it.

It’s true. Shaggy’s efforts to get a share of Titan are a dramatic flop. If only Chloe would return and give Shaggy something worthwhile to think about.
